Alistair Begg imagined the man on the cross arriving in heaven and being questioned by angels "why are you here?" And the angels star asking theological questions he can not answer and he finally responds with "the man on the middle cross said I could come". And that is the only answer we have.
All will be judged. He didn't say you could stay in paradise, only he would be in paradise on that day. Again, there is a great white throne judgment. Some will stand some will kneel. Even the angels are judged.
@@Nemes1sEn4cer I was judged on the cross. The Messiah paid my debt and stands in my defense. That's the story for all who live by faith in Christ. Same with the man on the cross. He lived by faith. Christ wouldn't pay your ransom and make atonement for your sins, then judge you for the very sins He atoned for. You need to repent of your lack of knowledge and mishandling the Word of God and search the Scriptures.
@@joshhigdon4951 on the cross he/Jesus said Father forgive them. Jesus does not command the father to do anything. If what you said were true. We would already be raised incorruptible. @@Nemes1sEn4cer you apparently are non-trinitarian. There is no prosecutor for those who's sins have been paid for in full. That would not be justice. Listen to what you are saying. You really need to take care of how you handle the Scriptures, lest you lead someone into dangerous error.
@@joshhigdon4951 then what is the great white throne judgement for? Sins were never paid for they were atoned for. Jesus was atonement. Rev 21. Also, Jesus never said or wrote one word. He is quoted as saying. 30 to 60 years later. Quoted by men, fallible men.
That's right. He saved you 2000 years ago whether you believe it or not. Faith can only come from God. If you don't have it, then he didn't give it to you. If you have it, then thank God for it.

Faith in a Church. That's what it looks like when a person does not read their Bible. They're on their knees praying with faith to a candle. Or having faith Mary will talk to Jesus for them. Or having faith they've been good enough to enter the kingdom. My faith is only in Jesus.

RC Sprouls is a Calvinist and I wouldn't listen to him at all. His theology is really messed up. If you are truly born again, you belong to God and are NOT in His eyes a failure. That is your flesh talking and thinking like that. Submit to God,resist the devil he will flee from you. Remember to use the authority Jesus has given us over all the power of the enemy. Out of love and charity for your soul I must tell you that you’re 100% wrong. Only the mercy of Jesus and yes it is true that the passion of Christ allowed us to enter into the kingdom of heaven but we must be sanctified, glorified and justified. If we do not complete , obey, profess, believe and do the will of God daily one will not enter into the kingdom of heaven. If one continues to sin when Christ says many many times in the New Testament that if you love me and you will obey me one will complete the Three Pillars of my Church which is prayer, penance and know one’s faith. Also Jesus says in the New Testament several times “I forgive you and go and sin no more.” So how can we go to heaven if we continue to sin? When Jesus tells us, I forgive your sins because you’re asking me to forgive them in your heart wants to be forgiven but what does he include “go sin no more.”

