I was thrilled to see The Charismatic Voice analyse your vocal, but it totally made my afternoon to see that you responded. This was awesome. Thank you 🙂
Don't let "not being able to read music" stop you. For singers it's just sight-reading. The little dots let you know up or down, the Italian lets you know the "how" (softly, loudly, etc.). Your ears will let you know the cues. One, two times through, you'll get it. If I could pick it up in High School as a metal head, you can get it. It's the singing part that's hard and you're an ace, bud.
I've seen a lot of her videos and recently discovered she's a professional opera singer with an insanely powerful voice. Suddenly all those reactions holds more weight.
@@JustinHawkinsRidesAgain She also does a Tea Time with various vocalists that she reacts to should contact her I think it would be fabulous to see you two interacting you singlehandedly got me back into singing again after seeing this video all those years ago thank you very much
It is refreshing to see two people building each other up on these two channels. I know it's cliché, but there is way too much of the other thing these days, so this exchange is a bright spot. I have always loved this song; it was perfect for its time.
Ah the humour is alive and well here, that said Elizabeth is an awesome woman, insanely talented to boot. Her reaction videos are the stuff of legend as she really gets into it, you can see it in her body language and facial expressions, just a sweet human being she is.
Critiquing someone who critiques. Bloody awesome. Put my critiquing on critique streams to a new level lol. The charismatic voice is a great channel for my vocal learning. It also led me to your channel. Great to see your still around and active. I loved the darkness. Cheers. ✌️
Watching Elizabeth get into rock and metal over the last few years has been amazing. She's done some great interviews with the likes of Tati from Jinjer and has put a camera down the throat of the Lorna Shore guy. Her channel is essential viewing!
I was hoping for this reaction video and sha-bam, it was swiftly delivered. Two of my fave Tubers, in back to back videos. We are truly living in a golden age.
The sense of humor of J-Hawk definitely cracks me up. Flipping between, taking a compliment and some humility. Not taking everything too seriously while being tremendously talented.
Your voice has the best ranges I've ever heard and could rival Freddy Mercury's. I can't carry a tune in a bucket so hearing your vocal capability is literally mind blowing. You deserve so much more notoriety simply based on the level of humanity that you approach music with. The music community needs more of your gift for sure.
This was awesome to see, Justin is hysterical. I still remember blasting this song at top volume on my way home after a double shift at work and realizing that the car next to me was blasting the same song, so we all sang along as we rode down the street in the middle of the night.
My two universes have combined into one! This is like a DC/Marvel movie collaboration but BETTER! I have been watching both of your RUclips channels for the last couple of years so this was awesome to see.
You are SUCH a lovely human, musician, and man. Not necessarily in that order. Thank you so much for responding to TCV’s video, absolutely charming and informative and Funny. What a fucking gem. 🖤
Have him do a reaction video to her opera? We’re already two levels of inception deep into this review (his video being reviewed by her being reviewed by him). Actually, yeah. I think we need to dive deeper into this labyrinth…but you’re going to have to pay for the therapy afterwards.
She's a hell of a singer Justin, I mean seriously, a really amazing singer; I'm a guitarist and I still watch her videos because she's so damn good at analysing vocals.
I love her channel. She reacts to alot of metal as well. I love that she's a vocal coach and professional opera singer and has come to love and appreciate metal vocalists.
For the most part, "metal" really isn't my scene - but the "metal" singers that are good are GOOD! I've been getting into the Japanese metal/hard rockgirl groups a lot more lately - BANDMAID are bliss, Nemophila most excellent, Lovebites is a little too "metal" for more than the oddtrack, Hanabie are fun, and there's so much more. Not sure where The Wagakki Band fit in, but Babtmetal are definitely "Kawaii metal" - Suzuka's voice in outstanding!
