Coppice Way in Hedgerley, Slough is where the Trent residence was filmed.

Finally, a comprehensive breakdown of primeval. I haven't seen anything like this since the channel Edaphosaurus did his review of the show many years ago now. Hopefully you guys carry this on. Glad there's a still a dedicated following of primeval. Keep up the good work!

Kind of a shame he lost motivation to do the rest of Series 2, but I hope he is doing ok in real life

I'd love to see more of these. Thanks for making and uploading this.
I've just gotten back into Primeval, due to rrading the series 1 novelisations, so it's perfect timing. Not really watched the series for a few years, so I'm planning a rewatch.

@@thegreatprimevalshow I do rewatch it every few years or so, and it's always fun.
I remember when this first episode originally aired. I had seen adverts for it and thought it looked interesting, being almost 10, a fan of Doctor Who and a fan of dinosaurs (I didn't realise at the time that the "dinosaurs" in the first episode were from before dinosaur times and weren't actualy dinosaurs). My father was decorating the living room that day and he told my siser and I that he had a show that we'd like on BBC One at some time in the evening. I tod him I already knew there was aa show on ITV1 that evening at a simillar tme. It turned out we were both on about the same show, he just got the channel and broadcast time wrong. We watched it in the living room, where the sofas were closer to the TV than normal, due to him having painted the walls, but them not being dry enough for the furniture to be moved back at that point.

Great video as always, guys! Looking forward to future episodes!
Also, not sure if it was intentional, but I love the little detail of the text in the thumbnail being off-centre, like you mentioned with the original opening titles!

Lovely stuff - detailed analysis with a dash of humour, excellent. Great to dig into the writers' intentions too. I'd love to hear your opinion/rating on each episode maybe - which are your favourites, what did you enjoy about certain bits? Well done again 👍

And this is where it all started. I remember watching this very first episode of the show on Saturday night, seeing Helen being chase by a prehistoric creature in the car park at Asda and then meeting Nick Cutter, Stephen Hart and Connor Temple and then later meeting Abby Maitland and then meeting Claudia Brown and then James Lester. Great show.

I think the Gorgonopsid, whilst a little oversized isn't actually that oversized when you look at the casts heights. That model you showed was one next to a 6ft human when the majoirty of the cast are below 5'10, minus Jame Murray who is nearly 6ft, which further proves the point as its head is the only thing taller than him.
In conclusion: the cast is mostly short (relatable)

This is a nice video. Glad that you guys covered episode 1. Here's to hoping the rest of the show, the novels, and the comics are covered. (Maybe even a bit of a look into Primeval: New World.)
Also, with the creature profiles, it kind of makes me want to see a size comparison of the Primeval creatures to both their real-life counterparts and an average-sized human.

Thats a cool idea. Maybe @HodgePodge7 might be interested in doing the creature video?

Nice vid! Just some lil precisions, Juliet Aubrey is spelled "JUlIET" instead of "JULIET" in the credits and there are 49 episodes in total 😉

I blame AncientRealms for the mistake 😅
We did say “48 more” episodes to go, so we weren’t counting 1x1.

I never did understand what Stephan’s plan was by hunting the Gorgonopsid considering he had no weapon of any kind I always found that aspect of this episode kind of dumb personally.

    • @rtaylor7384
      @rtaylor7384 4 месяца назад +1

I think they were being like all people. Seeing if the rumours were true that there was a prehistoric creature out there so they were not being creature hunters yet at this point until it becomes a thing later on.

Actually its pretty accurate for an english man 😂
Back when my grandad was a young lad, a croc escaped a nearby zoo and he and his mates just went to look for it with nowt to protect themselves. His mate ended wrestling with the thing as another on went to the telephone box to tell the coppers theyd found it. So for myself, that is 100% normal englishman idiocy
