Thank u josh for explaining.
Great video Josh. This year it seems most any brand is on the same trend in terms of upgrading the step down trim level if you will. Personally, videos like this are awesome sauce for me. I like to see the comparisons between the models to get a better idea. You do a great job at explaining those differences as well as trends you see from a sales perspective to what your customers want. It’s not a sales pitch video at all, you have always been honest, truthful, and straight forward, in short, thank you for taking the time to do these great videos. 👍🏻👍🏻
The comedy tour was 👍 👌 But the information was much better. Your are the best😂😂
Thank you so much 😀
Awesome video. Thanks Josh!
First, comedy is ALWAYS welcome!! Secondly, I have been questioning this very issue and couldn’t justify the trigger pull on a Pinnacle. Great info and content considering not everyone can put hands on these beauties on a whim.
Here’s my amateur take on it... Eagle is the value leading fifth wheel for Jayco and great for the weekend warrior/sometimes trip taker.
Pinnacle is for the full timer OR 1/2 year snowbird who wants the bells and whistles but still not pay a DRV/Luxe-ish price tag.
North Point is the feature hybrid of the two. The quality of Eagle but a little smexier and beefier. You could certainly full time in one, but to me and for us, it is a higher end weekender. Anyway, for us, North Point is better than the normal production fifth wheel with little kisses of luxury smattered about.
Anyhoo, keep the educational videos coming. It really helps us research junkies! 😬
Basically 100% agree with this. All of it.
What’s your take on Pinnacle vs Solitude? That seems like the apples to apples comparison between brands.
@@RedShiftedDollar I have not done a "deep dive comparison" in the most recent generation, but previously any time I compared them I almost always found Solitude closer to a Montana or North Point than a Pinnacle
@@JoshtheRVNerd I would agree with Solitude and Alliance Paradigm being more in line with North Point in terms of luxury/features except for one thing: they are also 101 inches wide like the Pinnacle. Great video that explained things well, by the way.
Great yin/yang video. I'd love to see something similar breaking down other sub-bands, Cougar v. Outback v Laredo in the keystone travel trailer segment for instance
It's definitely my intention to keep more of these coming. I am just sort of caught in a holding pattern waiting for RVs to actually land here
Josh is an rv GOD. The commentary was a 10, and the comedy even better.
Ty so kindly :)
Thank you so much for this video! I was trying to compare the North Point and Pinnacle on my own, but you answered all my questions. I will be watching more of your videos as we get closer to our purchase date. Thank you!!!
Just compared these two yesterday. Being that the P is wider, one of the first things I noticed is that the shower pan is also wider in the P than in the NP. A big plus! Also, the storage units on either side of the couch at the very rear of the trailer are much wider in the P.
Great job again, Josh, explaining a difficult area of RV purchase. As you have said in the past, and one I use, pick the floorplan you want, everything fall into place. 102" coaches are the best for me. The Shower that Jayco now uses, ifs for me. I wish all manufacturers would "spruce there showers" Thank you again. The humor was great, made me laugh. 🤓🤓🤓🤓
Thanks for sharing!
Josh, You are fantastic. Wife & I bought the jayco fifth wheel 335 Rdok. We like it. Thanks for a great Pinnacle North Point comparison. Keep up the great reviews
Thank you for clearing that up we were very confused until now
Happy to help!
Great to see this video Josh. Some of the differences were hard to notice until you pointed them out.
I also noticed on the exterior awnings it's a white bracket/mechanism now. Thought the recent Pinnacles that I've seen were the darker color still. Not 100% sure though!
Awesome job as usual, thanks!
You did it again Josh! I was just trying to figure out the difference between the north point and pinnacle. When I get my 5th wheel, I'm definitely going Jayco.
Glad it helped! Hopefully we have also earned the opportunity to earn your business!
@@JoshtheRVNerd absolutely! I wouldn't be the first buyer to make the trek from California :D
camper slinky ..lol. Josh you never fail to make me laugh. Have a Great Day! Summit R.V.
TY TY :)
Great information. Thanks, Josh.
What a great, honest review and discussion. I live in California not Michigan, but when I finally buy a new Jayco RV it will be because of these videos. Thank you!
Very good video and you talk about things that people are interested in and can not get anywhere else 👍
Hey Josh. It's always fun and great information by you with watching your videos.
Thanks for doing what you do on here as we continue our "adventure" of our "painless and stressless" shopping for our full time 5th wheel.
I'm sure I can speak for a bunch out there and say what you,. along with the others do help many of us and diminish many of us' ignorance.
The steak and beverage invite remains when ever you make it out to south east Arizona!
Be safe. Be happy and enjoy life the best you can... it's the only chance we get!
