    Josh, I'd like to let you know about something that happened to us on our recent 3-week vacation. On the first night of our trip, we had a bedroom slide failure on our Outdoors RV 280KVS. I called Bish's in Idaho Falls and spoke with Cameron Osborn. Cameron was super understanding to my situation and offered to help me with the manual override on the slide controller. Once I arrived at Bish's, Cameron came out and looked and noticed that the override button on the controller PCB was missing! He had the part in stock but since that store wasn't an ORV dealer the part would cost me...not wanting my vacation to end, I said go ahead. While waiting for them to get the rig in the shop, I phoned ORV. The Warranty manager at ORV spoke with Cameron and ORV agreed to pay for the repair! I didn't buy this rig at Bish's, but their staff went out of their way to help me in a desperate situation. I've bought RV's from Bish's in the past and wish I had bought my last one there. Thanks again to Bish's in Idaho Falls, and especially Cameron Osborn for going out of his way to help!

    This is gorgeous …. The kitchen is awesome & I love the bathroom… 1 sink is enough … I would rather have 1 sink & tons of counter space! I feel the same way about the cabinets in the bathroom . I’d rather have cabinet doors to cover whatever I’d put in there. Great video .

    When you first showed the kitchen...I was like....what? Wait! There isn't an island! It looked kinda bare. But the pull out peninsula was very cool!!! I like the pantry too!!! I agree....take a couch out of the living area and put a nice desk setup there. I know a couple of manufacturers are doing that very thing. I believe Riverstone is one. I am sure Jayco will be too soon. I wish this had medicine cabinets and doors for the bathroom cabinets. Doesn't make sense to me. I would put more than towels in the cabinets. And I am going to keep preaching this....we need night stands! I can't be the only one who has a bunch of stuff next to their bed and needs a place to put it. Bottle water, tissue, a book, etc. Jayco is one of my faves and so this is just a very nice unit! Thanks for showing it.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  2 года назад +1

      Agree 100%. At first I felt a bit underwhelmed. Then I found that peninsula. I don't think I'd use the extended cutting board often but It's nice to know the option is there.

  • @chrischapman276
    @chrischapman276 2 года назад +3

    Oh my...
    This is very very nice!
    The storage, the kitchen, the way it's elevated is just what the boss/wife has been ordering me to look at! She just HAS TO HAVE the separation between the rooms, just like this!!!
    The wood wall board in the living space is awesome!
    This may actually be the one that we end up having to buy new oppose to the previously owned model
    Only thing we'd change is the passenger side sofa will be a desk Also something the overlooked is the counter space next to the stove. That is something that is needed IMO. Then the dishwasher space looks doable. Washer/dryer is important as well for location.
    No island is rnice with the pull out option to be there for the open floor space. Love the bar stools counter overlooking the living space. We both say it should be like that in all the end kitchens we've looked at.
    FINALLY!!!! Hidden control panel behind the door!!! That's such a pet peeve of ours... not hiding the panel in so many models!!
    The color scheme is awesome as well! The dark interiors make the coach so.... well.... dark!
    All this with a bathroom that's not too small but not too overbearing either. They probably could have thrown in a second sink but really.... I don't remember the last time she and I were using sinks in our master bath now at the same time! I do like to have the shitter hidden a bit more though.
    The side shelf in the shower!!! priceless! So many don't have one installed and it's just not right! Maybe put doors on the side storage next to the door/shower.
    And then, as I"m writing my liittle review and watching at the same time we get to the bedroom...
    A dresser!!! YES!!! The closet is great but having a real dresser is so important that so many manufacturers seam to not remember to add in so many models!
    The colors. The valances. The floorplan. And Jaycoi is who did this... It's a WIN!!!!
    Sure like to see the rack and pinion slide concept used more. I feel a lot safer with it than the other types.
    (Wow... I need to just shut up here. It's tuning into a novel!)
    Waiting patiently to see if you're gonna talk money on this one....
    "Verbal constipation".... PRICELESS AND STOLEN FOR MY FUTURE PROBLEMS OF THE SAME SITUATION!

    This is an extremely nice unit. The only thing I am not a fan of is the super low ceiling height in the slide over the stove. It makes me feel like I need to stand further back or duck down into the opening to see what I’m cooking… That aside, the storage and extended cabinet (like a Class A) is great. Stunning bathroom - lots of space and nice colors.

    • @SheilaR.08
      @SheilaR.08 2 года назад

      Agreed. I'd also get rid of the little window above the stove and add some sort of storage, like hooks for cooking utensils or a magnetic knife rack. A pot rack, if doable with the hood, would be ideal. It's beautiful, but a few tweaks would make it perfect.

    I love this unit except for 2 things. I think the Tv placement is to high on the wall. I understand why so that you can put devices on the shelf below to connect to the TV. The second thing is for me it didn’t seem like there was enough countertop space next to the sink to lay out dishes to dry. Overall though it’s impressive. Thank you Josh for showing it to us!