There are definitely some stuffy opera and classical musicians who only listen to classical and look down on other styles. But the cool ones just love MUSIC in all its forms. I remember being in college and studying Bach in piano lessons, rehearsing an opera in the evening, and then singing in a rock band on the weekends. And I loved it ALL. 😂
Was such fun watching her watch your video and react - amazing feedback and well deserved - we all know about your amazing voice and sense of humour ❤😂❤
We put the music video to this song on last night and my 16 year old daughter was like “Is he a space mermaid? He’s a space mermaid” because of your beautiful, long flowy hair. Lol.
If Queen ever decided to do another tour or even just a few shows you'd be the perfect singer for them. Who knows if they ever will but I can't think of any other singers who could do it justice and own it like you could.
Have you checked out Tom Chaplin from Keane singing It's A Hard Life with Queen? Although, not as visually entertaining as Justin Hawkins, he gives a flawless performance.
This is such a fantastic opportunity as a singer, because you know she's gonna analize it insanely well, but the idea of the person singing and explaining what is actually happening, be it in their mind or body/throat/etc... Gives so much clarity. There's so much intimacy, mentality, persona and many other aspects that make a singer, the notes they reach or sounds they generate. Ahhhh i love this! Thank you!
Outstanding. I'll have to watch the music video again. When The Darkness blew up in 2003 there were many comments about your voice, your range, your falsetto, comparisons to Freddie, the success of PtL. For the rock fans like me who grew up in the 70/80's, you were all a real breath of fresh air to listen to. Glad that The Charismatic Voice gave you a look-in, and now I'll check out her review too. Good to see that your band is still around 20yrs on. Nice one...
I bought Permission To Land shortly after it was released after reading a Rolling Stone review comparing the band to Queen and Led Zeppelin. After my first listen I was all "Wtf"? I thought the vocals were almost a parody, but after a couple more listens I realized the riffs and songs were really memorable and well-written, and the guitar soloing was great. And to me they sounded more like early Def Leppard (musically) meets The Bee Gees and The Cure (vocally), which is a pretty cool, interesting and unique amalgam. So yeah, it quickly became a current favorite album of mine and when my friend Dan and I would drive to Hollywood on the weekend to hang out and party at the Rainbow, we'd crank it in his car and I'd sing along and he'd crack up because I used to be able to hit pretty much all of Justin's high notes. Get Your Hands Of My Woman was my favorite one to sing, especially when he goes "You cu-hu-hunt!" in that crazy high falsetto 😎
@@dmitryowens yeah, it's a great album but there was a bit of an image problem because; people didn't know how to accept the band. I was living in the UK at the time and immediately there were comparisons to Freddie Mercury. JH did say that The Darkness were going for a sound sort of Queen/ACDC which I think they got, and still have. Love on the Rocks (with no ice) was my favourite. The very last two power chords are pure metal... \m/
@@paulelverstone8677 Yeah, great song - I also really dig Love Is Only A Feeling. And to me Justin's voice reminds me more of Robert Smith when he sings in his natural mid-range and Bee Gees and other 70's male disco artists when he sings the high stuff - Freddie sang more in full chest voice and didn't use as much falsetto as Justin does.
I've listened to quite a few The Charismatic Voice videos and this might be the most impressed I've heard her be about someone's vocal abilities. She never really disses anyone's singing but this really was an exceptional reaction from her. Well deserved Justin. Glad it made your day.

What an album!❤ And luckily those that came after...Long live The Darkness!!!🫶 Special mention to Dan's beauty. Those shots of him while he is playing the guitar solos 13:02 are simply... gorgeous!!!🔥🔥🔥 🥰

"Making sure you don't forfeit the gift that's been bestowed upon you!" Best quote to any singer ever!!! Thanks! JT
Justin is a national treasure. The end.
Correction: he's a treasure for the whole human race. 👍
And so is Elizabeth, obviously.
This is the first time I ever seen an artist react to someone reacting to their song. Brilliant! Love it.❤
I've seen a lot of her videos and recently discovered she's a professional opera singer with an insanely powerful voice. Suddenly all those reactions holds more weight.
Thanks Justin, you’re voice is always touching me!!!!
Thanks!