You may find Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones helpful or S Lewis Johnson. Also, the Puritans. Heard of John Bunyan? Many true believers struggle like us! In every generation the Lord has servants everywhere ,they all are cut from a different mould, encouraging and warning people to come to Jesus to b saved from their sins, only the power of Jesus matchless love can make this possible, amen and amen!!
FYI - Satan also has servants everywhere - Matthew 24:4 & 5 Mark 13:22 & Matthew 24:24 So you have the ability to know the difference? You obviously are not reading from source - try opening a bible and check for yourself.
@Jeff Blanton FYI - Christians are diverse worldwide; they are found in every land and culture, however, they are NOT 'cut from a different mould' - they are united in ONE faith and have unity and purpose in Christ's teaching. Genuine Christians are defined by their compliance with scripture > 'Now I urge you, brothers, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you should all speak in agreement and that there should be no divisions among you, but that you may be completely united in the same mind and in the same line of thought.' - 1 Corinthians 1:10 '.. not forsaking our meeting together, as some have the custom, but encouraging one another, and all the more so as you see the day drawing near.' - Hebrews 10:25 There is only one global organization that is fully showing obedience to Jesus' command to preach and make disciples - Matthew 28:19 & 20 The vast majority of churches do not follow the example set by the early Christian congregations, namely preaching from house to house - Acts 20:20 The millions who claim to be Christian do not preach nor teach - they claim to have faith, yet they do not have Christian works to demonstrate that faith - 'faith without works is useless' - James 2:20 'But do you care to know, O empty man, that faith without works is useless?' Note what Jesus said: "Most truly I say to you, whoever exercises faith in me will also do the works that I do; and he will do works greater than these, because I am going my way to the Father." This refers to the preaching work during the 'last days' (time of the end) - Matthew 24:14 "And this good news of the Kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come." No-one is 'saved' unless they remain active and demonstrate their faith right up to the end. _-Matthew 24:13 "But the one who has endured to the end will be saved." Christians do not sit around at home waiting for things to happen imagining that God is going to pluck them out of the air and rescue them for doing nothing. The examples are clear - Noah preached to his generation for some 40~50 years while he was constructing the ark - he was continuously active in fine works, showing his obedience and submission to God's direction. - Genesis 6:22 'And Noah did according to all that God had commanded him. He did just so.' Noah was not saved until he complied with God's command to enter into the ark. After that God sealed the door and only at that point was salvation guaranteed for Noah and his family. 'So they went in, male and female of every sort of flesh, just as God had commanded him. After that Jehovah shut the door behind him.' - Genesis 7:16
Luke 13: 23 And someone said to Him, “Lord, are there just a few who are being saved?” And He said to them, 24 “Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. 25 Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock on the door, saying, ‘Lord, open up to us!’ then He will answer and say to you, ‘I do not know where you are from.’ 26 Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets’; 27 and He will say, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you are from; depart from Me, all you evildoers.’ Philippians 2: 12 So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. 1 John 2: 3 By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; 5 but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. So, you never wondered why there will be a Last Judgement, if you were all saved already? Why will you be asked about feeding the hungry, giving water to the poor, consoling the sick, visiting the lonely people in prison? Aren't these all superfluous since you were saved already why you proclaimed it?
@@jerrytang3146 I don’t think all will be saved, only those who place there trust in Christ alone. But the gospel is for all, and all have the ability to respond or reject Christ. Those in the judgment you are referring to, had believed in the Christ and the evidence was they helped Jesus by helping his people. I believe in the elect, but these teachings take the simplicity of scripture and distort it. We are saved by grace through faith. Gods mercy! And believing his word. What most do not understand is what truly believing his word is. It is doing what you confess you believe! Simple as that!
Correct! It’s not enough to just believe, because “even the demons believed”. When we believe something it impacts our thoughts and actions. Salvation should always lead to a desire of obedience.
Yes! A word study on faith or Greek study on faith, interestingly the semantic range for both words are similar Faith has the idea of continuing to believe. The idea of faithfulness is inside faith. Ie. we obey or do what Jesus say. How could we say we believe if we don’t do what he says. Mouthing words .ie the sinners prayer is not faith.

This is a very good message! I’m glad someone is addressing the issue of “false assurance” because it seems very common. True repentance is needed (ie, turning TO God) and is not a “once and done,” but a daily turning to the Redeemer and walking with Him. As we walk with Him, He transforms us from the heart outward, and eventually good deeds will flow from that, not to “be saved” but because we ARE saved and His life is flowing through us. He is the vine and we are the branches. Those who REMAIN in Him will bear good fruit.

I listened to this and other pastors who all seemed to leave me uneasy. When Dr. Sproul said he caught himself in a mirror and questioned his own salvation...I felt like "If he is not quite sure - he's no better off than me" - Then I began to re-discover the first and second commandments and learned that to love Jesus involves loving Him by keeping his comandments . Today I have a full assurance of salvation and an understanding of what it means to enter at the narrow gate. To walk with Jesus is to take up the cross daily and followi Him. By drawing closer to Him,. He draws closer to me. Today could be the day of the Rapture.
I was listening to a native preacher earlier today [Ethiopian Orthodox Christian Church] speaking of the same topic. He equated a good deed that’s not rooted in God’s love as follows: our world renowned long distance runners whose efforts are rewarded & recognized vs an unknown goat bearded who could be a faster runner but isn’t known or registered by the Athletics Federation.
God hears my prayers. I don’t know why. But I met Jesus after God gave me a new heart and I am still repentant to this day from all my “new” memories. I go to church where I have rarely been and know nothing about it = it’s heirarchy, what it’s like to be new to Christ, etc. The behaviors floored me, the attitudes stunk and the hate was as thick as fog. I persisted because I just didn’t know. I still didn’t know if I was totally saved, either. So i persisted and when I spoke of Jesus, people ran away. IT’s as if only the pastor could speak of him (know him) and everyone else is just NPC or something. Today? I go in and when I see someone I ask, “Do you love him?” Their answer is a giveaway.
I was born in a traditional catholic country but once i read the new testament as an adult, i got re-baptized (submerged) at my own request and never looked back. Salvation had entered my heart after many years of superficial religion. catholic = universal. That's why my friends/family won't budge from their traditions. I'm a lost sheep according to them. The vatican is the biggest stumbling block to people who are wholeheartedly seeking Christ...I'm not saying everyone in evangelical churches are saved. so I just pray.
And Eternal Conscious Torment is what Evangelicals have in common with Roman Catholicism. Fear of Hell to keep them in fear and clutching the church leaders and their books for some assurance.

