So great and i guess the drumkick is Steve Jordans Signature i heard it earlier too.. Justin... Did you also notice the abcense of Charlie or standing in front of the drumkit in the majority of the flashbacks in the videoclip.. We have to get used to that too i guess but Jordan does a great job... But once again this song is so under your skin immeadiatly as it was there for decades like Don't stop...

Musically I love it. Vocal wise I really have to let it land. Mick sounds great, but it’s the vocals are a bit too melodic and at the forefront if that makes sense? With all the big Melodys in the back as well, it feels like it does the guitar work a little disservice imo. But maybe it needs more listens

Songs like "Start Me Up," "Love is Strong," and "Honky Tonk Woman" they use rhythm guitar in a syncopated manner, creating a groove that feels like it bursts out unexpectedly, just a step behind the drumbeat, adding to the simple rhythm's excitement. The singing style, delivered with Mick Jagger's distinctive swagger, stretches the notes, seeking to dominate the empty spaces between the notes. It's a very easygoing song yet undeniably rock and roll. You can find and feel the essence & core of rock 'n' roll in their music.

I'm so glad we're getting this new material. After Charlie passed it was a sobering reminder that while many of us joke about the indestructible nature of the Stones (and Keef especially), they are mere mortals and there will come a time they are no longer with us. I haven't known an existence in which The Stones weren't there and frankly I've no interest in knowing one. Like them of loath them, there is no other like The Stones, nor will there ever be again.

You are spot on - the pre chorus is the weak part of the song. Once they get the harmonies going in the last chorus it’s just great

'I'm still taking the pills and I'm off to Brazil' is the lyric I think you are alluding to in the JHRA 'Angry' cover. Woman sprawled over an automobile is reminiscent of Whitesnake’s ‘Here I Go Again’ video, but in this case rather than two Jags, Sydney Sweeney is cavorting on top of a Mercedes. Song is in the key of E, and the guitar melody has a bluesy hard rock feel to it. Hackney Diamonds is a solid rock album from The Stones.

Just came here to say I didn’t know you were the guy who wrote “I believe in a thing called love” and that song has brought me endless joy.
This is also a classic stones song. Very impressive that they can crank this out

The last minute of it is just great. When they all sing BV’s, and just groove and have fun. Can’t wait for the album!😊 Mick just turned 80, they have nothing to prove

Big Stones fan, as this must be their last studio album, I was hoping for some old school attitude and legendary guitar licks. Gotta say I love it, with you on the pre-chorus sounds a bit out of place. Also loving the billboard parts of the video, really well done.

I had the absolute pleasure of hearing you Justin and the band play at Birmingham about 20 years ago when you opened for Deep Purple and were just arriving on the scene as they say. I think Lynyrd Skynyrd were on the same bill. I was completely blown away by that set the Darkness did and still a great fan of what you do and what you bring to my ears and eyes. As for this new release from The Stones, amazing. Right back to what they do best. Simple, catchy and instantly from the first note you know its them. They have always been in my life, as I'm fast approaching 70!. This reminds me of everything they did through the late 60's and 70's and its brilliant!

Yes, I agree. This is totally strange because we know this is the last time we'll hear anything new from the Stones with Jagger and Richards alive so.... really weird

The Stones are primal and tribal rock harkening back to our pre historic days of dancing around the fire naked on a solstice feast. This song is organic as is with the best of The Stones. It’s perfectly imperfect just as life itself is. Not to discount those who seek musicians that strive for perfection, but if there was a band that summed up the sound of what it means to be human, these 4 souls are they.

I do agree with a lot of these comments. Is that a bit of auto-tune or distortion/saturation on Mick's voice? God help us! I could do without that. I also agree that the pre-chorus (if that's what we're calling it) is weak. Love the piano part for a second or two there. The solo is not much to write home about. The video is ruined by the girl on the car - otherwise I love the billboard idea. Finally, I feel badly criticizing this at all - I've been around since the days of The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, and I'm happy to see these guys still here! They are so familiar it feels like home. I'm just happy for them mostly. Very finally, I would love a Stones song featuring Paul McCartney and Ringo before it's too late.

I think the song is OK.
I wonder how excited the world would be about this song if it had just been released by, for instance, a Stones tribute act who wrote some of their own stuff?
It’s got a bit of an ‘Undercover of the Night’ feel, which is a GOOD thing.

This song is a certified banger. When I heard they were making a new album I really didn’t care much as I expected it to be incredibly mid (as it is with basically every old rock band who makes a new album), but this track is amazing. If the whole album is even half as good as this song, I could easily see this being their best record since Tattoo You in 1981 😂