    This, this is a very, very nice 5th wheel unit. I don't even mind the darker accents and trim on this. North Point/Jayco/Thor is doing some wonderful things in the industry - as usual. I kind of agree with a previous comment about the location of the floor vents, but I also understand the maximum/minimum engineering these things have to go through in order to maximize the functionality of these internal systems. Just throw a rug over them when not in use. I don't even mind the open pocket storage in the bathroom on this one. Towels, butt-napkins, etc. would ride okay in there. The best part of what Jayco does - no plaid. LoL

    Wow! I used to think Grand design built the most beautiful fifth wheel but this is absolutely amazing. I would have to put a small ramp up into that rear kitchen so I could walk it up to use it being so that I'm not able to do steps but once you get in that kitchen who would ever want to leave! It's absolutely the most beautiful RV kitchen I've ever seen. Not only is it functional but the finishes are absolutely gorgeous. The only small changes I would make would be to add pull out drawers to the cabinets that flank that pull out Island. Aside from that, the only other change I would make would be to swap out the vessel sink in the bathroom for a standard sink. I realize I would lose a bit of storage but I'm okay with that as I just find vessel sinks very difficult to use sense standing is difficult for me. And yes, some coverage for the linen storage in the bathroom would be ideal. If a door wasn't an option, at least some cargo netting to hold in items other than towels would be very helpful. Otherwise you might have to utilize that extra hallway cabinet for bathroom storage. Otherwise this is absolutely perfect! Thank you so much for showing this to us, Josh.

    Swapping a couch for a desk would be a nice option. In rigs with conventional dinette or table and chairs, I think a desk option in many of those spaces would be great instead of taking away from the seating in the living space.

  • @funnlivinit
    @funnlivinit 2 года назад +3

    I do like this layout. But, I think that there are a couple of near misses in the kitchen. First; There needs to be enough space next to the stove to set a skillet down. Having to turn all the way around to set something down is just stupid! The same goes for the sink. Where do you set your dirty dishes down? If they're just piled in the sink then it's pretty hard to wash them. I do however, really appreciate not having the microwave above the stove. I always hit my big head against it. (I'm hyper-vertically challenged like you!)

    My only 2 nits about this unit. Yes, there is space around the range. But there are also exposed walls. Can one of these manufacturers that put the range in a niche like this please put a grease/stain resistant material in that space. And yes, please put doors on that storage in the bathroom.

    I LOVE IT!!!!! I have seen the Redwood rear kitchen one and this one has it beat. It has more basement storage, more slides and the outdoor fridge. I kind of agree about the dually with the rig. Mine is the single axle one ton with a towing rating for 2,200 pounds. But with the extra basement storage, people are tempted to overload the rig. Great find!!!!!

    What a beautiful RV. Somehow I would need more counter space by the stove though. If they flipped the kitchen slides, then the sink, stove and some counter space would be closer together. As a person who likes to cook, that would make it perfect for me. Well, except that it is too long and weighs too much for our truck. We can dream though!

    You know I love Jayco. This thing is a beast. I haven't been able to watch as many of your videos as I would've liked to. I appreciate your efforts and love the new products that are available to you. I hope this isn't a sore subject or to personal to answer, but you're bouncing from Oregon to Michigan and other Bish's locations. Are you able to get some you/family time? Between recording the videos, uploading, answering questions on RUclips and other platforms, you are busier than a team of construction workers building 5 massive skyscrapers. I get it, you have to work, but you also have a daughter and wife. I know I said a lot, and again if it's to private or personal, it's okay. I just hope you don't burn yourself out. I want to see you continue your videos on this channel, but I don't want you to overdue it.

      Not a sore topic at all - in fact I appreciate the care and concern :)
      Short answer: Yes. Yes I am.
      In fact Bish's has been really great about encouraging that. The Bish's team has lived up to everything they said they would do when I signed on. I'm still running this channel in the way I see fit, I'm able to basically set my own schedule as long as the work keeps getting done, and in fact I may be getting something of a direct support/assistant in the future to help me better balance my time
      monthly I have a meeting with our VP of Marketing. Had one yesterday actually. He kind of took me by surprise after we had discussed business for a while and asked "Okay so... are you happy?"
      It actually caught me off guard they cared and wanted to make sure I felt fulfilled in what I was doing. Then, he really shocked me by asking "So what about your wife? Is SHE happy? Is SHE okay with you traveling around and everything you do for us?"
      Answer to both was yes. Have taken several extended weekends away with my family this weekend and it's been a blast so far.
      Lot of work? Sure. That's what work is. But rewarding

    Love the kitchen! Any concern with the fridge being wiggled & jiggled during transport?
    Desogn question...what if they got rid of the sofa and slide by the entrance? That would still provide good seating for company inside but provides great roadmode plus better awning coverage for enjoying the outdoors which is why most people go camping isn't it? The kitchen slide is shallow enough that it shouldn't interfere with much of anything.

    Josh another great video. We currently have a rear kitchen model and love it. Our fridge is secured on the passenger wall. The location of this fridge will have items slide forward when traveling and when you open the door you may have to catch items. Not everything in the fridge can be stopped from sliding forward with the fridge bars. And the prep space is way away from the stove/oven.