We are not saved by the works of the Law but through faith. And then we are to follow the new commandment Jesus gave us to love one another and the acts that show that love. James tells us that faith without works is dead. If we have faith without works, we will be judged.
The *NEED* for salvation isn't talked about enough today. Salvation is not simply a pamphlet that you take and put in your back pocket because someone from a church offered it to you, salvation is not a checklist of pretty works that you must do in order to be considered "saved". Salvation begins as an urgent need for Christ that is placed into your heart by the convicting power of the Holy Spirit, once you know that you need Jesus then the work of salvation happens in your heart when you finally cry out to Jesus Christ the Lord and ask him earnestly for salvation, that is true salvation.
We all must die unless we are here when the lord comes back first!!! Then I know that it's nothing I've ever done that would get me in! Only by the shed blood of Jesus on the cross!!! I don't do good works! I know I don't deserve anything!!
“ and they all condemned Him to be deserving of death. Surely indeed! " He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them". Whoever calls upon the Name of the LORD Shall be saved.
Whatever you're tackling whatever you're going through rest assured I have prayed for you. I pray that the holy spirit continues to woo you and bring you close to Jesus love and salvation.
Ask yourself 2 questions. 1. Is Christ faithful and trustworty? If your answer is "yes", then 2. Have I trusted in Him and not in anything I did or could do? If yes, you are saved, and your confidence is based only on the faithfulness of Christ 😇
I don’t know what I would say to Jesus, I only know I was born into sin, and will think one thought, not right and be a sinner until I reach the Pearly Gates/ only Jesus is without sin. “It is I the Lord that tries the reigns, it is I the Lord, that sees the heart”. I am sure of one thing, the Lord sees everything I do, knows my every thought and everything I say and only the Lord knows my heart. I have Faith to see what I have not seen yet here but I see through my heart, my heart that only Jesus knows. I can’t live here without Jesus with me, I know this. I know He never leaves me. This is my only hope for no hope is here, only when Jesus makes His presence known to me in my heart. I am able then to keep going forward. Truly, thereby the Grace of God I go. Nothing Truly is what I come up with, it is Truly the Good thoughts He has for me. Amen
Jesus kept asking Simon Peter: “Do you love me, do you love me, do you love me?” I know my works are trash, I’m still being saved, because I’m still cleansing myself of unrighteousness, because God says “cleanse yourselves” of course he forgives and cleanses us and he’s the main cleanser but repentance is our willingness to give our free will in trade of loving God. When I die, I hope my soul truthfully says: “because God, I love you”. Still under construction tho, my entire being IS STILL drenched in rebellion, I even have a snake tattoo on my wrist that I can barely stand to look at, I hate my own skin. Lord have mercy on those who love you, or who are learning to love you, like I am learning. Just as Paul said, “I do what I do not want to do, yet I still do it” Lord please help those struggling in sin and rebellion. Please forgive those who do not understand the order of Family and Marriage and children the way you intended. Lord forgive the wives who are willing to change and let their husbands take the proper place in leadership, Lord forgive the husbands who are willing to change from being harsh to their wives, Lord forgive the children who have rebelled against their own families and parents. Lord forgive us of every other detestable thing that you’ve brought awareness of, please command us to change, please in your mercy and kindness show us what we are in error of so that we can change and run the race and follow the rules! Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth in your name I pray amen!
that's right - it is an assumption that people will rely on their sinners prayer for salvation and continue to live life without repentance. this is not always the case. i prayed the sinners prayer as a teenager at an easter camp and many decades down the track i am still walking by faith and trusting in Jesus. there are good preachers out there saying the sinners prayer is wrong - yet when they give the gospel to people, they offer them the prayer of repentance/sinners prayer. there has to be the acknowledgement that we are sinners, rebelling against a holy God. Paul tells us in Romans 10:9 whoever believes on the Lord Jesus Christ abd confessing that Jesus raised him from the dead will be saved. and it goes from there. only time and God tells whether a person really meant their life of surrender to Jesus. The sinners prayer has been so demonised - it should be explained in its fullness. when i hear these preachers discount the prayer - i just hear anger and judgementalism - i say instead of focussing on that explain it in the way it was mean from the bible.

