Allison. To make your holes in your buttons consider using a corn cob holder. The 2. Pins are perfectly spaced for them!
great tip
OMG, Thanks for that great tip
Clever
The eyelets make so much difference. They take average to high end. All of these of amazing. Thanks for your time and knowledge.
Beautiful work and excellent tutorial, thanks so much from Carol in Melbourne, Australia

Very beautiful will try these
Beautiful technique! You are a fantastic teacher. Love all that you do. Thanks for sharing your skills.
Really enjoyed this! Beautiful work, and a technique that can be utilized again and again! Thank you!
Very pretty. So nice to have you back Alison.
Stephanie Hancock Thank you Stephanie 🤗💜
These are gorgeous! I love the colors, pattern, and textures. The eyelets are genius. I have slowly been amassing supplies but have no time to create. I dream of doing crafting full time, but afraid to let go of bread and butter job as I live in a high cost area and I am doing everything alone. For someone dreaming of starting this career full time in their 60's, what advice do you have? I am not sure I would like mass production or fulfilling orders, shipping, and running to the post office everyday. The creating is what I love. I was in a craft show once but no one came so it was 2 full days of sitting there in the wind and a day of prep before going. Zero income. Just wondering what to do to make enough for a mortgage and expenses? I am a big fan and hoping you could let me into your thoughts - good and bad. Thank you!!!
Love them.
2:45pm if you don't want to have to keep cleaning your pad of paint just shake them up and remove the top - stick your finger in the paint in the lid & proceed - then all you have to clean is your finger😊 tips tips
Beautiful as always Alison x

Gracias tus proyectos son expectaculares me encantan
Pretty. Thank you for sharing. 🌹
What a fun and relaxing technique! Oh, and not that it's any of my business, but the way you finished the tear drop pendant made my heart so happy! I agree, it didn't need distressing, and the copper eyelet was the perfect finishing touch! Also, I have been looking for a way to finish a small box for my son in law, and I think this is what I was waiting for! Thank you again!
Wendy Moyer Thank you Wendy 💜💜 I know your box will be perfect! 😊😊
@@ThinkingOutsideTheBox Well, it's got to be better than the last one...it has wound up being called "The Ugly Box", and is, from now on, to be the place where all the ugly thoughts get put. Lol
Hi Alison glad you are doing well during this pandemic. Thank you for the great tutorial.
jill lederer Thank you Jill 💜
WOW, absolutely gorgeous pieces! Thank you for a wonderful, detailed, fabulous tutorial. Being new to polymer clay this has inspired me to really get creative!
Allison. Hello. Do you bake the piece before coloring it?
You do a great job. You are my inspiration.
Oh Allison, they all turned out so beautiful!! I'm so happy to see you back again, I've really, really missed your videos. I hope RJ Crafts are doing better, I wasn't able to donate a lot but suppose every little bit helps. ♥️

lisa darrah Thank you Lisa 💜
I love that technique! The buttons are wonderful. I have grandchildren and would love to make buttons for some of their outfits. Can these be washed and dried or are they strictly decorative?
So excited to see you posted a video; missed your videos so much but this is so worth the wait. Gorgeous as ever!! What a stunning technique and such beautifully finished pieces. It's spooky that I have only recently been looking for eyelets or grommets to finish some polymer clay earring components 😀 wasn't quite sure how to do it, so this has given me inspiration. What size eyelets did you use here? Love the colours 👌 Thanks for such a great video and hopefully see you again soon. Stay safe and Stay sane!! 🤗😊
EMMA PARSONS Thank you so much Emma 💜💜 I love these little eyelets and you get a bunch in the pack. I think the size is 1/16. Here’s the link to where I purchased them 😊 www.hobbylobby.com/Scrapbook-Paper-Crafts/Embellishments/Eyelets/Neutral-&-Metallic-Eyelet-Embellishments/p/75238

