Idk if it's just me but he sounds like he's trying to emulate Myles... In some of the singles from the new album it sounds like Myles' vocal melodies in Mark's voice
This really impressed me. I was expecting a joke vid but got kicked in the face with good musicianship. Those instruments are tough to play, I had students that would bring them in. Though you can find one's that play just fine. I've done acoustic versions of songs where you have to lower the solo's but I had to sit down and practice it well in advance. I've skipped a few because I'm usually alone but I may rethink that now. Maybe that's the case here but I don't doubt Mark Tremonti is a good enough guitarist to be able to do that without having to rehearse it much. If at all.
I disagree about the rehearsing... I cant imagine them being able to just show up and pull this off on the first try. those instruments have a completely different feel that your hands need time to adapt to. additionally the smaller guitar has so few frets that some parts may have had to be transposed to fit within the available. I think they sat down and worked it out and practiced ahead of time.
As someone who loves metal music in general, Metallica, and is obsessed with Hello Kitty (enough to have multiple HK tattoos), this makes my life happy 😊😻😻🎸

Why didn't Mark just to on his own much earlier!! WHY?!?! I didn't know that he has such a phenomenal voice!! It is indescribable and can only be summed up in one way that most people can relate to. Operatic, beautifully articulate, and instantly recognisable. I knew that he could sing background vocals but had I known then I could have been more satisfied and encouraged him to go solo when Scott Stapp left the band and went nuts! Myles Kennedy has a great singing voice but imagine the Creed catalogue with Mark singing all these songs instead of Scott. It's not like they really needed his nasaly, hillbilly southern drawl when Mark has the talent to push the band and keep it going and has enough talent for TEN BANDS!! And for him to have such a sense of humour and play Metallica and Sanitarium - one of the hardest songs to play on Hello Kitty guitars and ukulele and keep a straight face speaks volumes of this mans' character. Thank you ever so much for sharing this with the rest of us to enjoy!

What impressed me about Mark the most was not the guitar playing, because I know that the man can play very well from Day 1, but rather his singing voice. Ever since he sang second lead in My Own Prison alongside Scott Stapp, I know the man can sing, and I am glad he is now using all his talents to the fullest!
This was fun. Must be difficult to play on guitars that weren't made to play metal. Great voice, too. I got inspired to get up and play this song on my ESP Kirk Hammett-guitar.
There just guitars at the end of the day. Pickup output and magnet material, as well as amp choice is what makes a heavy tone. I also have an ESP KH2 from 1994 ESP Custom Shop. Fantastic instrument.