Romans 6: 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8: 14 For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Romans 3:28-30 (KJV) Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. John 6:28-29 (KJV) Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
Titus 3:5-7 (KJV) Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Galatians 2:16 (KJV) Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
2 Timothy 1:9 (KJV) Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
Romans 4:4-6, 8 (KJV) Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
God does the choosing. Man's freewill can choose anything on earth but NOTHING from above. You must be born from above. And God is the One that bestows this gift. 🙏♥️🙏 John 3:5-8 English Standard Version 5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.[a] 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You[b] must be born again.’ 8 The wind[c] blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” John 6:44 English Standard Version 44 No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day. Romans 9:10-25 English Standard Version 10 And not only so, but also when Rebekah had conceived children by one man, our forefather Isaac, 11 though they were not yet born and had done nothing either good or bad-in order that God's purpose of election might continue, not because of works but because of him who calls- 12 she was told, “The older will serve the younger.” 13 As it is written, “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.” 14 What shall we say then? Is there injustice on God's part? By no means! 15 For he says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” 16 So then it depends not on human will or exertion,[a] but on God, who has mercy. 17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I might show my power in you, and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.” 18 So then he has mercy on whomever he wills, and he hardens whomever he wills. 19 You will say to me then, “Why does he still find fault? For who can resist his will?” 20 But who are you, O man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, “Why have you made me like this?” 21 Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for dishonorable use? 22 What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, 23 in order to make known the riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory- 24 even us whom he has called, not from the Jews only but also from the Gentiles? 25 As indeed he says in Hosea, “Those who were not my people I will call ‘my people,’ and her who was not beloved I will call ‘beloved.’ Daniel 4:34-35 English Standard Version Nebuchadnezzar Restored 34 At the end of the days I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my reason returned to me, and I blessed the Most High, and praised and honored him who lives forever, for his dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom endures from generation to generation; 35 all the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, and he does according to his will among the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay his hand or say to him, “What have you done?”
"The three tenses of salvation: I have been saved from sin's penalty. That is Justification. I am being saved from sin's power. That is Sanctification. I will be saved from sin's presence. That is Glorification" -- Alistair Begg First happens once for each Christian in this life Second is life long Third will happen to all Christians at the resurrection
A person is saved in eternity past. All who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been slain. (Revelation 13:8, NASB) So then it begins and ends in God's merciful election. When faith is activated away from sin and rests on Christ, a person is saved. Abraham was saved by faith, even when he was uncircumcised. When a person believes the gospel the Holy Spirit convicts them of sin, and they hunger for Christ and His righteousness. A believer will fall into sin but he will desire to obey Christ his savior above all. A believer will carry out the works which God prepared before hand. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10, NASB) A believer is not saved by his works. A believer is saved by God's grace thru his faith. A believer does good works and turns from evil BECAUSE HE IS ALREADY SAVED out of gratitude and love, not because he tries to earn it. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. (1 John 5:13, NASB) So then a man can know he is saved. If a man believes on Christ alone to pay his sin debt to God and his faith causes him to obey Christ he is saved. What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him? (James 2:14, NASB) A man is saved by the Holy Spirit at the moment of his belief in God's Son and gospel.
Salvation occurs when the Holy Spirit regenerates a dead sinner's s heart. Because of regeneration; repentance from sin and unbelief, faith in the Triune God, Confession of Christ Baptism into the Church And victory over death and the grave necessarily follow.
For over two thousand years the precise intent of biblical passages have been debated. Blessed be this man and the lucky few to hear him for they know what the bible says.
The key to this vs. is Whoever does the will of the Father, What is the will of the father? Those that have done great works in his name, or call him Lord ,Lord. Those that have cast out demons in his name..absolutley NOT. These are people who are trying to please God by their works...works Gosple. The will of the father is that you believe in his son Jesus Christ as savior. Acts:16:31. Dr Sprol never talks about the exact time a person is saved completely.
@@graftme3168 What's the true gospel? I've noticed a lot of anti-Calvinists don't have a gospel at all, they just want to divide Christ like the false teacher the Bible warns about. If you won't lead people to Christ, you might as well not have commented.
@@oracleoftroy Wow! I won't even respond to that. When people start making assumptions about things they couldn't even possibly know about me, I know the conversation ended before it began. Anti-calvinists never write anything that explains the gospel or build up the Church, they only tear down Calvinists and create disunity in the body of Christ. _"At least when I preach the Gospel, I invite everyone to salvation. Calvinists can't do that."_ A great example of what I claim. A lie with no evidence, yet the very confessions Calvinists make refute it. See for example the Canons of Dort (the document TULIP is meant to point to), The Third and Fourth Main Points of Doctrine, Article 8: The Earnest Call of the Gospel: "Nevertheless, all who are called through the gospel are called earnestly. For urgently and most genuinely God makes known in the Word what is pleasing to him: that those who are called should come to God. If you have been born again and you know it, then you know that you are saved. You will know God as your father. Few there be that find it. It's between you and Jesus only.
