Watched it the other day for the first time. For what it is, it is good. Compared to most movies these days, it is very good. Agree that SAH only knows how to play one hammy character, who is not at all creepy/scary.
not a great film, i did not care for what anthony hopkins accent was since its modern day, and in a diverse country like the US to house it. had it been a specific character, historical figure like hitchcock, in a period piece or in a country where hes suppose to be a native/longtime immigrant of, then id judge it 1/2 as severely as Kermode, bless his nerves.

I thought primal fear was way better ! A lot more subtle

I thought this film had a really boring and unoriginal plot. The reveal was shit, a waste of hannibal lectar. Just terrible
