Heres my virdict about sky stream after using it for several months am fed up and going to sky q this is due to the plethora of issues 1 ads get stuck on a constant loop fast forward on 30x is really rough and not smooth at all programmes reset back after a ad and have to fast forward at 12x so it does not crash ad sometimes even double play over the software is rubbish utter rubbish from os 1.2 to 1.3 very minimal bug fixes update bbc crashes netflix broken if you browse long enough quits and exits constant freezing the wifi problem now this is getting on my nerves consistantly drops connection i have a whole home mesh system with 1gb fibre speeds are more than quick enough signal strong throughout the home sluggish on 1.3 update constant please wait at home in a channel keeps saying a technical error has occured go up 1 channel back to the channel i was watching kicks back in straight away its shoddy hardware and the software is just a real rough mess and i aint putting up with it no futher only thing nice is the remote and the box is 4k all this could of been much smoother if they had proper developers for their products be so simple if you added a simple 50gb nvme drive inside for the software that would of been polished and had some recording feature for playback for a better experience and made the entire box run much more free just really rushed in my opinion and the software sky get your software department a kick in the backside its a joke... also got the whole home package just to iron out if its was just 1 puck issue no they both same software and still exact same issue so its down to software and poor implementation..

If I want to go back and watch something that was on channel 4, for example, from a few hours ago, am I able to skip adverts, or is it like catch up apps where I have to sit through them?

I personally love sky Q easy to operate and recording is got Plus point where sky stream is more of thrown with lot of mixers confusing system may be my age 😊

That "auto" gearbox is a liability. Apart from the way it drives, warranty companies treat it as a manual meaning that any problems with the internal clutch won't be covered

Oh wow, that is misleading. I thought it was like a proper TV System, like Freeview or Freesat. I didn’t realise it just Prompted you onto the Apps. I don’t like the BBC/ITV live Tv on iplayer and ItvX becuase it’s always strangely behind by a few minutes, which I don’t like.

I've had a look at Now TV today. How on earth do you add entertainment and sport into the same basket to purchase all at once? Assuming you have to do it separately, do you have to buy two separate 'boosts' to watch in 4k or would one 'boost' cover both?

My SKY Stream contract begins tomorrow. I always resisted Sky and had several Humax FreeSat devices which were excellent value and covered all my needs- alongside NETFLIX/Prime & Apple TV+. My current Humax box died and after some consideration I decided to bite the bullet and sub to Sky Stream and include broadband and landline in my deal. I'm getting it all for roughly the same price as my current EE broadband and Landline deal.

Nice video, but you're complaining about Prime adding ads(which is crap i admit)...meanwhile Sky TV is riddled with ads. The live TV has ads, and i believe you have to add a package to remove ads on Sky Entertainment on demand also. The "free" Netflix you get with Sky also has ads and it's £6 to remove them. Call them all out.

Can you watch live tv and record stuff on Apple TV like you do with Sky Stream?

Hi Steve. Just buy an apple tv ..... unfortunately what I didn't realise is that for iplayer it doesn't support subtitles. Which for most people would be okay but having two family members who are hearing impaired causes some issues. I never even questioned that this would be an issue..... maybe you can put an edit on the videos warning people. Love your videos buddy otherwise. Peace.

I like sky Q better, because the live tv channels is much easier to navigate. On sky stream the live tv is considered secondary

Currently on EE TV, but can see myself getting Sky Stream in the future, especially with the EE and Sky partnership.

There is definitely an extra payment you have to make for ultra hd I got mine for £4

Having switched from Sky Q to Sky Stream, mainly on cost grounds, I’m fairly satisfied. However, I cannot find out whether or not, and if so how, I can access it on my iPad and iPhone, as I I could with Sky Q - particularly useful when away from home etc. can anyone out there advise a septuagenarian tech idiot? How come my previous shows are greyed out? If I click them it just launches live tv.

I had a replacement puck recently and now when i start a show halfway through and then start it from rhe beginning and forward through the ads, it'll stop playing the show im watching and just start playing whats on live and i miss the end of the show im watching. So now every time im forwarding through a show I've started from the beginning im scared that it'll stop and revert to whats on live. These things are so unstable.

Currently switched over from sky fibre to EE and really good so far and in process of switching TV service to EE with the Apple Tv 4k as majority of most watching habits are through streaming apps nowadays to be honest

Went to Sky Stream recently, and now on day 4 and throughout the weekend of no service as it is down with technical issues. Customers are left in the dark and no way to contact Sky without paying through the nose for the calls Not a good start.