This is heresy! There are no requirements that ensure our salvation. Salvation is a gift from God that we accept or reject…period. You are preaching on merit or good works meaning, we can get ourselves to heaven by what we do not what Jesus did for us! Ppl, read your Bible. This man is a liar! Ephesians 2: 8 & 9. I agree with teaching that sin is wrong but teach how to resist sin is more important, not that our sin will send us to hell. There is no man without sin so basically you’re teaching that nobody will enter the kingdom of heaven. You are teaching that we will stand before God and be judged. Wrong again! Those who believe and have the faith that they are saved by the grace of God will not stand for judgement. They will be held accountable for how they lived as a Christian but not judged. Those who reject Christ will be judged! Those who are saved are forgiven for their sin. You are a sinner and best hope that you are forgiven. We as Christian’s confess our sin thru prayer and ask for forgiveness they are forgiven. Otherwise Jesus would have to die over and over and over to meet you’re requirements. People, run from these Calvinistic beliefs. Trust your faith and belief in Gods living word. He is not quoting scripture to support his requirements. The Bible teaches the simplicity of salvation. We were born sinners and doomed for hell. God sent his son Jesus Christ to take away our sin that we might be saved if we believe that he did die for us. Believing this counts us for righteousness. Not to be judged! If you are saved by Grace and confessed this to Christ, you will enter the kingdom of heaven. Only you and God knows if you truly believe. Notice at the end of this video he does not tell you how to have assurance. Well, the Bible does! Calvinism is no better than the false teachers they claim are false teachers
All the doubt that Reform theology casts on people, and you can't even answer the simple question... how can I know I'm saved? The John Piperites say you have to show almost a sinless perfection. If you have habitual sin in your life, then your heart really wasn't regenerated in Salvation; in short, you're not really chosen to be saved, and there's nothing you can do about it. There are others who say, if you weren't really chosen to be saved by God, then you wouldn't go to church, or care about the things of God in the first place; but that can't be right either. For those who have a false assurance seem to care about the things of God, so then they are not completely depraved sinners with no desire for God. Then what? Are we who have habitual sin in our lives, left to desire to be saved for the rest of our lives, only to be cast into the Lake of Fire, when all the while we are begging Jesus to save us? Why can't you people stop adding to the Bible, and stop quoting old people who died a thousand years ago, and just simply quote the Bible for what it says? Jesus said, He that Believes in Me is not condemned. Paul said, Whosoever shall call upon the Lord shall be saved. It seems salvation is not all that hard; just calling on Jesus and having faith in Him.
The only one I see casting doubt on people's salvation is the haters of Reformed Theology. As Reformed Christianity is a confessional religion, it might help to loot at the answer they have publicly given for 400+ years before claiming they can't answer the question, as they cover your claims and more. Here's some citations from the Westminster Confession of Faith: 1.5b. ...yet, notwithstanding, _our full persuasion and assurance_ of the infallible truth and divine authority thereof, is from *the inward work of the Holy Spirit, bearing witness by and with the Word in our hearts.* 14.3. This faith is different in degrees, weak or strong; may be often and many ways assailed and weakened, but gets the victory; growing up in many _to the attainment of a full assurance_ *through Christ, who is both the author and finisher of our faith.* 16.2. *These good works,* done in obedience to God’s commandments, are the *fruits and evidences* of a true and lively faith: and by them believers manifest their thankfulness, strengthen their assurance, edify their brethren, adorn the profession of the gospel, stop the mouths of the adversaries, and glorify God, whose workmanship they are, created in Christ Jesus thereunto, that, having their fruit unto holiness, they may have the end, eternal life. 16.3 Their ability to do good works is not at all of themselves, *but wholly from the Spirit of Christ.* And that they may be enabled thereunto, besides the graces they have already received, there is required an actual influence of the same Holy Spirit to work in them to will and to do of His good pleasure; yet are they not hereupon to grow negligent, as if they were not bound to perform any duty unless upon a special motion of the Spirit; but they ought to be diligent in stirring up the grace of God that is in them. 16.4. They, who in their obedience, attain to the greatest height which is possible in this life, are so far from being able to supererogate and to do more than God requires, that they fall short of much which in duty they are bound to do. 16.6. Notwithstanding, the persons of believers being accepted through Christ, *their good works also are accepted in Him,* not as though they were in this life wholly unblamable and unreprovable in God’s sight; *but that He, looking upon them in His Son, is pleased to accept and reward that which is sincere,* although accompanied with many weaknesses and imperfections. 18.1. Although hypocrites, and other unregenerate men, may vainly deceive themselves with false hopes and carnal presumptions: of being in the favor of God and estate of salvation; which hope of theirs shall perish: *yet such as truly believe in the Lord Jesus, and love Him in sincerity, endeavoring to walk in all good conscience before Him, may in this life be certainly assured that they are in a state of grace, and may rejoice in the hope of the glory of God: which hope shall never make them ashamed.* 18.2. This certainty is not a bare conjectural and probable persuasion, grounded upon a fallible hope; *but an infallible assurance of faith, founded upon the divine truth of the promises of salvation, the inward evidence of those graces unto which these promises are made, the testimony of the Spirit of adoption witnessing with our spirits that we are the children of God; which Spirit is the earnest of our inheritance, whereby we are sealed to the day of redemption.* 18.3 This infallible assurance doth not so belong to the essence of faith but that a true believer may wait long and conflict with many difficulties before he be partaker of it: yet, being enabled by the Spirit to know the things which are freely given him of God, he may, without extraordinary revelation, in the right use of ordinary means, attain thereunto. And therefore it is the duty of everyone to give all diligence to make his calling and election sure; that thereby his heart may be enlarged in peace and joy in the Holy Ghost, in love and thankfulness to God, and in strength and cheerfulness in the duties of obedience, the proper fruits of this assurance: so far is it from inclining men to looseness. That's a sampling. It would be wise to read the full chapters to get the full context and more nuance I passed over to keep my post focused on the sections that most directly answer your doubt.
I agree, it is tortuous listening and reading these doctrines of demons. God is good, He loves in Creation but mankind does not love Him. Those that do, repent, believe the truth and are saved. Yet, we must keep seeking the truth in this dimension of devils and deceptions or we could be deceived. Rev. 13.3
Simple: If you're arrogant and proud, thinking you're a "good person," good luck! If you're broken, humble and doubt your own salvation... you're good.
It’s interesting because if you can be saved without knowing your saved it blows up saved by faith ! If your saved without Faith then the scriptures is wrong that you are saved by faith and faith alone ! It’s like your teaching your saved by sovereignty through the grace of God which leads to faith ! Is that faith alone ? It sounds more like God’s faith rather then believers faith ! I actually believe you saved faith and it’s the grace of God that God allows us to be saved by faith In Jesus Christ rather then the impossible act of earning salvation by your own works ! I know Calvin thought differently but Calvin is just a man like you and me !
His reference to one "saved, but does not know they are saved" does not mean they will never know it before they leave this world😉....do you believe all babies & small children go to hell when they die? If not, are they not saved & not know it?

