This Secret Can Get James Harden BANNED From The NBA...

  • James Harden is REFUSING to play for the Philadelphia 76ers - and has demanded a trade from the team which was a VERY WEIRD offseason decision… and if he continues down this path he could actually be BANNED from the NBA
    Now have been banned from the NBA in the past for a variety of different reasons… but this is totally different… because of an obscure clause in the CBA and an UNPRECEDENTED situation in Philadelphia, James Harden could have already played his last game in his NBA career.

      Look at the situations he was in. Houston traded russ and was clearly not trying to contend. same thing in Brooklyn, Kyrie was not serious and kd kept getting hurt. look at what happened to the teams he's left, Houston are still rebuilding after 3 top 4 picks and have been publicly criticised to be one of the worst run teams in the league. just 6 months after harden left the nets, both Kyrie and kd requested to be traded and they did get traded at the trade deadline, both players complaining about the front office in Brooklyn. now Philly has made tons of bad decisions in the past few years including the draft and the decision they made to let butler go. we are slowly realising how Joel Embiid is a regular season player, the guy never even reached the conference finals while having competitive teams. Remember, jokic is still to play with an all star.

    Honestly based on James Harden's history and track record, what teams in their right minds would want to offer Harden a long term contract? Does he think forcing his way out of Philly would still offer him new long term contract opportunity by other teams? What's the chances of Harden pulling this stunt again with his new team? Harden choking in playoffs is guaranteed at this point. He forces his way out of his last 3 teams. When dissatisfied with his situation, he will show up out of shape.

      Harden was confident Houston wanted him back and would offer him a long term max deal. As a young, struggling team, Harden thought Houston wanted him to come back and be a savior. But when Houston showed they were after Fred, drafted Amen and wanted to build a new culture around their young talent, Harden was caught off guard by his dried up market. After his unsurprising choke in the playoffs again, no teams had interests in his services for a long term maxed deal. Rather than take accountability and accept the reality, Harden needed to shift his blame so Philly was the only thing he could shift his blame to

    I like this clause personally, and didn't even know it was a thing. I gotta say, I'd want it to be expanded for sure, and be harsher towards the players who signed contract extensions, especially those who signed max extensions, and then demand a trade within a couple-three years after doing so. Make the clause and its rules clear. The player must participate in all team practices from start to finish, must participate in team scrimmages from start to finish, must show up to all games, must participate in team shoot-around before games, and must play in games for more than 20 minutes a game (this is because it targets star players specifically). That makes perfect sense to me. Now, making it a team's choice to ban them is bizarre. It should be the NBA themselves doing that.

  • @ajsabat
    @ajsabat 11 месяцев назад +2

    I don’t think you understand the clause. I think it holds players liable to the team they sign with. It may mean that if their contact is voided the player might have to negotiate his way back into the league again with that team. But it would have to go all the way to see how it would actually be arbitrated by the league. It does seem to give teams some legal chops though. Players should play, even if their not in their ideal situation or “feel disrespected”, this has reached bullshit level.

  • @luciandeloware
    @luciandeloware 11 месяцев назад

    this changes everything, this means that players should ask out before the last year of their contract going forward...players like Donovan Mitchell who may want to leave are best served asking for a trade with 2 years left on their deal and holding out before that clause can punish them, in the event holding out doesn't work you'd play the last year to avoid the ban and then leave so the leverage lies in the second to last year going forward.

  • @felixchavarria8824
    @felixchavarria8824 11 месяцев назад

    Personally Sixers should use the clause however Adam Silver will probably step in F it up somehow. The problem currently is that the owners aren't united like the NFL.

  • @ivaneurope
    @ivaneurope 11 месяцев назад +1

    This should apply for every situation regardless of the contract length. Dame should be punished if he chooses to stomp his feet if he doesn't het to Miami or gets traded elsewhere. Ben Simmons should've been punished for refusing to report to training camp and holding out until he got traded. But the thing is players would use the "nursing an injury" excuse more often than not, because you can't really punish an injured player - unless, a medical crew appointed by the league checks the player and it turns out the injury is fake. The player empowerment era has taken things TOO FAR and Adam Silver should be blamed for allowing it to happen. No wonder why European players are THE norm right now, because their mindset and work eithic is way different than that of an American player and quite frankly I respect more a player like Jusuf Nurkic, who had to endure a war during his childhood as well as other obstacles to get to the NBA, than a James Harden or Ben Simmons who had opportunity after opportunity handed to them and they've squandered them all.

  • @Sai4651
    @Sai4651 11 месяцев назад

    There are a lot of practical issues with this clause
    For one, it doesn't help the Sixers, they don't want Harden off the team, they want him to play or to trade him and get value out of him. And, "withholds playing services" can have multiple meanings, does it mean if he doesn't play? Because Harden will show up and play games, he's just not going to give it 100%.
    And, from a reputation standpoint, if the Sixers did it, they are only doing it to spite Harden and free agents and other star players will be very weary of the Sixers. Even though the Sixers have a right to be upset with Harden, free agents and players will take note of this and may be scared to go to the Sixers.

    james harden could pull a kaepernick and sue the nba if he produces another 20/11/6 on over 60% true shooting, those are mvp numbers( literally only oscar and magic have had those numbers with over 60% true shooting). And if harden has a repeat of last seasons stats and doesnt recieve a huge contract from any team he could easily prove that the nba is colluding againist him. Harden is not like russ, harden statiscially is still a top 15 nba player according to the advanced metrics. The nba playoffs are defined in the CBA as a "bonus tournament" and has no bearing on what players make a season. The maker of this video clamining that harden can be banned doesnt know what he is talking about, harden has a very smart team around and is probably the richest nba player on the planet behind mj, lebron, and shaq. Harden will probably make more through a billion dollar lawsuit againist the league then he would ever make on a max contract, the nba is playing with fire and harden knows this

  • @Void7.4.14
    @Void7.4.14 11 месяцев назад

    Nah I don't wanna see this expanded on. I get that some abuse it but I think it's perfectly valid for players to wanna trade, especially if they feel the franchise lied to em and haven't built anything around em. NBA is amazing.Bunch of one dimensional money grubbing snowflakes without motivation or complete set of skills supported by fans who want to watch shooting practice.Go pay season tickets to watch star of your team play 50 games in regular season, then request trade in middle of his contract.And then blame league leaders and not yourself.

    I see a labor problem. You cannot ban someone to be a professional in their own country.
    A player can sign a contract and if he is not confortable he can have the freedom to end that contract anyway

      If you were paying attention, he said that you have to miss 30 games. That's why the players and owner made and agreed to this at the past cba.

      It would be ridiculous if they could void a contract and then not let them play abroad. That wouldn't hold any water in european civil law jurisidictions.

    If Philly wanted the man, they wouldn’t have scammed him out of 10s of millions. James Harden is going to be fine.

    How did James Harden sabotage Brooklyn's season? I feel like I'm missing something other than the fact that he requested a trade and told the FO that he wasn't going to resign with them.
