- A video of an Edelweiss Airbus A340-300 aircraft taking off from Zurich is grabbing attention online. In the footage, the plane sinks almost immediately after takeoff before recovering. While an investigation from relevant authorities will determine the cause of the drop, some theories are floating around on the internet, along with light-hearted jokes about the aircraft’s reputation for being underpowered.

Engineering marvel flying with 5 APU's
Lol I'm ded. ☠️☠️☠️
That's brilliant! LoL!!!!!!
Trent APU
Unbelievable 😧
B52: Hi
Some variants may be underpowered but certainly one of the safest aircraft ever built and operated, and the 340-600 one of the most stunning passenger aircraft of all time😉
The 500 and 600 are not underpowered only the 3 and 2 are underpowered
Just because the A340 is uNdErPoWeReD doesn't mean it's always underpowered
If this had happened in the US, media would blame Boeing for it
bro a340 is airbus.....
Yes, hahaha
Or united😂
@@duddillakapish3281 That's the joke 🤦
Right, cuz Boeing hasn’t been screwing up right? 🙄
A340-300… the plane without V2 speed
When you gained your training and flying skills at Aero Sucre... 😉
😂
AeroSucre is the most reliable source for insane aircraft footage, always producing more crazy takeoffs and landings for our entertainment 😂
Our national pride 🤣🇨🇴🛬
PF: "Alright let set VR speed on MCP"
A340: "V…what?"
Not that surprising when this particular Airbus A340 is fitted with the 5 APU option
A343... enough said. Damn thing only takes off because of the curvature of the earth.
Explain that to flat earthers 😂
😂. You guys are funny!
nice joke... very original.
Hey. Atleast it recovered, what's the 737MAX excuses 🤷🏼♂️
@@droppingemstv4283 lol
Nooo, yet another airline that will retire their A340s soon. But it is clear, that there is no much time left for this Legend ❤
Cue the APU and curvature jokes. I suppose somebody, somewhere hasn't heard them. Must be new to aviation.
Curvature jokes are lost on flat-earthers 😅
It looks those hair dryers kit can be purchased at Walmart or Target. 😂 😂
Could happen to any aircraft
Especially the a343 😂
longer gear and 4, GE90’s. That would certainly stop the underpowered jokes.
5APU是这样的
I'd ever flown A340 three times. First, from Jeddah to Cairo on July 2008 (Egypt A340-200), then from Taipei to Vancover in May 2012, and last from Vancouver to Taipei (both with China Airlines A340-300). Luckily, I didn't get any underpower on A340s. It's also Airbus' fault at the time why did they not consider CF6-80C2 or 80A to power their first A340.
To be honest from how slow the takeoff is I believe it is high winds even possible windshear
Windsock at the beginning of the takeoff is completely lifeless, my friend.
negative windshear early rotation or wrong configuration. These things happen
None of these things. 🙄
...it had some "body-positive" North American passengers on-board.
Dang I just found out I was on the aircraft involved in this almost 2 years ago. Belalp is the name.
Powerful wind shear...
Under or over power is not function of pilot, its the designers point of calculation.
Is my friend still OK😮
Imagine what people would say if that was boeing
✈️
Wake turbulence, or windshear surely most likely.
Seems so. It definitely had the lift with the main gear left the ground.
Who is going to blame Boeing for this one?
ME! Haha. I hate Boeing LOL!
If it's Boeing, I'm going....to be scared sheep less 😅
The A340 is CRIMINALLY underpowered.
not the -600 tho
Only the -200 and -300 variants tho
@@vincugames fr
@@vincugamesnope. None of them are underpowered. Just people claiming that who don’t know any better.
Honda Civic with out the VTEC
And turbocharger
Looks like pilot error to me, probably spilled his drink
What did they expect when they had "body-positive" Americans on-board...?
Why wasn't it ever reengined tho ?
the successor variants, the A340-500, A340-600, don't have this limitation.
They maybe underpowered, but with 4 engines instead of two, they're also one of safest aircraft to fly in.
If it were Boeing, they were going....to crash 😮
the pilot was former aerosucre's pilot...😅

Those hair dryer engines are 🗑️.
That’s why hairdryers should not be on planes
The nose dropped
