Yeah! It’s like, he thinks everything he says will be lost in a void and no one will listen. But when Steve shows up, Bucky sort of knows that he can pour his heart out and someone will finally listen. It kind of depresses me, tbh!
It's freaking true. They freaking screwed over Stucky in Endgame. But they were willing to give a little nod to the Hydra Cap storyline. F*** you Russos. You led us on then flipped us off.
@@kittyplayz1480 they didn't screw it over. Russos knew what they were doing cuz they've been hinting in every movie that Steve and Bucky were never gonna be in a romantic relationship. They're just friends/like family to sum it up. U shouldn't be so angry over something that we all knew wasn't gonna happen. I'm sorry that u had hope for it, but come on. No reason to hate on them for 1 little thing. If u think about it, the ending was much deeper for them than u think. Lmao
I’m not mad they didn’t have a big smooch st the end. I’m mad they turned Steve into a selfish douche who threw all his character development out the window, broke the explicitly explained internal time-travel rules of the movie, and erased Peggy’s whole freaking life. What did he do for the last 70+ years, hide in the house, sit on the couch and watch Hydra infiltrate shield and not tell Peggy about it when she came home from working every night? It was a dumb ending.
When my grandma (who was a teenager during WWII) and I watched Captain America for the first time, she was so upset like "Why is Steve kissing Peggy when he belongs to Bucky?" and I was like very confused and she answered me "Really, Fran, 'till the end of the line?' that pretty much sounds like 'till death do us apart' and we both know what that means." And she went on for about half an hour cursing Marvel for not making it canon. Just putting it there.
suzawilo The funniest thing is, whenever we rewatch the Captain America movies she just does the squinty™️ (like Spider-Man) and goes like “I’m still mad at you Rogers” and I laugh my ass out every time 😅
I also wanted to add to my previous comment that while Peggy is Steve's canon love interest, it's Bucky who's been playing the role of "love interest" since Winter Soldier in a sense that tropes typically given to love interests apply to him (i.e. being Captain America's damsel in distress and motivation for most of what he does). I mean, people are ultimately free to interpret their relationship however they want, but a romantic interpretation is just as valid as a platonic one because the narrative actually supports it and because a Marvel comic writer, Mark Waid, literally confirmed that Bucky had a crush on Steve in the past.
_ JulesCoolGaming _ winter solder literally felt like a gay fan fiction. “It’s hard to find [a romantic partner] with shared life experience” LIKE BRO I CAN THINK IF OF SOMEONE-
_ JulesCoolGaming _ AHHHHHHHHHH! ENDGAME ROBBED ME! Let’s be real, if they had a real reconnection in endgame, then they would have kissed, or had some sorta non platonic interaction. I’m not saying this from a “I want the ship to sail” place, it’s coming from realistic relationship standpoint. They didn’t even have a “hi, glad to see your alive”. Cap relied on Bucky so much. He had(childhood), lost (capture), had, lost(train), had(hydra), lost(civil war brainwash), had, lost(wakanda), had, lost(snap) and they FINALLY FOUND EACH OTHER AND- nothing. Not even a look during the portals. It kills me.
Snikker Snakker Dude youre in a channel where a person tries to find the gayness of two close bros who are shipped. This whole channel is about that what did you expect. Sheesh. Let people have fun with their ship , considering the actors didnt feel anywhere near uncomfortable about it.
i was actually pissed at steve for trying to kill my baby tony, but then again i get where steve’s coming from considering the fact that bucky was probably a better friend than tony and treated him like a brother for all of steve’s time living, while he just met tony and even bickered the first time.
I think Steve's love for Peggy is totally valid.. he definitely had some feelings for her, BUT he absolutely wouldn't have just traveled back in time and spent his life with her ESPECIALLY not after causing an entire Civil War between the Avengers to save Bucky... Steve wouldn't have just dipped and left Bucky to recover from Hyrda alone-- not to mention the fact that Peggy literally moved on, got married, and had a whole ass family. Steve's ending in Endgame wasn't accurate at all considering there were nearly THREE movies about Steve and Bucky. I rest my case.
It's been years and this still cheeses me off cause you're right, Peggy moved on! She had a damn good life and a family of her own. "Even when I had nothin' I had Bucky" breaks my heart every time, 'ship or no 'ship.