Christ is the only assurance. If you for any reason believe that you are saved apart from the blood of Christ then you can be assured you have false assurance. However on the contrary… if you believe in Christ and trust in Him alone then you can be assured that you are saved for Gods word has confirmed this over and over

Where does God save us from? We are save from the power of SIN! Those who are in Christ have the authority to trample sin by renouncing it in Jesus name! We have the “real power” through the Holy Spirit ( acts 1:8)
I genuinely and sincerely, from the bottom of my soul, believe Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God, God the Son himself. I therefore take his warnings about losing our individual souls very very seriously. Because the simple truth is that Jesus is EXACTLY who he says he is, namely God himself and the consequences of NOT believing in him are very serious indeed. Jesus said if we do not put our faith in him before we die, we will be separated from him forever in a place Jesus himself called Hell. Just think of the shock at the moment we die when we find out Jesus was indeed God, and the die is cast. There will be no second chances. That is why I send these messages in the hope that they help someone to find the truth. Jesus is the Son of God, believe and be saved

I had an online friend recommend this ministry, and wie; talk about heresy!!
This is some of the worst and most-deceptive preaching out there.
The Son and the Father are One. The Son isn't our defense while the Father is the accuser. You have Him confused with the devil.
My heart is wicked. I could never earn my way to heaven. My only hope is in Jesus Christ
That's right. He saved you 2000 years ago whether you believe it or not. Faith can only come from God. If you don't have it, then he didn't give it to you. If you have it, then thank God for it.

Luke 13: 23 And someone said to Him, “Lord, are there just a few who are being saved?” And He said to them, 24 “Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. 25 Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock on the door, saying, ‘Lord, open up to us!’ then He will answer and say to you, ‘I do not know where you are from.’ 26 Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets’; 27 and He will say, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you are from; depart from Me, all you evildoers.’
Philippians 2: 12 So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.
By this we know that we are in Him: 6 the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.
Romans 6: 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8: 14 For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
Remember, being biblically, or " doctrinally correct, does not in any way = eternal salvation. Only being crucified with Christ is the Way He makes for entry.
This is hands down one of the most important lectures I’ve ever heard in my life.
Only through the merits of Jesus Christ am I saved by Him. Jesus Christ died on the Cross at Calvary and rose again on the third day in order to save me from my sins and give me eternal life-- because I believe in Him. No other reason. ❤🙏✝️ I tired of being terrified by every wind of doctrine.
Me too!!!
@@jacquimeier800 I want to encourage you that we can fully trust Jesus and His promises. Rest easy, there are many voices in the world that will tell you eternal security is a lie. Jesus tells us clearly in John 6 twice, all given to Him NONE will He lose. Rest in Him
It is the BLOOD OF JESUS THAT COVERS MY SIN BUT THAT DOES NOT GIVE ME THE RIGHT TO SIN. IT IS BECAUSE I LOVE HIM I REALLY DONT WANT TO LET HIM DOWN FOR WHAT HE HAS DONE FOR ME AMEN❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉

