    Speaking for myself, at the time of writing this, I am 42 years old. If I think about how many times I have sinned, and the fact that I am even alive and writing this comment, I have absolutely no reason to call God severe. One prayer that I have learned not to pray is “God, give me justice”, because if God were to give me what I deserve, I would be in the lake of fire, and He would be 100% righteous and just in sending me there. I know that, but in my limited understanding, and I mean my VERY limited understanding, of the holiness and the justice of God, I haven’t even got a clue of how gracious and merciful God has been toward me, and when I think about the fact that He saved even me, I can’t call Him severe. I can only call Him merciful and patient. In society, we talk about “tolerance”, and we have the gall to say that He needs to be more tolerant? How long have they lived? How many times have they drawn breath since they committed their first sin? How many times have I drawn breath since my first sin? Is God “intolerant”? NO!!! He punishes sin, and final judgment is looming, but He hasn’t been anything but patient with me, and with the whole world.

      @monadavis1746 so what if you're called for destruction then? In your theory you have no assurance that you're actually called for heaven if you believe that God purposely makes for hell out His perfect will. For it's the Father's will that All would come to knowledge of forgiveness and not willing that any should perish 2 peter 3:9, 1 timothy 2:4. You have no assurance of your own salvation because of potential that you could be called to burn so as a result you say look at what I'm doing I must be saved while the Bible teaches that it's a gift lest any man should boast ephesians 2:8-9. You condemn yourself with your own words. What makes you special that Christ only died for you and a few elect? How are you better than your neighbors? Isn't that pride? God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble. Think about it. Your choice determines if you get saved just like everyone else. How can man be held accountable for not accepting Christ when it's only up to the Father and personis forced to believe, if it was the case everyone would be saved because it's His will that all would come to knowledge of forgiveness.

    While Sproul might think we don't know God, I wonder why he thinks he has anything more? His take on Christendom is simply just another guy giving his opinion. Sproul is just another preacher. Wherever he is preaching you can be very certain that there are preachers in the pulpits in his own town would have a whole different spin on the story. We all have to always remember that Protestant Christianity is just another split in a religious group. We split from Catholics 500 years ago. They split from Judaism 2000 years ago. That's not mentioning every single denomination type. There are thousands of splits (denominations) in Christianity. We just don't want to call all the splits "splinter" religions, but it's exactly what they are. Christianity is fast approaching a cliff that drops very far once you jump. You land in the fun place of cults. Numbers are the only thing that separated Christianity from cults and that divide narrows every year. In summary, preachers like Sproul are dangerous. He knows tons of stuff that he absolutely knows most of the people he preaches to are never going to read for themselves. It gives him a "credibility" advantage to preach in authority about subjects people just won't go home and study very much on their own. It's like being in elementary school and reading a book report to the class. At that age they will believe anything and see no need to do any of their own reading/ study. The kids generally just believe whoever is talking without much question.

    1:15 Sorry, the late Dr. Sproul is being inconsistent with his own "meticulous, exhaustive divine determinism...I.e., "his famous, no rogue molecules" theory.... If he is right about that, there is only one reason Adam sinned...it was God's decree and his own 'choice' had nothing to do with it at all. Adam did not actually "rebel" against God, he simply performed according to God's decree. To say otherwise would suggest he had free will, and if man's free will would be a threat to God's "sovereignty" today, after the fall... it would have been no less threat to it in the Garden. And, before he passed away, Dr. Sproul eventually came to this same conclusion. Previously, he had maintained we did not know why Adam, made 'perfect' living in a "perfect" world sinned... However, he eventually realized that is a dog which will not hunt. And Calvinist consistency requires God ordained Adam's sin before he was created.
    In this video, it's laughable that he would declare "What's wrong with you people?" with such 'indignation'.... 🤣🤣 Seriously, NOTHING is WRONG with anybody if there are no "rogue molecules" and God is in absolute control having unchangeably ordained from eternity past ... "whatsoever comes to pass".🤦🏻‍♂️ It's nonsense. Either he's hoping the audience isn't thinking... or Dr. Sproul isn't.

      God did not decree for Adam to sin but God already knew since time immemorial that Adam would fall in sin and has already planned out Jesus to die for everyone thousands of years later.