Leaving nobody behind is such a big part of his characters ideals, him leaving his best friend behind in the future (wether you ship them or not) seems extremely out of character...
i knooooooow, i just hated the way they did steve, bucky and sam (ugh, just ugh) are you telling me Steve Rogers, who is supposed to finally moved over his past, saved and started a war for Bucky, who always put his work as a hero first, just say "fuck off, i'm leaving the person who I love the most, to be with someone whom i'm not sure is gonna work out" ???? just because "no homo" Disney? It was an insult to Captain's arc.
In my opinion I think Sam got the shield instead of Bucky because it would be more convenient for the plot of the new Disney+ series that they have for Sam and Bucky
Another point is that in TWS, the moment Steve tells Bucky that he's not going to fight him, is the first time he's ever given up on a fight. Also, rather than giving up on a fight for his other "best friend" Tony, he says "I can do this all day." So Bucky is the first and only person Steve has stopped fighting/ surrendered to while fighting
why would that mean they are in love?MAYBE just MAYBE if you read the comics you'll find out they are practically brothers i have friends and if they want to kill someone (highly unlikely but example) and they choose not to kill me because ive known them for years and see them as a brother i dont assume they are gay you moron
@@felineleijon8065 he moved away from that crush and was with Natasha and other girls later in the comics. Try again, sweetie. People can move on from crushes and him and Bucky were never together :3
So wait a second, Steve said the same thing to Tony that he said to that bully that Bucky saved him from in The First Avenger? Damn, shows how much he cares about Tony when compared to Bucky (almost nothing).
What really pisses me off about a lot of the ship that you cover are that if they were straight it’d be canon. I know that if Bucky was a girl their relationship would be famous.
Lets just forget the kiss with Sharon Carter happened (cus gross), theres only two people Steve could have ended up with: Peggy, whom he had a thing with 70 years ago but had sadly passed away recently... and Bucky, whom he had a thing with 70 years ago and was now alive and next to him till the end of the line. And Marvel still managed to pair him with Peggy ¿¿
Not to mention kinda making Steve an asshole for abandoning ALL HIS FRIENDS and sitting back with his new waifu while the world burns =_= Even without him abandoning Bucky it's super fucked up, add that and it's just like.. dude.. romance or not, WTF Steve??
is no one gonna talk about the fact that at 6:01, steve puts his hand on bucky's face for a split second, but then pulls away? i 100% see it as an "i care so much about you and im so happy you're safe and this is how im expressing it, but oh shit we're both men and this isn't okay" moment
"And he drops his shield. Which is the type of thing that he only does for Bucky, it happened in Civil War, too. It seems as if every time he's with Bucky, he drops his shield willingly. That shield is him. That shield is his protection. He's letting down his walls for Bucky." Great metaphore. What's more, I could say that when he willingly drops his shield, he refuses to do what Captain America (a hero) should do and he does what Steve Rogers (a human) wants to do instead.
Before reading the end of your post, I was just going to say Steve Rogers. Bucky is the only person who knows the real Steve Rogers. Bucky also knows the difference between "Captain America" and Steve. I mean, lol, when you grow up with someone you see all the sad and happy moments and all the moments in between. Steve can't hide from Bucky.
Why is he abandoning him? Bucky can basically choose where AND when to live and he still chooses 2023. Sure steve fought for him, for bucky to get his life back. Nowhere ever in the MCU was it shown or hinted that Steve had any romantic feelings towards bucky. He fought for bucky as a best friend so bucky would get his life back. he doesnt have to hang around and babysit him after his job is done.
@@shanonleffler3095 would you leave your best friend that you spent years fighting for alone in a completely new word when they're deeply traumatised and need support? i personally wouldn't, especially not for someone i never even properly dated.
Even the writers said Steve and Sharon are cringy and forced. I mean if Bucky and Steve kissed there would at least be real emotion there between them. I mean, 90% of scenes with Steve and Bucky are wothy of screaming just kiss already. The most interesting thing about the scene with steve and sharon was Bucky trying to get Sam to move his seat up.