LMAO
@@JustinHawkinsRidesAgain She also does a Tea Time with various vocalists that she reacts to should contact her I think it would be fabulous to see you two interacting you singlehandedly got me back into singing again after seeing this video all those years ago thank you very much
I love that he is able to not take everything (especially himself) SO serious!!! Laughed a lot!!!
It is refreshing to see two people building each other up on these two channels. I know it's cliché, but there is way too much of the other thing these days, so this exchange is a bright spot. I have always loved this song; it was perfect for its time.
OMG this is so meta!!! A singer analyzing another singers analysis of their voice. LOL
This is great. Need more reaction too reactions lol
Ah the humour is alive and well here, that said Elizabeth is an awesome woman, insanely talented to boot. Her reaction videos are the stuff of legend as she really gets into it, you can see it in her body language and facial expressions, just a sweet human being she is.
She is so amazing. She is so fun to watch, incredible insight and her enthusiasm is massive.
We definitely need an interview between Justin and Elizabeth, that would be fun.
I love the dedication Justin put into making his singing LOOK realistic in the music videos. Not enough singers do that.
Critiquing someone who critiques. Bloody awesome. Put my critiquing on critique streams to a new level lol. The charismatic voice is a great channel for my vocal learning. It also led me to your channel. Great to see your still around and active. I loved the darkness. Cheers. ✌️
We all need the Tea Time interview with both of you happening! Go for it! Can't wait! Love from germany! ;)
Speaking of I'd love to hear Justin doing some Queen tunes.
She's an opera singer.
She has an infectious personality.
Well said. He is a gem. Perfect description!
Justin Hawkins reacting to Elizabeth was perfect, made my week! 🫡👏🏻
Please do a reaction of her operatic performances. She's amazing.
Have him do a reaction video to her opera? We’re already two levels of inception deep into this review (his video being reviewed by her being reviewed by him). Actually, yeah. I think we need to dive deeper into this labyrinth…but you’re going to have to pay for the therapy afterwards.
@@______IV Then have Leo react to him reacting to her singing opera ..
Awh brilliant Justin 👏 Your response didn't disappoint 😍 You had fun with it in amongst your awkwardness/flattery from all her compliments. 🦋
It is hard to be humble when you are as great as Justin is. But Justin did very well indeed.
She is a delight to watch and listen to and she obviously knows her shit ,but her giggles are just infectious.
Just watched that charismatic voice video yesterday, Then this video hapoens!!! So awesome. I feel like im part of something really cool lol.
Was such fun watching her watch your video and react - amazing feedback and well deserved - we all know about your amazing voice and sense of humour ❤😂❤
I was watching this before. Her reactions mirrored my first reaction to seeing this vid for the first time.
She is adorable
😁 you still have it!!!! Freaking AMAZING!!!! 0:39
We put the music video to this song on last night and my 16 year old daughter was like “Is he a space mermaid? He’s a space mermaid” because of your beautiful, long flowy hair. Lol.
And the enchanting voice that could make any human fall into the abyss (space instead of deep sea) just to keep hearing it.
I watched her yesterday and she is correct. You really do have a great voice. I honestly think you have to be in the top 10 of all time.
Yes - the triple threat of voice, guitar, and songwriting - the muses smiled on his birth
If Queen ever decided to do another tour or even just a few shows you'd be the perfect singer for them. Who knows if they ever will but I can't think of any other singers who could do it justice and own it like you could.
I'm not sure whether the entire catalogue works for him but the track Justin did with them at the Taylor Hawkins memorial was fantastic.
I agree Robyn…I’ve often thought his opening ‘jingle’ sounds Mercury like.
They haven't stopped touring, they have Adam Lambert as their vocalist for several years now
Have you checked out Tom Chaplin from Keane singing It's A Hard Life with Queen? Although, not as visually entertaining as Justin Hawkins, he gives a flawless performance.
Yeah no disrespect to Adam but Justin would nail it
Looking forward to the Charismatic voice's reaction to your reaction. I would genuinely not tire of that dynamic.