Also, Mark 13:22 & Matthew 24:24
On what basis are you trusting in any human preacher for your salvation because you presume they may be better than the Pharisees whom Jesus clearly exposed as liars and hypocrites?
The truth is that all you are gaining is having your ears tickled.
Your problem is failure to read the bible properly and discern Jesus' true teaching.
FYI - Jesus did not teach philosophy.
You are hopelessly lost!
So agree. What a marvelous gift he had!
@@toonybrain RC Sproul is an apostate - a false teacher.
You're having your ears tickled and being deceived!
Read the bible instead and study properly.
In every generation the Lord has servants everywhere ,they all are cut from a different mould, encouraging and warning people to come to Jesus to b saved from their sins, only the power of Jesus matchless love can make this possible, amen and amen!!
FYI - Satan also has servants everywhere - Matthew 24:4 & 5
Mark 13:22 & Matthew 24:24
So you have the ability to know the difference?
You obviously are not reading from source - try opening a bible and check for yourself.
@@Chris_Sheridan are you Satan's servant?
@Jeff Blanton FYI - Christians are diverse worldwide; they are found in every land and culture, however, they are NOT 'cut from a different mould' - they are united in ONE faith and have unity and purpose in Christ's teaching.
Genuine Christians are defined by their compliance with scripture >
'Now I urge you, brothers, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you should all speak in agreement and that there should be no divisions among you, but that you may be completely united in the same mind and in the same line of thought.' - 1 Corinthians 1:10
'.. not forsaking our meeting together, as some have the custom, but encouraging one another, and all the more so as you see the day drawing near.' - Hebrews 10:25
There is only one global organization that is fully showing obedience to Jesus' command to preach and make disciples - Matthew 28:19 & 20
The vast majority of churches do not follow the example set by the early Christian congregations, namely preaching from house to house - Acts 20:20
The millions who claim to be Christian do not preach nor teach - they claim to have faith, yet they do not have Christian works to demonstrate that faith - 'faith without works is useless' - James 2:20
'But do you care to know, O empty man, that faith without works is useless?'
Note what Jesus said:
"Most truly I say to you, whoever exercises faith in me will also do the works that I do; and he will do works greater than these, because I am going my way to the Father."
This refers to the preaching work during the 'last days' (time of the end) - Matthew 24:14
"And this good news of the Kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come."
No-one is 'saved' unless they remain active and demonstrate their faith right up to the end. _-Matthew 24:13
"But the one who has endured to the end will be saved."
Christians do not sit around at home waiting for things to happen imagining that God is going to pluck them out of the air and rescue them for doing nothing. The examples are clear - Noah preached to his generation for some 40~50 years while he was constructing the ark - he was continuously active in fine works, showing his obedience and submission to God's direction. - Genesis 6:22
'And Noah did according to all that God had commanded him. He did just so.'
Noah was not saved until he complied with God's command to enter into the ark. After that God sealed the door and only at that point was salvation guaranteed for Noah and his family.
'So they went in, male and female of every sort of flesh, just as God had commanded him. After that Jehovah shut the door behind him.' - Genesis 7:16
I really like listening to RC. His teachings always hits the spot. Thank you.

I remember the good old days when the Gospel was repent and put your trust in Christ alone. How do I know I’m saved. Because it is written “ whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God.” 1 John 5:1
To suggest that people are saved without knowing it or are saved before placing faith in Christ, can not be found anywhere. In the scriptures. They are working hard to defend a doctrine that is simply not taught in scripture.

False. The only assurance is believing the promise of eternal life and Jesus promised.

Today? I go in and when I see someone I ask, “Do you love him?”
Their answer is a giveaway.

Yes. And I see evidence of that right here in the comment section.
that's right - it is an assumption that people will rely on their sinners prayer for salvation and continue to live life without repentance. this is not always the case. i prayed the sinners prayer as a teenager at an easter camp and many decades down the track i am still walking by faith and trusting in Jesus. there are good preachers out there saying the sinners prayer is wrong - yet when they give the gospel to people, they offer them the prayer of repentance/sinners prayer. there has to be the acknowledgement that we are sinners, rebelling against a holy God. Paul tells us in Romans 10:9 whoever believes on the Lord Jesus Christ abd confessing that Jesus raised him from the dead will be saved. and it goes from there. only time and God tells whether a person really meant their life of surrender
to Jesus. The sinners prayer has been so demonised - it should be explained in its fullness. when i hear these preachers discount the prayer - i just hear anger and judgementalism - i say instead of focussing on that explain it in the way it was mean from the bible.

God does the choosing. Man's freewill can choose anything on earth but NOTHING from above.
You must be born from above. And God is the One that bestows this gift. 🙏♥️🙏
John 3:5-8
English Standard Version
5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
John 6:44

44 No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.
Romans 9:10-25

10 And not only so, but also when Rebekah had conceived children by one man, our forefather Isaac, 11 though they were not yet born and had done nothing either good or bad-in order that God's purpose of election might continue, not because of works but because of him who calls- 12 she was told, “The older will serve the younger.” 13 As it is written, “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”
14 What shall we say then?
25 As indeed he says in Hosea,
“Those who were not my people I will call ‘my people,’
and her who was not beloved I will call ‘beloved.’