I was actually okay with Steve and Peggy. Their relationship started to develop from the moment they talked in the car and Steve admitted that he wasn't good with ladies, and that scene where he talked to old Peggy made me tear up. But Sharon? Nothing against her, but I really hated that kiss between her and Steve. No build-up, no development...nothing except a couple of interactions beforehand. WHY do we need a Forced Heterosexual Romance in every single damn book/show/movie/etc.???
I was okay with Peggy and Steve too. But when it came to him and Sharon kissing, I was just like PLEASE STOP, that feels so wrong! Not even just because there was no build up, no feels, the chemistry feels terrible, but also because she’s Peggy’s niece! It just does not feel okay at all. Bucky and Steve getting together in a romantic way would actually make sense tho, at least I‘d be totally fine with Steve being bisexual. It would just work and not feel that forced and wrong...
The relationship is from the comic so they tried to squeeze it in...possibly in response to the overwhelming romantic chemistry between Steve and Bucky in the movies. It may have worked in the comic, our millage may vary, but it did not work in the movies.
The Infinity War writers revealed that they won't textually confirm Steve/Bucky because half of the people want Steve and Bucky to kiss while the other half want Steve and Sharon to kiss, which is wholly inaccurate since I've seen nothing but disdain from viewers and professional critics alike regarding the Steve/Sharon romance.
There is a slightly important part that you missed from the first movie. When the doctor first meets Steve he asked if he wanted to join the army to go kill some Nazis. Steve responded by telling him he didn't want to kill anyone; he just didn't like bully. After Bucky is presumed dead, Steve says he won't stop until all of Hydra is dead or captured. Totally not platonic. More like revenge for a love one, if you ask me. As for what you were talking about with the shield, also note that he originally picked up the shield for Bucky, to save him, and now keeps dropping the shield for him.
One more thing, it's hard to miss since it's only a few seconds of the shot, but Bucky (presumably still in Winter Solider mode) stays until Steve spits out water and breathes because he needs to make sure he is alive. To me this just means he would have stayed longer, and if need be, I think Bucky would have resucitated him.
ehhhhh....honestly, could still be hella platonic. i have nothing against the ship, but from everything i've seen, it's just a guy protecting his best friend and swearing to avenge him. guys can be close friends and not be gay, same with a boy and a girl being close friends and not being a couple. as for civil war and protecting bucky, going after bucky etc., remember steve thought he was dead. he thought his best friend was gone and knowing he's alive and being falsely accused of crimes, he's willing to go to teh ends of the earth to clear his name and to ensure that bucky could possibly lead a "normal" life again. i feel like a lot of people mistake close friendship for love, and so far there hasn't been any sort of flirting or blatant attraction between them. they're willing to fight for each other cause they're besties, and i'm willing to fight for my besties. that's all it is atm
And not just platonic love, but familial kind of live. I mean the two grew up together, they're practically brothers. Which is why really die-hard Stucky fans (the ones who say there HAS to be romantic feelings) make me uncomfortable. As an aside though, romantic Sharon and Steve is the WORST.
IamIP okay. I’ve seen you replying to nearly every comment I’ve seen on this video. You’re allowed to think what you want, and others are allowed to think what they want. You don’t need to keep going up to every person whose thoughts don’t match your own and try to tear them apart.
@@shutup7768 I second that. Besides, this is a literal video promoting the idea that they could have a great romantic relationship?? Also, Captain America actually is bisexual, so there is no reason for you to say he isn't.
No she doesn't, really. There's a lot of love still there between her and Steve tbh. The actors of the fandom don't mind tho, but Sebastian Stan wants BuckyNat to happen and since Chris Evans only has 1 more movie, it might..edit: neither ships are happening so i was still half right. Lol
Christina Carmiol hayley likes it haha n sebs mostly just joking around just like mackie and as this black widow movie slowly approaches, seb isnt in the movie n its unlikely to happen. nat still has a love thing w bruce (or clint in endgame???) but yh hope marvel does smth for stevebucky...
I have no idea if anyone has pointed this out, but after his mom's funeral, Steve wasn't crying at all. When he was sure he lost Bucky, he cried for hours. HE TRIED TO DRINK AWAY HIS SORROW FOR BUCKY.