    • @R.L.KRANESCHRADTT
      @R.L.KRANESCHRADTT 7 месяцев назад

      @@Rexjamir6431 Foreknowledge is moot in Calvinism. If God truly has unchangeably ordained 'whatsoever' comes to pass, and as the WCF maintains, this is never regarding his 'foresight', it is not possible that what God 'knew' has any bearing. John Piper maintains that God 'knows' the future because he 'performs' the future. THIS is consistent Calvinism.
      "II. Although God knows whatsoever may or can come to pass upon all supposed conditions; yet hath he NOT decreed any thing BECAUSE he forsaw it as future, or as that which would come to pass upon such conditions. " WCF CHAP.3
      IF it is suggested that Adam had a free will to choose not to sin, it is obvious his free will was no more or less a threat to Gods "Sovereignty" in the Garden than Calvinism maintains it would be after the fall! But, Calvinist's deny man's ability to choose to do well in spite of God's conversation to the contrary with Adam's first born, Cain, in Gen.4.
      In his later years Sproul came to accept that God did in ordain Adam's sin. It's the only logical position and, if God ordained Adam's sin, it was God's perfect will and Adam could not do otherwise.
      His son also writes; “God desired for man to fall into sin. I am not accusing God of sinning; I am suggesting that God created sin.” - RC Sproul Jr., Almighty Over All,, page 58
      In his book, Almighty Over All, R.C. Sproul Jr. writes this statement: “We cannot imagine God looking at His wrath like unwanted pounds He wants to lose, if only He had the power. No, God is as delighted with His wrath as He is with all of His attributes. Suppose He says, ‘What I’ll do is create something worthy of my wrath, something on which I can exhibit the glory of my wrath. And on top of that I’ll manifest my mercy by showering grace on some of these creatures deserving my wrath.'”
      Consequently, we have God ordaining every abortion, as well as every pro-life demonstration against abortion.
      As Calvinism defines God , He's both the Arsonist and the Fireman. And their only response is "it's a mystery" "don't' think about it."
      It's not complicated. If Calvinism is true, God is simply playing Checkers with himself using men as pieces on the board.

      @R.L.KRANESCHRADTT 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@Rexjamir6431 Try reading the book of Romans as written, and without presuppositions imposed by Reformed/Calvinistic theology. Read it as a narrative letter without regard for chapter and verse markings. Consider to whom it was written and why. Do not be 'triggered' to impose meanings out of context because of assumptions which are not in the text. Resist focusing on a particular verse to the exclusion of the overall context.
      Romans is primarily the message from Paul to the Jews,, (but not only the Jews), that salvation is now available to both the Gentiles AND the Jews through Faith in Jesus Christ and not the works "of the law". It is not about God choosing the salvation of one individual over another, but God's plan to bring salvation to the world as he promised to Abraham that all people would be blessed thorough his seed. It is about bringing Jesus to the world, and redemption to whosoever will believe through faith in him.
      Reading Rom. 9 without proper context and consideration of the rest of the book, especially chap. 11, and even other passages throughout the Bible which make clear the true nature of God makes it possible to miss the true meaning of Paul's message.

      @bud7878 Месяц назад

      The Westminister Confession of Faith says God ordains whatsoever comes to pass. The concept of "no rogue molecules" is that nothing occurs without God's permission. So if God is not in control and not soverign, then he is not God. God gave mankind free will. God doesn't change man's free will nor does man change God's will. History recalls the destruction of millions of people by the likes of Hitler, Mussolini and Stalin whereby God didn't interfere with their will.
      The doctrine of Devine Concurance is whereby God works to a given outcome different then mankind's intentions. God is always in control and working to effect his plan. We can take the example of Jacob's son Joseph. Jacob had 12 sons but showed his love for Joseph by giving him a beautiful multi colored coat. His brothers were jeleous. They ment great harm to Joseph and sold him to a passing caravan. However God had a different plan for Joseph which placed Joseph 2nd in power in Egypt, utimately setting the future foundation of the nation of Israel. God's plan and mankind's plan are often completely different

      Didn’t God command Adam not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil? He certainly did. (Genesis 2:17). So by Adam disobeying Gods command , is that not defying??

      Did the serpent deceive Adam also? Did the woman talk Adam into eating? Did the woman after her eyes were opened deceive Adam into eating? We don't know, but to say Adam defied God by eating is biblically incorrect. There is no scripture that clearly and plainly says Adam defied God. To say there is to read into scripture something that is not there. It becomes opinion. @@ncrogers10

      RC Sproul was correct using other scripture to inform what happened in the garden.
      The scripture is clear that the basis of sin is the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life attributed to the fall in the garden.
      The scripture also says, “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.”
      It also says, “In Adam we all die.” The psalmist writes “I was born in sin and in sin my mother conceived me.”
      We obtained our sin nature through Adam and this affects ALL people.
      There was only one rule and they knowingly broke that rule. Not only were they sinners they obtained a sin twisted nature propelled to sin that passed on to everyone born of Adam.
      Romans 5:14 (KJV)
      [14] Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
      FERGUSON: Sin, transgression, and iniquity are different words in the Old Testament. Most of us are familiar with the Greek term hamartia, meaning “sin,” which conveys the idea of falling short of the mark. We are made for the glory of God, but sin causes us to fall short of the mark. Transgression has the very basic idea of crossing the line. God has given us His law, and we cross the line. Iniquity has the sense in Psalm 51, for example, of “twistedness.” There is a twistedness in us as a consequence of this. All of these words are different angles of one and the same reality: our disobedience to God, our againstness, our hatred, our diversion from Him.

    what’s wrong with these calvinists? They don’t read or believe the bible. They listen to their calvinist masters instead.
