Dear, great job, congratulations. This video helped me to understand better the new features of Archicad 24, this software has a lot of possibilities. Keep going mate!
Nice one mate! I think Graphisoft is really getting on board with BIM Management now, not just the modeling tools. It’s all about ISO 19650 integration as far as I can see, which is good.
@@DavidTomic, mostly small stuff like titlebars still behaving kind of wacky compared to AC22, but still better than AC23. The biggest problem has been an increased frequency of random app crashes that I can't really identify any common behaviors. I've also found the Cadimage tools are not fully functioning in AC24 just yet. Coverings, kind of work. Keynotes are working, but I can't get the text in the keynote to stay upright when moving the note to being on the left of the leader instead of right. Doors and windows in Cadimage are not working at all. The biggest lacking element is no AC24 plugin for Twinmotion just yet, though I'm sure that will be coming soon. I upgraded because the ease of natively linking Revit files as x-refs from consulting engineers saves my engineers time makes it valuable on my current biggest project which is a 320 unit apartment building.
Thanks for the feedback David, that is all very solid advice. We use all those features and have been having issues with keynotes for AC23 since we upgraded, so most of the staff will be use to deal with that sadly. Lack of integration to twinmotion seems odd as I've already downloaded TM2020 which only works on 24? Haven't tried to link the files yet so that could be the issue. A very nice project! Hoping 24 makes it a lot easier for you to communicate with the engineers, get the job done quicker and make a good profit on the job 😉
Thanks for sharing your video. I’m a long time user, since v4.0. ArchiCAD continues to be my personal go-to at home, even though I work in a Revit office. However, I suspended my subscriptions and updates with v18 for one reason. Keynotes. Keynotes, like dimensions, are fundamental to construction documents, and should be native to ArchiCAD without the expense of any 3rd party add on, such as CADImage. Revit clearly wins that round. Keynotes has been a “wishlist” item since v4.0, but continues to be ignored by GraphiSoft. I did watch your previous ArchilCAD vs. Revit, and agree with your conclusions. Ultimately, ArchiCAD speaks the language of architecture with regards to its UI. Revit does not. We use Lumion 3D for our office Revit renderings, but will check out the other engines you noted. Great vlog!
Thanks for the comment! I agree with you about keynotes. The cadimage plugin isn't exactly the best, so many glitches. Would be good to see it natively in archicad but cadimage makes too much money haha
Great video. Whats the general opinion on monitor for archicad 24? I want to upgrade archicad (have 19 and 15 - still love 15 ha) and have dual 32” Samsung monitors but isn’t clearest and doing my eyes in. Is it better to get a curved large screen 49”? Or stick with two separate monitors? Cheers
I haven't had the luxury of trying out param-o yet so I skipped it on purpose. I didn't want to just talk about it would experiencing it. Ill definitely be checking it out and making a video about it when i know more
PARAM-O is still Windows only. I tried it out and I'm a bit disappointed that Graphisoft is still not learning from Revit and its built-in parametric family creation tools that make custom parts so much easier to create. PARAM-O is a bit too heavy on the algorithmic-based Grasshopper / Rhino functionality which I find less than intuitive.
@@DavidTomic Oh, I am absolutely dreadful at it 😂. No, it's going, THANKS. I started and that's big for me. From here on out, at least I won't be intimidated when REVIT gets mentioned.
Can I ask if ArchiCad is easy to learn when it comes to making outputs? I'm an AutoCADD/ SKP user for archi school and currently starting to get used to revit as well. It is not a common software used in our university. We often use Revit/AutoCADD/SKP
@@DavidTomic sir can you recommend any tutorials about railing and stair tool kinda stuck at editing them the way i want to. I've seen archicad 20 stairmaker quite simpler than this new tools which is more complex.
Looks like a decent release. It doesn’t seem like it has a “must have” feature for 23 users who use archicad for architecture and Interior Design. We Have to wait for cadimage to update to make archicad usable anyway. Archicad 25 should be the version to look for when all these new features have time to mature and maybe they swing back to update more of the outdated blocks. Although I have not tested, 24 should also import revit families better so it’s easier to expand the library of real objects.
Most archicad owners have a free upgrade licence, so once the major bugs a fixed it is a no brainer to update. If you wait more than 2-3 versions updating your templates becomes an issues in my opinion.
Nice video! Greetings from Brazil, I had a doubt about Revit and ArchiCad. In my city, BIM is something really 'new' and we're trying to catchup here. You have my like and sub!
Hello my friend! BIM is still new for a lot of smaller firms here in Australia as well. I think you will learn quickly. Stay safe and thanks for subscribing!
With the last demand of several important Architecture firms to the AEC of Revit, maybe many of Architecture Offices will change to Archicad. I hope so.

Also 2 main thing I don't like archicad, 1 is there is no elevation distance fading control, so all archicad elevation look "flat", 2 is the inability to export 3d pdf easily. Now all our document are in full 2d and 3D - interactive 3d pdf, BimX is just not good enough..:)
@@steedlei1 actually there is elevation distance fading. Look up Marked distance area in Archicad elevation settings. 2. I think the success factor cant be calculated on archicad 24 only. This will be a decade worth of data before a decision is made. The hope is to get new engineers just starting their business to use archicad from day 1 vs converting people.
Archicad is not easy to learn and you need TIME! You have to process a complex system and the foundation is GDL. AC10 Reference Guide was around 550 pages and AC23 is 3741 pages. You have to add GDL guide 729 pages, and calculation around 80...AC24 probably has more pages than AC23...Depends where you wanna go with AC, years are needed to become a power user. Learning to print a document from AC is easy but finishing the BIM project is not easy. Our job as architects as we know now will be over soon, AI will do modeling for us, based on simple text or voice input. Everything will be done in seconds, minutes. So I would suggest future readers "DON'T spend time learning something that will be obsolete in the next 5 years". Today is 30.10.2020 and that's my look at the future. I will be back here in 5 years to write did my expectations become true(I'm optimistic). Believe me, a new era is coming but what I really mean is - it is already here... Looking at AI that writes code based on simple English language input without "coding" vocabulary - amazing...When AI starts, it will be able to finish every architectural project in the world in a day! So do you need to learn AC or Revit...In the near future, definitely not, both software will be no longer valid or relevant. AI and I would do modeling in AC4 in a minute that you are not able to do in AC24 or Revit for days, week or months :) Imagine that... AI and I :)