Smbdy people actually like Steve/Peggy because their relationship had dynamic and build up just as Steve/Bucky. Fans hate the Steve/Sharon relationship.
One time, I found a Captain America comic book in my local library. Of course, I read it. At the start of it, there was some sort of introduction, or foreword - I don't really know the specific term for it. Anyway, in this introduction it said a line that I will never forget: "Captain America and Bucky Barnes were soulmates." This was a genuine Marvel comic book, and it said that they were soulmates. Case closed.
I'm pretty sure the first Captain America movie was more about Captain America The second movie was about Hydra agents taking over Shield and we don't find out the Winter Soldier is Bucky until the end The third one did have more Bucky but it was focused more on the "Civil War" aspect between Captain America and IronMan
im crying i ship them so much. but really, think about it for one second. if bucky was a girl, they would have been canon in the first movie. i respect everyone who thinks they have a purely brotherly relationship, there's nothing wrong with that, and you're still right. i just think that we already have enough close same-sex friendships in media. the directors and writers have explicitely said that their relationship follows the same beat as a love story, that they're soulmates. the Russo's thoughts on the scene where tony was attempting to kill bucky in CW? "his thought process was 'you love this thing so much? i'm taking it away from you." honestly, i adore seeing their relationship in film, platonic or otherwise, but really. why /shouldn't/ they be romantic? what's the problem with that? they would have the greatest love story, possibly ever. they already do, even if you view it just in a platonic sense. and okay, if even mainstream media is calling you out (TIME, Forbes, Vanity Fair, etc.), you may have a little something there, marvel. #stucky
Ricky M Mainly because straight people are tired of these romantic cliches too Remember how everyone rolled their eyes in annoyance whenever we heard the phrase, "Boys and Girls can't *just* be friends" Yeah, even with canon straight pairings we really don't care
Poor marvel and Disney would get too much controversy if sticky was real. In finding dory there was a lesbian couple for a brief second. And all the fucking soccer mom's got upset and said they didnt want their children to see the movie
Ricky M and the movie would completely BLOW UP if stucky was confirmed. it would be all across the Internet good or bad press who cares everyone will know about it
Same, but the only reason they're not doing it is because most of their money income comes from places like China and we know how much they hate their gays, right? I just want them to make two seperate movies, one that has what would be a stucky romance moment and one brotherly moment (for places like china).
I will never be over how End Game completely retconed Peggy's message to Steve that "none of us can go back and sometimes the best thing to do is start over." Let's just throw all his character progression right out the window because Chris Evans is out of contracts, why not?
Problem with Sharon Steve kiss is NOT that it's a straight kiss, but she is PEGGY'S FAMILY. It would have been weird at the same level if it was Steve and Peggy's nephew. Who tf came up with this and did no one at the whole team feel how weird is it? I don't care about 'build up'. I'm glad it was brief.
Siriuslyfangirl it wasn’t out of character he just finally wanted his dance. Everyone has to be selfish a little bit. This was Steve being selfish. And that’s fine
It also destroys all his character arc. He was a 40s decade man Who got stucked in the future and obviously cant go back. He grows and adapts to his new present, and then throws everything away to go back in time, destroy the life his exgirlfriend created over time, abandons his only best friend (Who also needed him), and gives for fucks sake every single time he saved the world with the avengers in present time. Seriously, Whoever on Earth wrote this, just wanted to bury the character grossly and kill It at the end.
Honest to god that little scene when they’re drinking and Bucky makes his uniform comment and Steve looks at his crotch? Totally sapped any ‘bro’ vibes I was getting.
I'd like to point out the fact that they used It's Been a Long, Long Time in The Winter Soldier when Bucky is introduced when the lyrics clearly include "Kiss me once, kiss me twice, kiss me once again, it's been a long, long time." Fellas, it's gay. (ENDGAME SPOILERS) They also use this in Endgame when Steve and Peggy dance, meaning the song is SUPPOSED to have a romantic context.
