Hi, i'm loving my new Sky Stream but i have to set it at 2160p UHD every day as it reverts back to 1080p every morning. Any suggestions or tips would be more than welcome. Many thanks.
@@stevemarruk Thanks for you're reply. The TV is a Hisense E7HQTUK 55" purchased just before Christmas and the Picture is set at UHD and the HDMI Cable is a Zeskit Cinema Series 4K High Speed Cable. Should the Puck be plugged into the TV or my Yamaha AV Receiver?
After a buggy start my Sky Stream is working great now, I’m really impressed with it and it’s very slick, still the occasional issue but no regrets signing up to it
Hi. If I add an ultra HD football match on sky sports to my sky stream playlist will I be able to watch it a day later in ultra HD. Basically my question is are cloud recordings available in ultra HD?
Without a recording facility it would be unusable. Sky have no ad free services in their entire catalogue outside of the films via Sky Cinema so unless that changes, which is impossible whilst owned by Comcast, so Q is the only option.
Best thing to date, had it one week and loving the playlists from all the different stream providers, so don’t have to keep going in and out of apps, so far soooo good. The only thing I have found is when a user creates their own playlist, they have to use pin to watch certain programs, hope this is sorted with an update. Pin has been turned off in settings. Not being able to record is noooo issue for me. Love your channel mate, itv x has been issues on other platforms as well.
Sky stream has been a disaster for me, and currently speaking to Sky to either return to Q or cancel my contract. My experience, and those of many others on the forums, is that the boxes just don't work properly. My personal take is that they just don't have the hardware grunt to manage this service. I've got a flawless network and I experience: 1)Programme waiting to load...and never loading 2) Netflix judder 3) Alternarive streams on the golf channel failing to load, getting a green error screen 4) unable to rewind or fast forward beyond ×6 speed 5) after playing a paused feed, after 20 mins the channel will just skip to the live feed, so miss action 6) picture pixelation and break up. All my boxes have been tried with WiFi and hardwired, with multiple resets, makes no difference.
Good video Steve , I’ve just got a Sky Stream last week altogether really pleased with it apart from the old master reset…every now and then. Paying £25 a month on a 31 rolling contract and £2.50 for the ad skipping. All in all very good for me.
How do you get ad skipping to work? I was pressing the top middle button to try and fast forward ( same as you use to pause) and nothing was happening ( 😆 ) Update Sun 12th Had a bit more time to watch tv and sussed the ad skipping on my Playlist. You use the right hand side of the big circle in the middle of your remote, Love the feature where you say a name and it brings up everything the person’s ever been in. I’m really liking Streaming. No need to record when you can call up anything you want.
@@joanthomas6337 you can only use it on something that’s you’ve either saved to your playlist or if a program has already started you can play from the beginning and ad skip that way. You can’t ad skip live tv ads, if this makes sense .
I'm confused. Why would you pay for the expensive Sky Stream when in other videos you've said that Apple TV 4K plus Now TV is all you need. I've just given up Sky Q after 23 years as it was costing £80 a month. I'm going with just Now TV and Apple 4K from now on.
Connected my sky stream yesterday after virgin media put my price up £15 a month (28%) which allowed me to leave my contract free of charge (and as it was now similar price to sky, I left). Think I’ll end up watching alot more tv due to its interface instead of only really watching BT Sports on Virgin. Having Sky Sports over BT sports is also an upgrade.
Virgins pricing policy is ridiculous, I ditched them as they wanted over £100 a month for their sports and entertainment package, people are trying to save money at the moment
@@stevemarrukGreed. I was paying Virgin £74 a month for TV and Broadband on a deal, when it expired they wanted to put it up to £124 per month! so I cancelled the TV and kept the broadband. I now get Sky Steam, Sky Sports and Netflix for £47, pretty good value i.m.o.
So are you thinking of changing to Sky Stream? What you got at the moment?

What’s your TV picture set to? Also what HDMI lead you using? Try making som subtle changes.

I have mine into my TV direct and use fibre optics for sound to the bar. Works a treat.

Agreed 100%
Same here. The last updates have made a huge difference

Nice one and keep us posted on how you get on

@@MrSamsung99uk Thanks - yes I found ad skipping works via the outside edge of the big circular button on the remote on Playlist shows.

lol 😂 I get you but I review tech so I keep my eye on and make it my thing to know what’s going on so I can do videos for you guys.
Loving my Sky stream, had it from launch, my only gripe is, I wish it had a few more streaming apps, other than that it’s a brilliant little box.
I know what you mean they open open a sky play store sort of thing
Excellent video Steve, I still prefer sky q because of the recording aspect and more channels.
Thanks man and that why is good to have choices.
I’m using my Sky Stream more than Apple TV lately. It collates content much better.
That’s interesting 🤔 keep us posted Brandon
I would say Apple TV is more open because you may have apps from different countries on one device while Sky Stream is only British content
Very true
Voice control can be really useful. Typing text on the virtual keyboard with a remote is a painful experience.
What have u done with NOW tv Steve? I decided to keep stream & have had the puck since October last year
I still have now TV 📺 and sky stream

I wonder why they are doing that they are going to loose good people like yourself.

Holy crap that outrageous!!!
Are the Music channels in HD
I find it good.
Just can't get the lipsync sorted.
I’m on day one but constantly getting just a black screen
I want to see more channels arrive such as MUTV
Fair enough
@@stevemarruk I still want Sky Stream though
Lol
I went back to sky Q
If that works for you that good. Choice is a good thing.
Anyone told you before that you sound a lot like Harry Redknapp?
Bahahhaha nope but okay lol
Think i stay with my free sat & now tv & prime video .
Yeah it works for you than go for it