Thank you Chris!
*WOW* !! *Keep making all of the comparison videos* !! *This is an EXCELLENT detailed comparison* !! *Glad to hear you think the lines are now a little more blurred between the two luxury fifth-wheel trailers* !! *Thank you Joshua* !! #HaylettRVReviewsNewsAndMore
Thanks for the video; I'm leaning towards a Pinnacle
Great video Josh, thanks my new favorite is the pinnacle.
Glad it was helpful :)
Two other things I noticed: Pinnacle has glass panels in the kitchen doors, NP are solid wood, and the showers are different. Pinnacle has the 'true' walk-in with a knee wall and glass 'splash guard', NP are a traditional door. (Can't tell I've narrowed my search to these two, can ya?!😋
Love them both, but need to see the new floor plans once Jayco gets them built 😉
Bro, I have to say that your videos were EXTREMELY helpful to my wife and I as we were looking for our next (and final) RV. The only reason I didnt come get it from you and is because I'm in SoCal haha. You do an outstanding job on your video breakdown / walkthroughs. And compared to your competitors, you stand out not only in this customer service, but also in price. This video was super helpful to us, as we coincidentally just bought at North Point. And compared the Pinnacles for a long time. Thanks so much for your hard work.
Thanks Jarrod! Since we were not able to earn your business, then would you mind sharing your appreciating for our efforts in a quick google review at www.haylettautoandrv.com/review-us/
@@JoshtheRVNerd Oh buddy! No, no, no! We totally were ready to come up there. We just found one a little closer is all. And since we didn't own a truck, it was just going to be a little more expensive, and therefore moving away from our budget, is all. We live in Southern California and it was going to be quite the ordeal to get to Coldwater. But trust me, if we didn't find this one from a private seller, we were certainly going to drive up there. My wife and I totally wanted to meet you man.
LOL! The hubs and I were just talking about this! We too live in SoCal and have been watching TONS of 5th wheel videos as retirement looms ever closer. Josh @Haylett RV Reviews, News, & More is our favorite! Good thing we're not closer or we'd be there every weekend dreaming and taking measurements.😉
I knew I liked the north point.
Your videos just keep getting better and better. Editing, etc...👍
Wow. Thank you. I've been feeling burnt out after this year. It's been brutal. Trying to redouble my efforts here to push forward and further! I appreciate the kind words!
This guy is awesome. RV slinky…
Edit: love the half second inserts every so often. Such as (Hair) during the bathroom showing.
😂
Thank You!!
Your are a great salesman. Makes me want to buy, even tho I am not in the market, currently.
That was an awesome comparison. I’m going to check your site for other comparisons between versions of other RVs and/or travel trailers. Thanks!
Great information Josh! We are currently moving from an Airstream Classic 30’ to an eventual Fifth Wheel! Considering a Montana but also thinking Jayco Pinnacle or Northpoint. Your video helps us distinguish between the two Jayco models.
This will likely help further!
m.ruclips.net/video/dY6OMUFkJvo/видео.html
11:40 I would think it’s much easier & cheaper to replace a trim panel than the entire wall of wall paper (+ maybe have to patch the wall too)‼️ 😉🤑🤷🏽♂️
fair
15:17 Gosh❗️Great Job Unlce Josh‼️ 👍🏽👍🏽
TY Sam!
Haylett RV Reviews, News, & More // that’s Uncle Sam 😉 🇺🇸 😆
You gave great details about them and just what we needed.
I have noticed a counter size change for Pinnacle with stove area. They're showing one on either side with overhead cabinets. Northpoint is not.
The details on the wood I never knew about. Thanks for all this!
I have always enjoyed your informative videos.
That's a good example of something that isn't a "brand" variance, but rather a floor plan variance. Kinda splitting hairs, but it's not a "Rule" in a pinnacle -- just happened to be true in some of their models.
@@JoshtheRVNerd absolutely and I hadn't looked at it that way. My husband appreciated your indepth details.
Thanks!👍
Josh - No comparison is complete without pricing. What is the difference in MSRP (base) between the two?
I found the MSRP spread below. Approximately $10-12k
North Point “points” towards the Pinnacle❗️🧭 😉
hah!
Josh, it's so easy. Let me show you. It's simply a powered electric power reel that powers the reeling of the power cable. Now some may ask how much power cable can the powered power reel reel; well it's really reeling as much power cable as can be power reeled on a powered reel. Really. Powerful, I know.
Keep the good videos coming
Always
Your comparison is spot on the Pinnacle is a step above ,I’m a Avalanche man and soon to be Montana or Alpine do a comparison of these.