    This is a beautiful rig and it would be lovely for full-time living or placed permanently on a private site. I have a few problems with it though. That kitchen looks larger than my current kitchen but the space isn't utilized as nicely. There needs to be more space around the stove and a u-shaped back/side splash. I personally think they need to swap the positions of the stove and the microwave. If I'm putting something in the microwave, I've already prepped everything and the space they provided is adequate. If I'm cooking on the stove top it's likely that I still need to add things to the pan after it's on the heat and I need space next to the stove to make that work. I'm also find that having the stove closer to the sink is preferable.
    If this rig had flush slide floors I'd love to swap one of the couches for a desk. Which couch would depend on how I use the rig though.
    I'm not a fan of vessel sinks, I'm rather short and those sinks are just awkward to use. I understand a regular sink would take up some of that glorious storage space but in my case it would be worth the loss.
    Does this rig have an on-demand water heater? If not, then it should. I must have missed you mentioning it. That shower stall looked wonderful and with on demand hot water I could probably stay there longer than I should.
    I do love the fridge and that the outside fridge will work in transit if necessary.

    Over all a very nice unit, good storage both inside and out. Floor plan is good and I like the convertable closet for either hanging items or shelf storage. Misses, where will a CPAP machine sit? They need to consider that. Perhaps a shelf above the window but then you will need a place to plug it in. Since this is setup as a couples unit, which is what I need, the eating situation is adequate. But, is that table elevated table portable?

I'm not sure about that oven range placement though, and I think I'd prefer that microwave at ground zero, with shelf area above it, not below as it's configured there. To be fair - it's not just them. But yeah.. MSRP values have gone crazy. Sale pricing has jumped as well obviously. I was looking at our pricing files recently and noticed we are working on _surprisingly_ slim margins on these things right now to keep them moving
      Even so.. pricing has gone up without question. Our margins are just quite low currently

    Agree, the desk would be a great idea. However, it’s too bad none of the slide floors are flushed. That’s a deal breaker for me.

    I would add the desk by the door. When both beds are made out no one from the master bed can get to the kitchen.

    This is exceptional! So well thought out. It’s just beautiful and it has everything I could ever want for full time living. I tried hard to find something I didn’t like about it……**crickets**
    The best part? I can tow it with my 2011 F150!!!!!! The pin weight would be perfect🤣😂

    Love this floor plan. I agree about the bathroom shelving, it needs doors, also the chairs for the cutting block pull out look too short. You look like your chin would rest on the table. Also would prefer pull out shelving in the microwave slide due to how deep it is. Would be nice if the bedroom had more space between wall and bed. Also just wanted to know if there are any plug ins on bathroom vanity? Both sides would be nice As we have plug in toothbrushes,plus of course hair dryers,etc. just my 2 cents worth…

      2023's put doors back on the bath cabinetry which i love! :)
      Bath vanity itself doesn't have plugs but there are some nearby

      OR.. take a look at the Solitudes we carry. They also make a very similar layout with a very warm wood tone interior

    I want to love this kitchen, but it has two serious dings. For how big the space is and how creative they designers got, they completely ignored some basic functionality for the people who take home cooking seriously. There really needs to be more counter space on both sides of the stove to place prepped and cooked dishes. Am I supposed to make a trip back and forth to the available counter behind me for ingredients and to get hot cookery out of the way while I'm whipping up meals? As for that sink, where am I supposed to put washed dishes?? The drying rack can't exactly go on top of the sink while I'm doing the washing afterall.
    At the price point of this RV, there should've been an island for the sink to be placed central (good for lefties and righties) with expandable flaps for more prep space and possible seating, the pantry should go next to the fridge in place of the sink, and the stove to go in the center of that slide (again, here for the lefties and righties) with full counterspace (including a pullout cutting board) and some consideration given to how annoying toe stub slides are.
    *Steps down off of my insulted-tiny-home-cook soapbox*
    I definitely have other dings for other parts of the RV, but my thumbs have run out of breath to grumble.

    For what this is, and that it costs, I'm really amazed they couldn't put doors on the bathroom cabinets, a cold AND hot spray port, and a bigger awning that covers the slides as well...oh, and no slide toppers from the factory? That all should be standard. So many awesome features yet it seems like Friday came and the design team said 'ok, that's good enough.' Something on this level and this scale should never have stopped at just 'good enough.'
    I love everything else about it but it just doesn't give me that all-inclusive 'warm and fuzzy' feeling about what I would end up getting out of it long term...if they cut such obvious corners, what else did they cheap out on that we can't see?

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  2 года назад +1

      It was a trend they tried adopting. Word is they’re going back to bath cabinet doors in the future

    R.I.P. Kool Aid man. Floor vents are infinitely worse than open bathroom storage. You could always just put doors on open storage, but covering floor vents invalidates them.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  2 года назад

      I get what you’re saying but as a counter point you don’t tend to cover floor vents permanently and tend to cover them when they’re not needed or in use

    • @Brigand231
      @Brigand231 2 года назад

      @@JoshtheRVNerd That's the point, you can't just cover them up or work around them forever. Eventually, you'll NEED them if the rig has them. Open storage can be altered without affecting the function of the RV. Hence, floor vents are worse.