The thumbnail on her video...the look on her face...it's almost evil delight! She loves your vocal prowess! We all do eh?
This is such a fantastic opportunity as a singer, because you know she's gonna analize it insanely well, but the idea of the person singing and explaining what is actually happening, be it in their mind or body/throat/etc... Gives so much clarity. There's so much intimacy, mentality, persona and many other aspects that make a singer, the notes they reach or sounds they generate. Ahhhh i love this! Thank you!
Never, honestly never would have thought that the man... Justin Hawkins was such a wide-o, its perfect hahahaha

Yeah, great song - I also really dig Love Is Only A Feeling. And to me Justin's voice reminds me more of Robert Smith when he sings in his natural mid-range and Bee Gees and other 70's male disco artists when he sings the high stuff - Freddie sang more in full chest voice and didn't use as much falsetto as Justin does.
Like others have said already Justin, it would be fun to have you on one of her interviews.
You do have an unbelievable voice. I even remember playing "Love is Only a Feeling" for my parents so they could hear your talent.
I've listened to quite a few The Charismatic Voice videos and this might be the most impressed I've heard her be about someone's vocal abilities. She never really disses anyone's singing but this really was an exceptional reaction from her. Well deserved Justin. Glad it made your day.
This is GREAT!!! Two of my favorite people!!!!!
You're great, Justin. Just a great human being. This was a fun watch.
Mate you and Elizabeth having a crossover moment, like ever decreasing circles crossing over with Keeping up appearances.
Two of my favourites youtubers coming together
This was great. So nice to see a singer react to all the nice and genuine comments she makes when she watches something that impresses her. Brilliant stuff.
I've seen a few of your reaction videos just because of the algorithm. I had no idea you were the lead singer of The Darkness. My wife and I used this song for the Recessional at our wedding and there was never even a discussion about another. Thank you for your part in creating it :)
@thecharismaticvoice Has done so much for me in understanding what works vocally and what doesn’t as well as given me new things to practice and try out in an easy and digestible manner learned more watching their videos than I have anyone else
Elizabeth is great. and always so joyful about discovering new voices!
She loves it because you guys freaking rock. Hopefully more people see that. I love converting people to your music.
Justin, I am a big fan of Elizabeth, who is The Charismatic Voice, and she seemed to have fun time, and she loved the song, and your singing. She does Tea Time interviews with musicians, and we'd love to see you do one with Elizabeth.
Justin, brother i love you and the content you put out. I watch t.c.v. i love elizabeth. You're awesome and deserve everything. Much love from ohio
I have watched a lot of her reaction videos and have found her such a refreshing delight.
She is so exuberant and has such an expressive face.
Delightful! 💗
The first time I saw the "I believe in a thing called love" video, I got my eyes fixed to the screen and when it ended I needed more!🤩 So I bought the record as soon as I had the chance. What an album!❤ And luckily those that came after...Long live The Darkness!!!🫶
Special mention to Dan's beauty. Those shots of him while he is playing the guitar solos 13:02 are simply... gorgeous!!!🔥🔥🔥 🥰
🙌💗
Elizabeth is such a treasure! Long-time follower of hers and she does fabulous analysises over the years.
I messaged her about your channel after watching that video. Love that you did this !! \m/
oh. oh. How gorgeous. Thank you for doing this!
Get Elizabeth on your next album :-)
I was 20 when this song came out. It was such a breath of fresh air from all the other music of the time.
I really liked the videos she did with Will Ramos of Lorna Shore where they put a camera down his throat so they could watch his vocal chords while he did his screaming/growling. Awesome stuff! Glad she's reacting to you.
This is so glorious! Two of my favourite reactors in conversation about Justin awesomeness!
Sorry, you'd had a bad day, but I'm glad you watched this and it cheered you up. You do have an incredible gift and it's a joy to hear you use it. I also love what you're doing here. Thanks, man! Keep doing it! 💜
I'd take a Zharoff endorsement over a spangly plaque every time. Delighted it gave you such a buzz.