Very gorgeous, Thank you!
Many thanks!
Allison I loved the idea of buttons. I can find all kinds of uses for them. Thx
These are stunning, thanks for sharing!
galena52761 Thank you 💜
I love the boho pendants and the colors are awesome. I liked the way you explained that we could use UV resin instead of what you have in that ball jar. I realize it's a problem I have is getting all the materials needed oh, and just when I think I have everything I could possibly need, up comes something else. I don't have the acrylic paints that you have that same to have a pearlessence to them. Can any type of acrylic paint work or is there anything else you could think of that would work in its place? The same goes for the patina paint. What is it exactly and is there anything that can be used in its place that we may have already from some of your other tutorials? Thank you. I enjoy your tutorials very much Alison.
Diana Barclay Thank you Diana. The Dylusions are acrylic paints and the Ranger Patinas are opaque inks. Any acrylic paints you have on hand will work just the same. 😊
@@ThinkingOutsideTheBox Thank you Alison. 😉
Great tutorial
Kimberly Leon Thank you Kimberly 💜💜
Beautiful as always!
Michelle Brookbank Thank you Michelle 💜
Very pretty, thank you
Leona Nelson Thank you Leona 💜
Molto bello 👏
Queste creazioni si asciugano all'aria?
Love love love love! Thank you 🥰👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Lesley Haynes-Howell Thank you Lesley 💜
Lovely pieces, thanks for the tutorial.
Nita Thank you Nita 💜
I REALLY love the buttons! :D 💜
CrixJoki Thanks! 😊
Really enjoyed this Alison! Wonderful and inspiring 🥰
A Grateful Studio Thank you Jen 💜💜💜
Wow, stunning! What is the difference between the Dylusions and the Patinas? Super duper color choices!
Squirrel Cottage Thank you!! 💜💜 The Dylusions are acrylic paints and the Ranger Patinas are opaque inks 😊
@@ThinkingOutsideTheBox Looks like the Patinas are for permanence on metals too. Thanks for another introduction to a new product line, I can't wait to try it! ^..^~~~
Fun technique!!
Conyers Bull 💜💜
So just a quick question...If you want the distressed look for these pieces...can't you just wipe away the paint when you put each color on like you do in other videos? Also...why use Vararathane instead of resin?
On these I was going for a patina look and these inks dry very quickly 😊 I chose the Varathane to keep the texture, the resin would have filled the recesses.
@@ThinkingOutsideTheBox Oh cool! Thanks!
I really enjoyed this I need to do some
Donna Mills Thank you Donna 💜
Those are nice. :D If you don't intend to distress the pieces, is there a reason to use black clay as a base rather than just use scrap mud clay?
Janet McBride You can use any color you like including scrap clay 😊
❤I wanted to know how are you and are you still creating clay items your tutorial is very well done thank you and I pray tAll is well with you ❤ God Bless You
Do you have any advice for someone starting out that can't afford some of these really cool tools you have right now? I love these; they are beautiful. My son and I are loving to create charms
Thank you for sharing!!
Amy Sanders Thank you Amy 💜 You can use any acrylic paints to achieve a similar effect. Walmart has them for a little over a dollar a bottle 😊
You can also free form cut your shapes and use any stamps you have in hand. 😁
@@ThinkingOutsideTheBox thank you!! You are so awesome!!
Inka Gold Copper Paste - Couldn't find this in JoAnn's. Before I do a search, do you know where everyone is ordering this now ?
Welcome back, beautiful! Great tutorial, thank you ❤️
Shannon Siefer Thank you Shannon 💜
Wow! Love it! I am so going to try this. Thank you 💕
Elina Kelloniemi Have fun and thank you! 💜
So pretty! What did you use those pretty buttons on, Alison?
EllenJB Thank you Ellen 💜 I haven’t used them yet but probably for a wrap bracelet closure 😊
@@ThinkingOutsideTheBox One of the few times I made a big button, I made one to match the colors in a crocheted bag that I made for my daughter. I should do them more often; they are quick, easy and add a lot of "pizz-azz!"
I can't wait to try this out!! Can gilders paste be used instead of inka gold? Also...where do you get the grommets? Thank you!!!
Nicole Naylor It sure can 😊
I got the eyelets from Hobby Lobby www.hobbylobby.com/Scrapbook-Paper-Crafts/Embellishments/Eyelets/Neutral-&-Metallic-Eyelet-Embellishments/p/75238
I’m new and you do very nice clean work! Could you consider getting better lighting? Thanks for sharing:)
Where can WE buy the inks gold colors?
Alison. I can not find the Vintaj Patina color amethyst in the 3 set pk (Victorian Gable) or as a single literally anywhere...can u help me...
Jim & Laurie Hoy Im sorry, I wish I could. I have checked everywhere and it looks as though every where is now sold out. Ranger is the direct dealer of these Patinas, the link I posted, so hopefully they will be back in stock again soon.
Jim & Laurie Hoy I found it 😊

@@ThinkingOutsideTheBox
Oh thats awesome...thank you so much for helping me ...i ordered it right away...i cant thank you enough...
Does the varathane come off when it gets wet
No, but you don’t want to leave it submerged in water. It’s water resistant. I suggest using several coats of Varathane, each coat adds more luster.
@@ThinkingOutsideTheBox I just wondered if it would be ok to wear it in the shower or while swimming
@@julialewis8794 I wouldn’t advise it.
Too gorgeous!! amazing!
Janine Meehan Thank you Janine 💜💜
These turned out good and I do have Vintag paints. :)
Deb Beechy Thanks Deb and thats awesome!! 💜😊
Oh!! Your work is wonderful. I'm a craftsman, too.
I subscribe to you.
Have a fun and happy time today as well.
욕망의전당포-jewelry art Thank you 💜
Love love love this ❤
She's So Random Thank you 💜💜
Where did you find glue-on bails??
I think you should of used Resin, instead of the Verathane. Resin makes the Colors stand out more.
❤❤❤
😍😘😍😘😍
Allison your pendants are very beautiful but I think that the resin would bring up more your beautiful colours because this one does not have any sheen on the screen
Lilette Autrey Thank you Lilette 💜 I chose not to use the resin on these so I could keep the texture. 2-3 coats of glossy Varathane has a really good shine to it. Camera must not have picked it up :/