@@kittyplayz1480 no they're not. Maybe if u read the comics and watched the movies, you'd know that they're not gay, and they were never together. Marvel won't add it in the future either. (Sorry if that sounded mean. Just saying):3
@@chrissyofwonderland8645 Sorry, but if you do not ship them then you can go? is that the comments are for people who respect the tastes of other people. bye
me when I found my ribbon oof T R U E i was rewatching TWS and when Steve said “because I’m with you till the end of the line” I unconsciously screamed LIAR They BETTER say it in the future
Sam showed us what being just "friends" is like with Steve, Bucky was non of that , there was waayyyy more tension between them that went in all kinds of directions
i read something about why the reunion was so lackluster; apparently they had been skyping the whole time bucky was there, so the reunion wasn’t really a reunion?
Oh my, I don't know how to name my channel The only thing I can think of is that Steve was just so tired of the Avengers & that job that the only way he could get away was to go to a different timeline Also plot-wise they wanted to make Sam captain America so they had to get him out of the way
Bucky got his hair washed, conditioned, brushed, cut, and trimmed his beard in Infinity War when he heard that Steve was in his way. I’m gonna bet he’s at least a little in love with Steve.
What bothers me the most about end game is the fact that peggy had her life, children and happiness. She was able to move forward. It was an insult to cap's arc too, he was supposed to move from the past, to start again. They repeated that like 3 times just to shit over it and send cap back again??? What? Honestly, don't wanna admit it but if it were a male and a female with this kind of history and chemestry, they would be together by now.
actually it was never really showed who was Peggy's husband. So when we get to see old Steve in Endgame's ending, he was married and had already lived a full life and that whole scene cuts to Steve and Peggy dancing which meant that after placing the stones and Mjolnir in their original places, he stays in the 40s and starts living with Peggy. When Sam asks about the wife, he gives a vague answer about her identity but very happy mentioning that she is/was a terrific woman, so we know it could have been none other than Peggy. And Bucky and Steve made conscious decisions about their lives post battle at the avengers compound, which involved Bucky undergoing therapy (coz Steve suggested him to do so, it was all he was doing post snap of thanos) and also to support Sam becoming the next Captain America.
Never thought I'd see a 21 minute video about Stucky. Also messess up The First Avenger for me, because now I see Cap as secretly being gay and wants to join the army for the built soldier guys. Oh lord
I love the idea of Steve crushing on Bucky, then he kinda gets over it but not really but kinda, and it reverses with Buck realizing how Steve felt and starting to develop the same feelings, but now Peggy's there and he just kinda feels like it's not there anymore. (upon rereading yes these sentences make no sense...) I don't mind Carter that much, and I actually really loved her as Captain Carter in What if, but I felt so so bad when (spoiler) Steve went back in time to live his life with her in Endgame. I felt like he really abandonned Bucky. Even if they were onlyfriendsTM, it felt like such a betrayal. He left him after suffering so much to get each other back.
HE LEFT HIS BOY. also, it literally says peggy got married in the winter soldier??? steve saw the video in the museum, what a selfish dork. its like right in the middle of endgame they changed steves writers
@@SourSweets8217 Right ? How could he leave Bucky, for whom he did EVERYTHING ? He turned his back on his only family for him in Civil War, he left the shield, he was ready to do everything for him. And he felt so alone as a 100 y/o in a new society, he couldn't have left Bucky to live trough that too. It's really messed up. It's like they changed his whole personality/motives/arc in a second, with no warning or satisfying excuse. Whiplash.
anthony and joe russo have now confirmed that steve has been visiting bucky in wakanda and that they've been skyping lolol @ russo brothers make it canon you cowards
YASSSSSS....also i read somewhere that shuri set it up and never told Bucky and Bucky thought it was a picture so he squeaked out “i love you” and then went super pale when he saw Steve move😂
Whether they are gay or not, there’s no question that they would do just about anything for each other. Like, Steve disobeys orders to go and rescue Bucky in the first movie, literally bets his life on Bucky recognizing him in the second (by dropping his shield and barely even fighting back after they’ve managed to take down the helicarriers), and loses his friend (Tony), becomes a fugitive from the law, and goes into hiding to protect Bucky in the third. And Bucky breaks free of 70 years of HYDRA’s brainwashing after hearing just a few meaningful words from Steve. I don’t know if they’re actually gay, but it really isn’t the most outrageous claim I’ve ever heard. Plus, Bucky plays a big role in Steve’s storyline in all three of his movies (especially TWS and CW).
