I know other people must feel the same as I do. I really look forward to Wednesday evening when I get home to watch another episode of you building your house. I really enjoy you guys. Keep up the good work.
European here, so genuine question: building with wood in so much rain - once the roof is on: are you going to run dehumidifiers for a while or are you able to just carry on building? Like the plywood floors look really soggy, I assume there would be mold growing eventually. Or will you have to replace those because they warp? You are doing a fantastic job, the amount of pacience and teamwork you two have is admirable. I'm already looking forward to the next video, as always. :D
The wood is very dry to begin with, yes it gets wet but not completely saturated( water logged ) When my family put their addition on the house you keep on building and if needed they use heaters and fans . But honestly I think the heater and fans were to make sure the concrete cured properly. The structure doesn’t spontaneously warp and there isn’t mold because it so open. They build year round here
The people who build houses professionally, have a crew of more then two working on that home. Give yourselves credit with huge delays and challenges and change orders, you two are doing it. And of course with the help of a few others at times. Your fantastic!👏👏👏

9:15 Fun fact: In Oregon, we use/rent goats to eat blackberry bushes (and, of course, if they have berries on them, ALWAYS pick those first for YOU to eat before using the goats).
We used to use them in many places I've lived in, including Los Angeles. You read that correctly. We used goats in Los Angeles, or rather in the suburbs north of Los Angeles. It's not far from the foot hills and the mountains, so there are areas of the surrounding areas, especially to the north and the west, that are pretty rugged. Also, we'd get a lot of wild critters through those areas as well. So much so that the old timers called it "Skunk Alley."
I can't imagine how chilly it is working in the cold and rain, so proud of you two for trooping through! Soon your home will be roofed, walled, insulated, and *gasp* heated!!

Thank you Jenn and Nick for another fun video on your house building journey. Will you take us on a field trip to the water's edge we all have been admiring? Speaking for your audience, we would love that.
We live about 45mins from the house they're working on. It wasn't just rain, it was torrential rain! It sounded like buckets of water were being thrown on our windows. The gutters, even having been cleared a couple days previous, were running over and a sheet of water was coming down from them. Not working in that was best. Getting errands run was even better.

I found your channel because I wanted to learn how to sew and now I’m cutting out the pattern of the first thing I’m gonna make with my machine while watching you build your gorgeous house! Thanks for the inspiration 💓
7:57 Plywood is actually made with each layer's grain pattern alternating, so unlike natural wood, the grain orientation of the top layer isn't necessarily important for the strength of the board.
My thoughts too! Really, recently as in the past 24 hrs and I only live one mile from Canada now! It’s amazing how such a short distance can become a dream overnight! 💙
Jenna, watching you work with tools now, I knew you’d adapt easily to this craft. You already mastered knitting, crochet, and sewing, it’s no surprise. Creatives tend to pick up a lot of skills. Do you enjoy learning carpentry? Just think. After this, you could build anything!😁
From crochet to construction!!! It may not be a big deal for you or maybe you already know. But Jenna I love seeing how equally involved you are in the construction process. I love these videos, they're a welcome distraction from all the hard things that are happening right now. What's going in the middle of the roof? Is that going to be a giant skylight? Also, I'm afraid of heights and every time either one of you in near the edge of the roof I get so nervous for you. LOL! You're doing such amazing work, you should be so proud of yourselves!
I love this series so much. When I watch it I think about you two looking back on these videos years from now and seeing all you've accomplished together. Keep up the good work ❤
wow well done guys Nicks dad is brilliant as well i was nervous watching when you was all on the wet slippy VERY high roof you would never know it was your first build fantastic job guys really is 😍
I thought the whole point of plywood is each ply has a different grain direction for strength, I guess the top and bottom layers make more of a difference though
Go Jenna! Go Nicky! While your view of the water is spectacular, I’m starting to see how the view in the other direction will be very nice as well. With the stones and the garden in the pool and the modern architecture. It’s coming along so nicely.
10:36 not to sound preachy but something nice to do with some of them would be to hand them out to your local unhoused population or a women’s shelter for the kids there, if you have extra it might be nice to share around the goodness in the world when we are really needing it
Even though that roof edge is a bit terrifying, you all do such a good job of being safe in approaching it! I feel like I can watch it and not be biting my nails the whole time! So excited that your house is coming together so well!

Keep up the good work ❤
the views are magical. its like a vacation home or something. love from germany
wow well done guys Nicks dad is brilliant as well i was nervous watching when you was all on the wet slippy VERY high roof you would never know it was your first build fantastic job guys really is 😍
I thought the whole point of plywood is each ply has a different grain direction for strength, I guess the top and bottom layers make more of a difference though
That is what I was thinking! The side he showed is only the top layer of many layers of wood, oriented in different directions.
Go Jenna! Go Nicky! While your view of the water is spectacular, I’m starting to see how the view in the other direction will be very nice as well. With the stones and the garden in the pool and the modern architecture. It’s coming along so nicely.
I am so sad today. Jenna and Nicky definitely made my day. I love your channel
Don’t be sad. I’m sure we won the house as well. 🇺🇸

@@RUclipsPremiumMemYes!
Hey , love your channel. I also love that you don't swear on camera. So refreshing. Keep up the great content. All the best from Ontario.
Your outdoor space is gonna be FAB!! 🥀🫐
Its incredible how far you have come! love the energy that you two have, its so cute an genuine
omg when nikky showed the water in his gloves...jenna's face! :)
I love seeing the before and after shots of what you guys have done so far and it's looking bloody brilliant!!
The view is so beautiful I am in awe in every video
Wow, that view. It gets me every week! You’re working hard, but it will be worth it.
My friends who are construction workers work outdoors late spring til mid fall then they move with indoor for cold and snow season 👋👋
I love your happy music! It’s perfection.
I love your cow avatar.
You realize the grain changes direction on every ply, so it doesn't really matter what direction the grain is going, because that's only the top ply.
Love it!Looks so good and resembling a house!!!You all are doing it!!!!Blessings from Tennessee, USA!!!!Your way Southern neighbor!!!!
Thanks for yhis, those of us in the US need a wholesome distraction. 💙
America why you gotta be stupid? 😢
Not only in the US, I am in Europe and I can't believe how stupid over 50% of the US electorate is.
I can't wait for the content online with Trump voters whining about how bad life is, just like the Brexit voters that blame Europe for their own chosen misery.
I’m so sorry for how the election turned out. I think caring people all over the world felt a huge let down this morning.
It’s a day of celebration our republic is saved from the leftist derangement syndrome of the last 4 years
We love you 💙 This is just unfathomable.
Thank you for taking the time to film your process and for the amazing editing. Really looking forward to every video that is coming. Weirdly enough relaxing to watch :)
Keep it up!! I send you two some strength and hope🙏🏻
I sure hope you guys worked yesterday Nov 5, it was a absolute gem of a day in Vancouver - you could have put in a solid 10 hrs with the weather we had - even today is looking decent
Watching from the US. Your new home and garden are looking beautiful!🎉
