      @@gamebredduramax71 Because at one time they were overexposed everywhere and people got tired of them. Something like Nickelback. They are not bad band its just they were everywhere their songs were blasting at every radio station in the early 2000s and people literaly got tired of them.
      They were all over the place.
      So sometimes its good to just lay low and build a mistique so people would notice that you are missing and you know, get some buzz going on. Creed was in your face MTV 24/7 and overxposure is not a great thing when you have it too much.
      They sold out quickly and fans dont like it. You know majority of people see rock stars as rebels and outlaws and non conformists. Then you see Scot Stap on Good Morning America and all that aura of badassary is gone.
      Creed became like a soccer mom's band and people dont like to associate with that image.
      Another reason is they were cocky and douchy back in the day and also couldnt keep their mouths shut interviews. Also it didnt help that they sounded like Pearl Jam and it got the bass player pissed and he said in one interview they were better than Pearl Jam which obviously pissed some people off.
      Scot stapp also got high and made a fool of himself several times on live TV and you know.
      They made many PR mistakes and got lot of people to hate them.
      these are few of the reasons but mainly it was overexposure. They became too big for their shoes.

    Mark Tremonti was just as important to Creed's success as Scott Stapp was, and unfortunately a lot of fans don't realize this. Jason Ragland Love Alter Bridge, ABIII being my fav. I gotta say though, I can see this becoming the side project with the two of them focusing more on their "side projects" ; maybe not but things are going very well for both of them. • @ragzy02
      @ragzy02 9 лет назад +7

      Don Ball Yes, ABIII is my favorite as well. The lyrics are more serious and darker, which I actually like. One Day Remains was very positive lyrically, and Blackbird was a mixture. Anyhow, yeah, seeing Joey and Mark together would = wow moments X a million. And throw Jamey in there and who knows what monster we would have beheld.
      Slash and Myles are growing and becoming a really, really huge thing so I have to wonder where the future lies with Mark and Myles? Alter Bridge has grown too though, especially in Europe. America is just stupid about music man. How the hell is AB not the biggest band in American rock today?

      Celticsaint777 .. one of the greatest guitar players...seriously?! You mean here on earth?! No disrespect.. he's a decent guitar player.. pretty competent and seemingly a really good guy but far from being one of the greatest. I can't think of any particularly memorable riffs or solos that move others to emulate be it within their own style or playing air guitar, isn't particularly technically proficient or play with any great deal of depth or soul. Any or all of these would typically justify one being labeled as one of the greatest and can easily thrown down a couple dozen names of other great guitarists far more notable than Mark, that would still fall short of being labeled as one of the greatest. Hetfield, Mars, Bettencourt, Sambora, Vandenberg, Stevens, Fruciante, Navaro, Bratta, Lee, DeMartini, Thayil, Ian, Mustaine, Wylde, Dimebag and so on and so on. Its okay to be a fanboy but seriously.. get a grip..

    What a great down to Earth guy. Saw them at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA back in 1998 when they were REALLY BIG! "The Toadies" opened up for them and got to chat with them for a few minutes before Creed came on, and they were great as well. Was a great concert and only about 1,000 people in attendance, and hilarious to see the girls run after them once they left the stage.

    • @rickchyczewski576
      @rickchyczewski576 3 года назад +7

      Maybe. I think it had more to do with Tremonti's song writing ability. I try and imagine what Creed would have sounded like with Kennedy as the frontman from the start. I think they would have had a much longer career and probably be up there with a lot of great bands from the past 30 years. Instead Creed may have made a lot of money but they are not really looked at in a serious light. That is all on Stapp. There was a lot of comparison to pearl jam on their first record and his style being close to Vedders. IMO that is not even close as Eddie is in a class by himself. However, Stapp should have paid homage instead of denying it. I dont care what anyone says, to the average listener they do sound similar. To fans, its not really a thing. Pearl jam has paid homage to bands they were inspired by. Its just respectful. That hurt creed.

    • @stingstungmemae1297
      @stingstungmemae1297 2 года назад +1

      Agree to disagree. Yeah I know people said they sound similar but I never once confused the two. I loved Pearl Jam and I loved Creed. If both of these guys sang Amazing Grace, I could tell you who was who.
      People also called them a Christian band which they are not. Some say they did too many ballads but I love ballads. Idk.
      I think people got too carried away.

    I'm now 61, and have been a rock fan since the late 60's, as a kid growing up mesmerized by what I was hearing on New York and New Jersey radio stations. I particularly loved hard rock (later to be called 'heavy metal', or 'metal', especially after the NWOBHM hit the scene), and got into Aerosmith, Zeppelin, KISS, Rush, Maiden, Scorpions, etc. I never liked grunge or post-grunge when it came out, but there was one exception at first. That was Creed. When I first heard that first Creed album, I was blown away! Especially Tremonti's guitar playing. So raw, compelling, and emotional. I had to re-evaluate my dislike for this kind of music! Fast foward to now, and I still think Mark Tremonti is an absolute monster on guitar, with his many shades and nuances of rhythm and lead. He is easily one of America's all time best rock guitarists, and that's coming from someone who has admired all the greats like Tony Iommi, Yngwie Malmsteen, Ritchie Blackmore, Alex Lifeson, Jimmy Page, Rory Gallagher, Uli Roth, Michael Schenker, etc.!
