Yes he does, I saw him yesterday at the Hollywood Bowl and he still sounds amazing, just like he did in his younger days. You will truly enjoy his performance. I'm over 60 and still enjoy his music.
It must be an absolute thrill for Robert to have ex Bowie and Tin Machine guitar destroyer Reeves Gabrels in the band. He's always been one of my faves, as anyone who witnessed what Reeves produced in those stunning 96-97 Bowie shows would agree, he lifted them to new heights. Robert first met Reeves in 97 at Bowie's white hot 50th birthday NY concert where they both played alongside the iconic chameleon of rock. With Robert loving David so much, Reeves is the perfect guitarist for Robert and its lifted The Cure to their peak as a live performing band.
Wow!! What a solo on A Night Like This from ex Bowie and Tin Machine guitar maestro Reeves Gabrels. So great youve got him here showing his power through his solo. He's been destroying it with this song's solos right through this and the previous tour. He's so great that the solos differ a lot, and this is one of his best. My fave song of theirs live, as Roberts voice is hauntingly beautiful and with Reeves onboard, they sound at their absolute peak.
Same, I had to fly there as it was sold out in every other city I looked. I ended up getting a fan resale ticket at the last minute and bought my plane ticket right away!
