Nicely done and extremely helpful. Quick and to the point. THANK YOU! I too love the color grading. And while many of the color grading features have been there since the Sony days (color corrector, color corrector (secondary), color curves, plus the vectorscope / waveform / histogram / RGB parade scopes), they were a PAIN to use. This is a significant improvement in usability. And all the other updates you highlighted definitely make it worth the upgrade. Thanks again for putting this together! As a side note for your viewers asking about the Boris FX Continuum installation, it's not intuitive AT ALL. But if they go to the Boris FX site, Legacy Downloads, Continuum and download the latest OFX Windows 64-bit version of it, they can install and use the serial numbers that came with their purchase. I had to install it three times (once for each serial number that came with the Vegas Pro Suite), but it worked. Hey great video...But could you make a video on the changes made from the old version of vegas pro to the latest. Lets say, Sony Vegas Pro 11 vs Magix Vegas Pro 17 !!....
GPU is only used slightly when decoding and encoding. It's never going to be used 100%. It's just going to assist your CPU so that it can render faster.
nice advances! have you played with warp distortion (I look into this because I want to get 4:3 footage into 16:9 where the center stays in correct aspect and only the sides are horizontally distorted). Every editor randomly crashes. Premiere, AVID, Resolve. If you can show my an editor that never crashes I may make the switch lol. But VEGAS 17 crashes less than all the other versions I've used.
(Hi, new subscriber here) Using the new "Updated" Video Stabilization effect makes my Vegas pro 17 crash everytime I analyze motion. Idk if its a software bug or hardware problem but the crashing keeps happening whenever I use that effect. I never had this issue on Vegas pro 16 before, ig im gonna have to wait for a bug fix update.
Hey I'm sorry to hear that. I haven't had any crashes using the new'y built stabilizer but I've only used it twice I think. It could also be an issue with the source file you're stabilizing. Try downloading Handbrake and recompiling your video to one of the MP4 presets (even if your video is already MP4). Look us a RUclips tutorial on how to correctly convert a file in handbrake and see if the new file still crashes
Scrapyard Films I havent tried that yet thanks for the tip. Some forums I found about this problem gave similar solutions. Converting the source file using a video converter. It seems that this problem started since Vegas 14 was released and some people started having the same issue. And its not just the builtin stabilizer that crashes, I have BCC plugin installed and the BCC optical stabilizer also crash my Vegas.
@@ScrapyardFilms ok so quick update, changing the file type or recompiling the source footage doesnt work. Ive tried every means of using different videos and converting them. It would seem to be a bug in the software cuz I've just reinstalled Vegas Pro 16 and tested the stabilizer on that using the same source files and it works just fine. Looks like the "Updated" stabilizer tool just doesn't work for me now, and I think I'm the only one who has this problem on this update cuz I cant find anyone talk about it in forums.
