    Drink a shot every time our script says 'Silo'? By the end, we'll be more underground than the characters themselves!

    Why can't rebellion in silo 17 sent just one person outside to check if it's safe or not

    • @nadca2
      @nadca2 7 дней назад +8

      Unsure if this will ever be answered, but it is my belief that 17 IT told the sheriff about the safeguard. So they either had that option or to leave. They took their chances on living. "Either way, we're dead" he says, iirc

    • @isaacho8230
      @isaacho8230 7 дней назад +10

      As mentioned above, I think Russell told the Sheriff about the Safeguard shortly before the vault scene with Jimmy, which would mean the death for everyone if they stayed.
      Also, the generator had been flooded at that point so the Silo was already non-functional by the time they reached the airlock so it’s not really feasible to stay there.
      Finally, the crowd was simply too eager to go out regardless. What’s happening in Silo 18 in this season closely mirrors what happened in Silo 17. Sending someone out to investigate would be the rational approach and that’s what Mechanical wanted to suggest to Meadows before Bernard derailed their plans.
      This is because whoever was behind the Silos simply wouldn’t allow that. The safeguard was in place not to protect the people of the Silo but from them. If they had attempted to send a party out to investigate, the safeguard would have been initiated.
      The SOP for IT in a situation where someone fails to clean is to channel rebellion into something that the authorities can crush and blame Mechanical before resetting the population via the memory drug.

      They have enough evidence to believe it was safe so they all went out. Even if they sent one person out they would find it's safe then ask everyone to come out. But then the overseer saw them escape and sent the toxic gas to kill them all.

    EDIT: I think you're the first YTer that agrees with me. Russell must surely have made Jimmy his shadow at the last second so Jimmy could access The Legacy. I assume he just kept SOLO as the Shadow name but used Jimmy's voice and likeness. I have theories as to why, but I have book knowledge, so am going to keep mum.

    This is more a recap than an exploration in what really happened. I think the series is becoming more unbelievable as it continues. You have to ask why wasn't Silo aware of this family living in his Silo? He was aware of the water level rising which meant he occasionally ventured outside of his vault. So he when did, this family had to have seen and try to murder him. And he wouldn't have the nerve to leave his vault to help Juliette in her quest. In fact, he should have told Juliette that there were other survivors in the silo still there trying to get in his vault. It's inconceivable that this family knew that their parents died at the vault which meant they saw their bodies at the entrance of the vault and silo had no knowledge of them. Better yet, why didn't they try to take the bodies away and bury them in the garden there. Have they no respect for their parents? Also, what happen to the safeguard in Silo 17. The rebellion should not have gotten that far. The masters or the algorithm keeps tight control over each silo and should have initiated the safeguard to stop the inhabitants from ever leaving Silo 17. This entire concept is seriously flawed.

      I think he knew others were there and hoping they would kill Juliette, same reason he didn’t tell her about the other suit! He was hoping for her demise even though he needed her help

      It could and make a great story but we're seeing silo 18 start the rebellion now which is a repeat of 17. But we want to know how they died when they went outside. Was it radiation or nano bots or did a mysterious overseer gassed them all to death? Who would do that and why? Are they human or aliens putting humans in silo like ants in a jar to study them?

    • @jonfreeman9682
      @jonfreeman9682 7 дней назад +1

      Yes she said that meaning these kids really struggled to survive without any food. But how could they survive 50 years and how can they still be kids? The rebellion happened 50 years ago when Solo was a kid so how are these kids still kids unless they are kids of other survivors the same age as Solo who have died. This means these kids grew up outside the vault without a proper meal surviving off just rats for years?

      Didnt we also see overgrowing plantlife in silo 17, near the beginning of the season? I'm sure some of that is edible, and whatever isn't would be eaten by the rats.

    • @twinwankel
      @twinwankel 7 дней назад

      What did the rats eat to survive? We are lead to believe that there's nothing in the silo left. Rats have to eat something to survive these years. I think this is BS.

    The masters in silo 51 or 1(however you want to see it could be silo 0) saw the rebellion was out of control and enacted the safeguard which is the release of poison gas and nanites to purge the population. The can also detonate cutting charges which will cause the interior platforms or floors to collapse starting at 1 so the floors all collapse all the way down.

    • @jonfreeman9682
      @jonfreeman9682 7 дней назад +1

      It comes from generators on the lower level. There is a nuclear fusion reactor. In season 1 there's an episode showing how Jules repairs a generator about to blow up. There is a clothing department that makes cloth who had the book by Salvatore and Quinn. No it's not modern and tools are outdated. Just look at the computer terminals it's ancient.
