SPOILER ALERT [the full story according to the books]: If you read the 3 books, you'll see some key differences from them to the show. These 2 seasons are just the first book, and there, Juliette gets in contact with Silo 18 using the radio to communicate with Walker, to threaten Bernard, and also to talk to the other Silos! While the TV Show never showed that. Maybe in Season 3 they will reveal this (or not!). The second book is all about the beginning of everything.. How the Silos were build and why (the very last scene from the Season 2 might have showed the past before the construction of the Silos) and yes it has a political motivation. The third book is the ending. They found out Silo 1 is controlling all other Silos and Juliette is now the "mayor" and the leader against them in this war.. Aand that's enough of spoilers for today. I won't tell you the ending. Bye.
Decisions about who gets to live or die is much more sinister if made by humans rather than if it’s just AI (The Legacy).
Honestly, I'd be really curious to find out what happened to earth. Nuclear war etc.
