    Thank you for the video. I cleaned out the filter and scrubbed it with soap. They rinsed it with hot water. Let it dry out. But that wasn't the problem. While cleaning behind the dryer with a filter stick, I accidentally punctured a hole in the coil foil thing. My dryer was blowing out heat but wasn't drying the clothes. We replaced it and all is good. Bought the part from Home Depot, it cost $16 dollars. It's the thing that looks like a slinky made out of foil. But the hubby fixed it, and it's perfect now. Yippee! 🤗

    Thanks, this really helped! When I pulled the dryer out I found that the exhaust hose was kinked and there was hardly any room for the air to flow through. It was a metal flex vent so I straightened it out as best I could and kept the dryer farther out from the wall for a temporary fix,. It seems to be drying fine, but I am ordering a new hose for it! Appreciate the tip for the simple fix, I was about to replace the heating element!

    there is a primary and a secondary Coil (not sure what it's called) that acts as a safety that will break if it can't breathe properly. if everything appears to be working but simply not getting heat then this is usually the culprit unless it's your ignitor. those coils are being made cheaper and cheaper all the time cuz they want them to break if you're not cleaning your filter each time ...
    a quick tip: if you soak that ball of lint you get from the filter with some melted wax you'll end up with really long burning fire starters for camping fires or whatever. what I do it soak the lint ball with wax then coat the surface of the ball with a little extra wax then when you are ready to use it, just pull up a piece of the lint up to lite it and put it in the center of the fire ... it will burn a very long time so you can start your fire around it.

    • @WordofAdviceTV
      @WordofAdviceTV  4 года назад +3

      I think what you are referring to are the gas valve coils. They do fail pretty often as well! Thank you for pointing that out.

      Clean the washer (e.g., run empty load with hot water and sodium percarbonate). Then, in future loads, put white vinegar in the "fabric softener" reservoir. That should clean the unit and improve the drainage.

    Dryer sheets can stick to exhaust vent inside the dryer and block the airflow.
    My dryer two or more cycles to dry a load. I went through all the typical fixes, finally I discovered that the belt pulley was split. The dryer appeared to rotate normally but apparently it was not rotating fast enough because after replacing the pulley it works like new again.

    My dryer, after 1 full cycle, the clothed come out warm and still very wet. I cleaned out the vent, and the dryer still has the issue of dryer vents hard out the exhaust but blows warm, not hot. It takes like 3 cycles to dry. I finally got fed up and just purchased a new dryer. I hope it solves the issue. I don't want to Pau a repairman to fix a 15 year old dyer.
    I'd rather spend the money on a new one. I was hoping to try and fix it, but I can't figure it out it's been drying this way for a month and I've had wnough.

    • @SuperJeremi10
      @SuperJeremi10 2 года назад

      My new dryer arrives December 22nd, so I'll post whether or not it fixes my issue. I've paid to have my vent exhaust cleaned. Yes, it was bad, but unfortunately, it wasn't the issue with my dyer. I have a feeling it's the dryer even though I have checked it for lint as well and has plenty of air coming out the exhaust vent same as on back if dryer when disconnected. It just won't heat up all the way. We've checked the voltage going to the dryer too it's good.

    So question. What if the venting is clear. But dryer taking two times to dry towels? Dryer gets hot. Still venting problem. I bought an indoor vent kit to test. Everything dries super fast. The venting had 90 on wall, then vertical about 8’, another 90, then horizontal run of about 15’. It’s vented out the soffit. I can’t get up there to see, but opening appears small. It’s a townhouse. Other folks have no issues I’ve talked to. My GE manual shows it can vent like 35’ with two 90s. It’s about 10 years old or more. Can a dryer have an issue where it’s just not producing the volume of air it was designed to push? If so, the vent that goes vertical then horizontal with two 90s may be too much now. Any thoughts?

I would say you don't have it wired up correctly or settings are off a bit for your particular setup.

I've even taken apart the drier and made sure there is no lint behind where the removable trap is. Our clothes are hot but not dry even after 4 heavy loads on high temp. The exhaust vent outside is not blowing any air even though everything is connected properly (that I can see) and there is absolutely no lint buildup anywhere. Any ideas?