Nebuchadnezzar Restored
34 At the end of the days I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my reason returned to me, and I blessed the Most High, and praised and honored him who lives forever,
for his dominion is an everlasting dominion,
and his kingdom endures from generation to generation;
35 all the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing,
and he does according to his will among the host of heaven
and among the inhabitants of the earth;
and none can stay his hand
or say to him, “What have you done?”
Not by feeling but by faith
Some people trust in their decision not on the cross

that’s another view that needs to be reproved harshly, “Christians” need to wake up. I’m afraid for Arminianism.
@@bry440I'm afraid for Arminianists and Calvinists.
I love that answer
the question i have is when is a person saved: belief, repentance, confession, baptism, death? when
"The three tenses of salvation:
I have been saved from sin's penalty. That is Justification.
I am being saved from sin's power. That is Sanctification.
I will be saved from sin's presence. That is Glorification"
-- Alistair Begg
First happens once for each Christian in this life
Second is life long
Third will happen to all Christians at the resurrection
A person is saved in eternity past.
All who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been slain. (Revelation 13:8, NASB)
So then it begins and ends in God's merciful election.
(Ephesians 2:10, NASB)
A believer is not saved by his works.
(1 John 5:13, NASB)
So then a man can know he is saved.
If a man believes on Christ alone to pay his sin debt to God and his faith causes him to obey Christ he is saved.
What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him? (James 2:14, NASB)
A man is saved by the Holy Spirit at the moment of his belief in God's Son and gospel.
Does the order of it matter more than the fact of it?
Salvation occurs when the Holy Spirit regenerates a dead sinner's s heart. Because of regeneration;
repentance from sin and unbelief,
faith in the Triune God,
Confession of Christ
Baptism into the Church
And victory over death and the grave necessarily follow.
@@jtlearn1 does not Galatians 3:21 state that me were baptized into Christ, is that synonymous?
For over two thousand years the precise intent of biblical passages have been debated. Blessed be this man and the lucky few to hear him for they know what the bible says.
The key to this vs. is Whoever does the will of the Father, What is the will of the father? Those that have done great works in his name, or call him Lord ,Lord. Those that have cast out demons in his name..absolutley NOT. These are people who are trying to please God by their works...works Gosple. The will of the father is that you believe in his son Jesus Christ as savior. Acts:16:31. Dr Sprol never talks about the exact time a person is saved completely.
Calvinists have a false gospel, so they have it wrong anyway.
You write your autobiography.
_"I said nothing that would even imply those things."_
Isn't that my point? Anti-calvinists never write anything that explains the gospel or build up the Church, they only tear down Calvinists and create disunity in the body of Christ.
_"At least when I preach the Gospel, I invite everyone to salvation. Calvinists can't do that."_
A great example of what I claim. A lie with no evidence, yet the very confessions Calvinists make refute it. See for example the Canons of Dort (the document TULIP is meant to point to), The Third and Fourth Main Points of Doctrine, Article 8: The Earnest Call of the Gospel:
"Nevertheless, all who are called through the gospel are called earnestly. For urgently and most genuinely God makes known in the Word what is pleasing to him: that those who are called should come to God. God also earnestly promises rest for their souls and eternal life to all who do come and believe."
God calls Christians to bring forward multiple witnesses when making charges against another, bearing false witness against fellow Christians not backed by any evidence reveals the true nature of your heart better than anything you could explicitly say.

I´m with you. Gibberish that cannot save and is nowhere near the truth. Calvinism is hopeless, a branch of talmudic-judaism, re-formed catholicism.
He didn't say there are any requirments. He's ponting out false assurances, did you watch the video?
I'm a sinner, not as bad as I could be but I think I'm one of the worst sinners in the world.
Here's some citations from the Westminster Confession of Faith:
1.5b. ...yet, notwithstanding, _our full persuasion and assurance_ of the infallible truth and divine authority thereof, is from *the inward work of the Holy Spirit, bearing witness by and with the Word in our hearts.*
14.3. This faith is different in degrees, weak or strong; may be often and many ways assailed and weakened, but gets the victory; growing up in many _to the attainment of a full assurance_ *through Christ, who is both the author and finisher of our faith.*
18.1. Although hypocrites, and other unregenerate men, may vainly deceive themselves with false hopes and carnal presumptions: of being in the favor of God and estate of salvation; which hope of theirs shall perish: *yet such as truly believe in the Lord Jesus, and love Him in sincerity, endeavoring to walk in all good conscience before Him, may in this life be certainly assured that they are in a state of grace, and may rejoice in the hope of the glory of God: which hope shall never make them ashamed.*
18.2. This certainty is not a bare conjectural and probable persuasion, grounded upon a fallible hope; *but an infallible assurance of faith, founded upon the divine truth of the promises of salvation, the inward evidence of those graces unto which these promises are made, the testimony of the Spirit of adoption witnessing with our spirits that we are the children of God; which Spirit is the earnest of our inheritance, whereby we are sealed to the day of redemption.*
18.3 This infallible assurance doth not so belong to the essence of faith but that a true believer may wait long and conflict with many difficulties before he be partaker of it: yet, being enabled by the Spirit to know the things which are freely given him of God, he may, without extraordinary revelation, in the right use of ordinary means, attain thereunto.
