Even though there were a few bugs, I like the Sky Stream. I'm glad it's added more of the channels I watch on Freeview back in June. There were a few bugs at first when I got it, but I thought, "It's my first time using it. There are gonna be a few bugs at first." Other than that, I'm not bothered by it. It's really useful to have in my bedroom.
Thanks for this very informative video. I am really interested in how playlists work for the channels that have their own catch up apps (i.e. BBC, ITV, C4, C5, UKTV). Do they all work using the app or are any integrated fully into Sky Stream? Also does the advert skipping still work for them? I went to Curry's to ask for a demo of this but they don't have any live ststem in store. Thank you 🙏🏻
You’re welcome, they use their own streaming platform, e.g BBC channels will be kept on BBC iPlayer. Ad skipping let’s you fast forward the advert portion, this works on apps such as ITVX, STV Player and All4TV apps. Content on RUclips won’t work as it requires their own premium subscription, same applies for Spotify etc.
@@KhaledsTech Thanks for getting back to me. I was afraid you were going to say that. I was really hoping the catch up was fully integrated into the Sky Stream platform outside of ITVX etc. The good news is that the ad skipping works. I'm not worried about RUclips, I already subscribe to RUclips Premium which is literally the best streaming deal going. It's fantastic. I will have to cancel my existing Sky subscription to get Sky Stream so it is a big decision 😬
You’re welcome, if I were to pick between the two then I would select Sky Q, for now it’s the superior product even if you have to pay £5 a month to view HD content. Sky Stream is getting there and is a great product and I believe will eventually become the replacement for Sky Q.
Hello, so as I’ve seen with international channels like Utsav plus do they have all the dramas on demand since recording feature isn’t there. Thinking of going back to sky after many years but wasn’t soo sure when I saw stream. Great video btw
Great video, can I ask is this as good as it seems ?. I have sky Q but live in a new build flat and our communal dish is hit n miss so this may be a better option, what are your thoughts and opinions ?. Our internet is excellent and the puck will be hardwired 😊
Thank you very much, if it’s hardwired and you have excellent internet connection and don’t mind the missing channels and the recording functionality. Then I would recommend it, at one point we were contemplating to send it back and get Sky Q again, but over time we got accustomed to it and it fits our need. Plus having HD channels as standard is a huge plus. Sky have a 14 day cooling off period so you can test within that time and see if it works for you, if not you can stick with Sky Q but I think you may be surprised.

Really good review which is informative. Do you know if playlists for shows are available for all Asian channels or is it only some. Interested to know if you can have playlists for shows on Sony TV, Utsav Plus, B4U movies and Star Plus? Thanks
Does it have tvs like Disney, watch Netflix, can I add cinema later in the package ? Can watch American dramas like 9-1-1 , greys anatomy or is this included in the sky cinema or Atlantic?
Sky stream is absolutely rubbish live channels are around 30/45 seconds delayed I don’t fancy hearing my neighbours cheering before me. I returned back and went back to SkyQ
ive not watched the entire video but i would like to know if the stream box supports the red button services.....interactive services that is ie; watching football on 4 different red button channels
Having had Now tv streaming service for over a year now I’m thinking of switching to sky stream with broadband as it’s a good offer at the minute M I’m used to lag and drop, outs with now Tv so nothing new if this is similar, just the stream quality is it good for sports etc, now Tv for football is pretty poor quality, is sky stream better has anyone experienced both
It won’t unfortunately, although this is a limitation from BBC and their availability, Sky should warn users that anything going into the playlist will not be viewable due to geographic location etc.

I'm getting Sky Stream delivered today, and it's the whole home package (2 in total boxes) is it best to set up in living room first? I know they are the same box.
1, it only connects you to other on demand services; 2, it constantly confuses itself and gets into loops, failing to connect with any progs on the playlist. I was told by several reps at Sky that my playlist would be saved and put in the Cloud - total BS. Nothing is saved anywhere. If you're lucky, a programme might resume at the same place where you left it. Normally, not. All Sky has done, is put all other providers in the same place and depended on their ability to provide a service. Not a good idea. Sky progs themselves, are the worst of all. If you try to fast forward a couple of minutes, or go back, you're treated to a repetition of the same set of ads, time after time. It's like Groundhog day but much, much, worse. The whole set up is amateur, useless and unbelievably overpriced. Thank you for binging these issues to the consumers attention. NOT. ta
Sky Stream is still in its infancy, and for people who have issues installing a dish this can be a viable option. It’s not great and Sky Q is still the superior product. However it’s still a product that will be useful to users, as I haven’t come across many issues apart from the odd restarts or the puck.
Sky Stream is a series of glitches and is totally worthless in every way. I have super fast broadband and have had nothing but trouble since I got the thing. You're either being paid by Sky to promote a useless service, or you are rubbish at reviewing products.
