This is why game preservation is important, because at some point when all backwards compatibility and support for the games on this console is lost they're lost forever, unless you feel like paying some dude at the retro game store 800 for a used ps4 and a few games

As a Playstation User who had his first PS4 console from 2017 or 18, It is time to make the switch. I will still be playing the best and great PS4 games on my PS5 as well as getting new PS5 games. My PS4 stopped working when Hard Drive was broken and my games kept crashing.
There's hardly any games that show off what the consoles do, barely any multiplayer, and hardly any generation exclusive huge sellers (like bo3 on ps4 and One). If they go through with this, they won't get any support from me on any new system

This is why game preservation is important, because at some point when all backwards compatibility and support for the games on this console is lost they're lost forever, unless you feel like paying some dude at the retro game store 800 for a used ps4 and a few games
Yet some circle of playstation gamers get mad when a exclusive game is preserved on PC it's really odd.
And screw locking games away, so many PS3 games will be lost soon but glad RPCS3 is saving them!

@@coastaku1954Sure, but they’re newer emulators. Dolphin is great for example but it’s 20 years old, it wasn’t always this good; give the Xenia and RPCS3 devs another decade, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was near perfect by that point

As a Playstation User who had his first PS4 console from 2017 or 18, It is time to make the switch. I will still be playing the best and great PS4 games on my PS5 as well as getting new PS5 games. My PS4 stopped working when Hard Drive was broken and my games kept crashing.

There's hardly any games that show off what the consoles do, barely any multiplayer, and hardly any generation exclusive huge sellers (like bo3 on ps4 and One). If they go through with this, they won't get any support from me on any new system

Sony said PS4’s lifecycle will likely be longer than the PS2 (12 years). They will still slowly transition away from PS4 of course but the PS4 still vastly outnumbers the PS5 in terms of money and users. Hell, they’re still making new PS4’s. The last PS3 game was released in 2020 FYI.

At least for Xbox it’s compatible with old games digitally and disk wise so it wouldn’t matter
and for PlayStation it’s never been compatible with past games for disk, and for digital games the PS5 allows you to play your Ps4 games if you bought them digitally
(For disk I have no clue I don’t buy disks)