Working on a North Point vs. Montana comparison... I had the montana-half done. When i stepped out to go work on the North Point footage our only in-stock North point remaining was gone. Sold and was leaving the next day.
So EVENTUALLY I'll get some extra footage as I can actually get my hands on some inventory
Great Scott!
Just watched Part 2 this past weekend
Never gets old
Awesome info, thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you! Now “I” cam explain to my Bride the difference the next time she asks. 🤓
How about “an electric cord reel”? Always love your videos.
Great suggestion!
Late to the party here, but you missed the small counter ledge and two storage cabinets next to the dinette on the Pinnacle. I don't believe that is an option on the North Point, probably due to the outdoor TV no longer being placed under the dining room windows on NP's.
Never too late for good info. TY :)
You're absolutely correct in your reasoning btw
One big difference is one of them levitates in the air according to the thumbnail. I want that one as I can pull it with my bike!
UltraLIGHTER lol
Very helpful. After touring a 23 Pinnacle I’m not sure all the sizzle is valuable. I want a functional linen closet with a door. I don’t want my garlic powder giving me a concussion. Montana got rid of that spice rack. Kudos. The 32RLTS has a coffee bar. But no power plug. What’s that counter for other than coffee? And I personally think the towel bars are absurd. Pipes. pipes!
Glad it was helpful!
This was a great video!
Another good video. I was wondering on comparable units, What would the weight difference be.
Pinnacle 32RLTS is about 13260lbs
North Point 310RLTS is about 12,475lbs
Pinnacle 36FBTS is about 14235lbs
North Point 387FBTS is about 13645lbs
Same sizes/layouts as done by both brands
Seems a fairly consistent "about 800lbs +/-" answer
Can you please tell me what makes a trailer or 5th wheel " ful time"? I would be happy I think with either one
Good question, Terry! There's no specific definition of what is/isn't a "Full Time RV." Rather, I use the phrase when a MFG's warranty has specific allowances for "Full Time RV'ing."
I've seen people full-time RV in 16ft mini campers. You can "full time" in anything. Some RVs simply have an additional warranty allowance.
Haylett RV Reviews, News, & More Temperature ratings anywhere from 0-32 degrees always seem to be associated with the “Full Time” RVs too.
Well done Josh. How about a comparison of the Pinnacle vs Montana? Specifically the 37MDQS vs 3854/5. Thx
I plan to do something like that, but primarily to clear up something: Pinnacle and Montana aren't the brands you should be comparing.
It's the North Point that falls in line with a Montana.
You'd more directly compare something like a Legacy Montana to a Pinnacle.
But it's in the works. I'll continue this series.
Thank you
Welcome! Appreciate you tuning in! Let us know how we can be of further assistance!!
"Jazzy pants" wasn’t that a Jane Fonda exercise routine?😜
I'm old enough to remember that Jane Fonda workout on VHS
I believe it was JAZZ HANDS. (According to my wife who used to exercise with Jane!)
14:16 you feel “ANGWARD” when you DON’T have a No Neck Wrecker positioned 📺 👀 ❗️😨
I suspect us detailed oriented folks love these types of videos. Good job!
Are there differences in the frame materials, size and construction between the two lines? Does the wide body of the Pinnacle dictate frame construction changes?
There would have to be a weight difference in two similar models with the wider Pinnacle using upgraded materials being heavier. Is the Pinnacle "beefier" so it does not sacrifice cargo weight to accommodate the upgrades?
Pinnacle's wide body does bring with it a wider chassis, but otherwise the physical construction methods and materials are identical between them except as noted in the video.
You are funny sir! Great comparison.
Jayco website still not updated 100%. Ballpark cost of paint option on Pinnacles?
Unrelated .....any idea of what the Freestanding table and chairs with bench seat will look like on the Eagles?
thanks in advanced.
Pinnacles are usually +8-12k more depending on model/equipment.
While the following link takes you to a 2020 Eagle video it will show you their table & Chairs setup: ruclips.net/video/FOHE5qeZnsY/видео.html
Yes!
But I’m talking about the new option for 2021. Freestanding 2 chairs and a bench seat!
@@estebanrodriguez5234 The table and chairs don't change. It just adds a floating ottoman/bench like you may have seen in things like North Point & pinnacle over the years.
What about length, weight, pass through size, and outdoor kitchen? Love your videos.
Those are all things that tend to vary by specific floor plan. This video isn't focused on unit-by-unit specifics, but rather the variances you'll see between the two brands as a whole.
