Home tip: how to fix a dryer that isn't drying clothing properly, especially one with an automatic dry setting that doesn't seem to be working, July 12, 2019.

You have to take the dryer apart and get all of the lint out of the dryer

Make sure the front and back drum liners are not tore up or missing any felt. That's where your heat is escaping from.

You can buy a brush that goes down through there through your filter box and cleaned that out from the inside so you don’t have to vacuum it out

@@DIYLifeTech There’s one that has a 1 inch by about a 12 inch long round brush with a handle on it. You can get one from Home Depot or wal mart.

Make sure you lint filter is really clean it may look clean but if you rinse it and water pools on it that’s a sign it needs to be cleaned properly, dryer sheets may be a culprit in blocking the tiny holes with a waxy substance , when you run water on the filter it should go through the screen , if it doesn’t go through wash it and use a cleaning brush lightly when doing so to clear the screen holes , get a dryer vent cleaning kit make sure your dryer vent hose isn’t kinked

I tried this and it did work and dried 1 load of clothes but then it stopped drying next load. I get hot air and don’t see any lint blocked.
