Hi David, thanks for making great Archicad videos! I was wondering if you’ve ever covered making a window/door combination custom made. I’ve always struggled a bit with getting a specific window frame with specific frames using the library components.
My experience with the archicad default doors/windows is limited because I use the 4D library for this, makes it very easy. But ill look into it and see what I can incorporate for you!
Hi! This is great help, starting my internship soon, so this is a lot of help👍🏼 but I cant seem to find how to see the dotet lines of the roof plan, when you are working in ground floor. It does not show the roof plan, so the end was abit hard to create, as there is no roof lines to follow when editing the ground floor.. Thanks
Hi David, thanks for sharing your knowledge! I have a slight problem, which I didn't manage to resolve. The shortcut for stretching/ connecting the walls is CTRL+I (11:30), what is it for mac version? It just doesn't work. What's shown on Internet in Stretch shortcut is CMD + H, but it just hides the window ) Please advise.
Hi Vladimir, the command on Mac is CMD + I to intersect the walls. You can also jump on my website and download a free archicad shortcut cheat sheet. Just click on products and wait 5 seconds. It has shortcuts for both pc and Mac on the same page :)
Hi Vladimir, I had the same problem and what I did was : go to the 1) Options, 2) Work Environment, 3) Keyboard Shortcuts... , then I found the intersection command and added the shortcut CTRL+I. Hope this works for you as well!
Hi David, great video. I was just wondering how to apply the information for the doors and windows schedules as shown on you plan, such as the window sizes and W1. Thank you
Hey David, as many others that commented below, your magic CTRL+I shortcut doesn't work for me. What I find confusing is that you don't mention the name of the actual tool that shortcut represents. Can you say what tool it is and where to activate it manually? It's a very useful command.
hi David great video love your tutrials can you make one about the wall tool... I mean how to create a custom wall with my materials and hatch, be able to see them differently in different scales get in to the core of the wall creation?
hey David! I am supposed to be designing a music studio for my uni project in Archi CAD. Could you suggest the wall and ceiling materials I should be using for soundproofing the studio?
31:05 Hi David, thanks for your very helpful tutorial video, a quick question, this 750 minus commend thingy you mentioned doesn't apply to my model, and idk why. Is it a new feature in ArchiCAD 25? mine is ArchiCAD 24
@@DavidTomic I tried again and it works now lol, I reckon the kinda reason is I didn't take the edge snap to the target edge so the input figure made it to the wrong place
These are great thanks David. I missed the part where you confirm how you duplicate an object multiple times with one click i.e clicking a window once and duplicating x 4 - what is the shortcut? When I do CRTL + D > CTRL + ALT it only does 1 x copy. Thanks
Hey Sian. When you please ctrl+D you'll see the cursor change. When you tap the alt button it will go from 1x + sign to 2x + signs. When you see the 2x plus signs then just keep clicking :)
I've got a video coming up next Monday showcasing all the shortcuts. I also teach how you can map your own shortcuts, this will be the best way to solve your problem :) stay tuned 9.30pm wst next Monday
Hello i am trying to follow your tutorial.. my questions are: 1) How do u get the specs for windows and doors appear on screen 2) How do manage to have the section cuts appear on your screen 3) when i click wall i did not manage to find ‘external wall’ only but i only see structural - bearing.. Thanks for the tutorial though i manage to follow most of the steps
Hey! 1. It is in your drawing settings (check the pallet at the bottom and change from sketch to design development for example) 2. Sections are on by default, check layers? 3. This might be a layering thing on your template, CTRL+L and just make the new layer..make sure you update the layer view so it doesn't disappear everytime.
Thanks for tutorial, will be amazing if you can make more full size and keep your thumnail on corner so we can see more clear on icon or detail , thanks broo !!!
@@DavidTomic The ctrl+I is not working, also i couldnt find this shortcut in the Archicad browserlist for shortcuts. Whenever i press ctrl it doesn't join =( other then that, great tutorial!!
Yes it is possible, more of a BIM management system then anything. It does require a LOT of work to set up and even more work to maintain. Not something I have personally completed as I feel a good understanding of construction and general cost per square meter rates are a better estimate then wasting a lot of time doing the builders/QS’s job for them. Lots of resources out there for $/m2 depending on construction type to give you a relatively good starting point :)
Hi, David I have problem My archicad it opens but 2D drawings don't show but 3D shows...but also Elevations don't appear also....cab you help me in this?

Hi David. Thanks for your great content.
I have a quick question.
How would you apply a wall end to the top of the blade wall? Thanks.
Hi Darren, I don't think you can. You have to create a roof or use the slab tool.

You can use the grid guides but they are never 100% straight and will always cause you problems. Nothing like what rhino has
were is the part with the grass on the roof?
It is part of the render, not the design