3:58 North Point has a detached free floating ‘manual’ 50 amp power cord 🆚 Pinnacle’s an attached all-in-one ‘auto-winding’ 50 amp power cord‼️⚡️🔌 😉
You’re Welcome 😊
See, I gotta be careful with "Auto"
If I say that, then I get someone saying "But it isn't automatic -- you have to hold the button"
I think "PowerED Cord Reel" is the quickest way to say it, but it doesn't SOUND clearly defined when spoken aloud.
WORDS
I also thought that the pinnacle had a 10in drop frame compared to the 8in drop frame of a north point.
As North Points grew their chassis sizes have grown accordingly
You are so funny!!
Great video. How would you compare the Northpoint to a Montana? I have High Country and looking to upgrading to a Montana but now the Northpoint looks nicer. Thanks
So you're actually talking about *Three* different RVs here rather than two. The naming conventions in this business are sometimes confusing.
*First, "Montana High Country" vs "Montana"*
While they're both "Montanas" there are some definitive differences about them. They'll both have the same warranty, cold camp rating, auto leveling, etc. All the "MAIN" qualities will be found in both.
The names sound backwards though. A "High Country" is a Montana made for folks looking for something a little lighter in weight & easier on the pocket book for a lot of traveling.
By contrast a "Montana"-proper is the upscale dressed and pressed montana built for looks and feels. Weighs/costs a little more and has a few more widgets and whizbangs along the way -- but basically it's a lot of frosting on an already tasty cake.
*SO NOW THAT WE HAVE THAT ESTABLISHED...* Montana-proper vs. North Point
THESE TWO are head to head on the same level. I actually have HALF a comparison video on them completed. I walked into a montana, recorded my footage, and when I walked out my last north point just sold and I no longer had an RV to finish my work LOL
What it boils down to between Montana and North Point is EXTREMELY fine details. They both do ALL the important things either identically or in a functional equivalent manner.
Montana will have things like hardwood cabinet stiles and power outlets in the bed slides. North Point will have things like the little flip-up storage tops in the side stands/water system/removable XL cutting board.
Historically I would've always said "I think Montana is a better buy pound for pound" Despite being a dealer of both and if you look at the number of Montanas we carried vs north points you'll see that demonstrated.
But... in the updated 2021 generation... I dunno. It's *close*. I really put them on a level field. I don't think Montana slipped at all -- I think North Point simply stepped up.
Is there a way to have the outside tv on the North Point be on the side of the trailer like it is on the Pinnacle, instead of having the outside tv in the storage pass thru?
That’s not something we can request of them. It’s not technically impossible though
Really, really great video...thanks...the no hat look is the "smexy" look right?
Yeah. Sure. We'll go with that!
Ok.to call the 50 Amp power cord.....”A 12 Volt Powered Retractable Unit”. Would be nice to know how long it is?
Sincerely
Sparky
Cords are usually 20-25ft depending on the brand in question. Our team members are always happy to measure one out for you if you were considering offering our team the opportunity to earn your business!!
Can you get a paint job on a North Point? I know in here you said it comes the way it looks but I was just wondering why the can’t paint a north point?
No. Paint packages are reserved only for Pinnacle models. You'd have to ask Jayco as to why I suppose.
Difference in frame size? 12”vs10”, 10”vs 8” drop frame?
Hey I've got some questions for you I'm looking at a 2014 jayco eagle 5th wheel it's a bunkhouse what kind of problems are they known for at what I look at other than the obvious
That era wasn’t known for anything specifically. Very well respected for their builds there
Just watch the usual seam/leaks/west and tear
It's a powered power cord reel.
That's my preferred way of saying it, but VERBALLY it's easy to miss the "ED" in "powerED" for the sake of clarity
What about full time living
All Jayco Fifth Wheels include allowances for full time RVing
Flux capacitor lol
Which layout of North point are you in?
Looks like this one - ruclips.net/video/e2stp0kWQ_I/видео.html
Also looks like I was hitting the buffets a little hard LOL
Looking good!
Thank you! Cheers!
Hey Josh, did you find your hat?
I did. Thankfully.
Love that hat lol,.
What size truck will tow these?
You're in sold one ton country. The larger models may best be handled with a dually.
What is the MSRP spread between the two.?
We don't sell for anywhere near MSRP here, but the rough spread on a similar layout would be roughly 10 to 12k-ish
Is the 2021 Pinnacle bedroom slide deeper? 36"?
Not as a rule. Each line's slide depths can vary by floor plan
Does Jayco void the warranty or scale it back if you are full timing in a pinnacle that is rated as residential?
RVs have "Full Time RV'ing" warranties meaning you still spend a little time elsewhere, but can spend the vast majority of your time in the RV
RVs do not have "I live in it. It's my house" style warranties.
@@JoshtheRVNerd ok. Thank you
: )
