Thank you for taking the time to make this video. It was very helpful and saved me a lot of time and money to not have to call someone out for such a simple fix. I actually found a tiny screwdriver (like the kind used for glasses) lodged inside the vent shaft. CHECKING POCKETS FROM NOW ON!!!

I've been having trouble with my dryer for a while now and thanks to your video I was able to take the vent off the dryer. There was a ton of lint etc stuck in it. In the process of cleaning it out now, that was likely the problem. Thank you so much! Your videos are such a big help.

Thank you SOOOOOOOOOO much. I was getting dressed to go to Bestbuy and purchase a new Washer and Dryer. I went and pulled out the dryer, (which was easier than I thought) and saw the dryer was pushed too far up against the wall and once I pulled it all the way OUT and turned it ON, it got super hot immediately. It's about 12 years old but I literally wash one load of clothes a week. I REALLY was getting dressed and watching videos on here and ran across yours. You saved me 2 grand for NOW. lol. I'm sure the time is winding down.

Thank you SO much! I waited two months for my apartment to give me my washer and dryer and when I received it, my clothes simply were not drying. No matter the 4th or 5th cycle. Reggie (great name by the way- it is my name too!): I followed this video and: Well, I can hardly believe it: a heavy load of dark clothes is now dry in one cycle!! That ought to save money on the electric bill! Watch the lint screen retainer when you tip the unit over- mine fell down on the drum, but I was able to put it back into place without starting over! I have cussed this Maytag dryer for over 5 years! The outside vent was clogged in addition to all of the dryer parts. THANK YOU!

Reggie, I know we will never meet. But I want to thank you for this video specifically. I have been trying to diagnose our dryer issue for months and was too nervous to purchase parts because I want sure what the real problem was. The title of your video described exactly what was happening. I went outside and checked vent and sure enough it was clogged so much that no air was venting. I pulled out a ton of lent and wet lent and now air is blasting out. You saved me multiple hours and over $200.00 in parts. Thank you so very much! May God bless you and your family.

Thanks for the video. I thought it could be a logged exhaust, but other videos were looking at solenoids and sensors before checking the basics. I cleaned the lint from the line and gave it a try to see if that was all that was needed. It was. Your saying that 90% of this problem you've seen is a blocked exhaust saved me the trouble of taking apart the dryer to test components.

You are an angel for making this. I live in an incompetent apartment where maintenance has tried to fix the dryer 3 times without checking the external vent or the internal vent. The biggest clue I have is that, 1, I watched him work and, 2, they replaced the dryer once, and, 3, maintenance used to live above me and he said that his dryer takes multiple rounds to dry and that he doesn't know why, that it was "normal" for this building. Nice guy, but I'm not accepting that answer when he hasn't tried to clean them. So I appreciate this so much. It hasn't dried properly in 4 years and I am so worried about a fire.