Then again I myself was raised believing that dying for your best friend and wishing to get married along with them, to then ditch your husbands and adopt three cats together was a normal for friends, soo... yeah.
I did not remember he said that "Even when I had nothing I had bucky". *tears*. Okay, I think Steve loves Bucky and vice-versa. And fine, if Marvel and Disney don't want to see that this is real love. Fine! But Sharon Carter? really? Peggy's niece?? That is wrong on so many levels. It was weird to see, it was cringe-worthy. If they really wanted Steve to have a relationship with a woman, the Black Widow!! There was chemistry there.
can we just ignore endgame or smth like ummm steve: im with you till the end of the line bucky: aw wow dude also theres something i need to tell you uhh im in love with yo- steve: *makes alternate timeline with peggy* bucky:
literally the Steve x Sharon kiss was the worst thing to happen in the mcu, I'm not a huge stucky fan (at least not before I watched this video) but it was just the worst. they had absolutely no chemistry or connection, what was the point? also his ex's niece? WEIRD!! nice one marvel
Haha, pReAcH! I, personally, ship Stucky, but I also loved that Peggy and Steve had a build up to their relationship. ( I also kinda ship them together too) And, I almost never tell someone they shouldn't ship characters together, (unless it is abusive and toxic in cannon or abusive and toxic in headcannon and they refuse to see it that way,) but sHaRon and sTeVe? How it built up was atrocious and way out of the blue. /Marvel. *Please* learn how to write romance and relationships./
news.marvel.com/comics/55495/black-widow-star-crossed/ Unfortunately they're discussing the relationship between Bucky and Natasha, but if you scroll down a bit it shows Mark Waid, the writer of the Black Widow comic, saying that both Bucky and Nat had a crush on Steve
*about endgame...* Bucky obviously knew Steve was going back to live in the past...that makes it better how exactly? If anything the fact he was still selfless is worse - he was 100% heartbroken and damn well deserved better. I love Peggy but having Steve mourn and pine over her *the entire movie* instead of Bucky came out of fucking nowhere tbh. Russos wtf happened?!?
Dark Humour Seriously! They devolved his character so that they could get the "aawww" feelings of Steve finally getting together with Peggy and getting the dance he missed at the end of his first movie... completely missing all his character development over the years in the movies after that. I get that "he was tired" and "wanted to rest and be selfish for once" but this was not the way to do it. It made a lot of his earlier dialogue and actions obsolete and almost disingenuous. And okay this is picky, but not to mention he only knew Peggy for like at most a year? He knew Wanda and Vision at least three times longer than he knew Peggy. She had a whole life without him and then died only a few years after he was thawed from the ice. Natasha was already trying to set him up on dates before old!Peggy died. Steve was half making eyes at Peggy's NIECE at Peggy's FUNERAL. (This is more the screen writer's fault but shh.) By the time of her funeral he'd spent more time in the future than he had participating in the war, ie longer than he knew Peggy. Now as this video pointed out most of things Steve has done has been for Bucky: the reason he became the Captain America he was now is because he went awol to rescue Bucky (not even the rest of the 107th, they were just a bonus); Cap2 was half about stopping Hydra and half about rescuing a mind controlled Bucky using simply the power of recognition and friendship ("friendship" lol); Civil War was half about fighting about the Accords and half about helping and protecting Bucky, even to the point of losing other friendships and the symbol of Steve's hero ship. Then the snap happened and it's five years later - 2023. Steve has been in the future for 12 years, old!Peggy's funeral was held 7 years ago at this point. About a third of Steve's life has been as Captain America and in the future. He experienced so much, knew so many different people from all over (even other planets), gained so many friendships, acquired so much knowledge and broadened his mind in ways he never would have dreamed of in the 1940s... and the writers threw all that character development out the window for a Steggy callback? Seriously? One that's made even worse for me because Steve meets back up with 70s!Peggy: even though he's been through some serous shit she's now got 20 years on him. She's spent thirty years of her life moving on and doing stuff after he crashed into the ice... only to have a future version come barreling back after spending over a decade there going through Thanos' shit. Like, they're both not the same people they used to be in 1944/45. By this point I don't think it's even love but more of an obsession. They don't even truly know each other anymore, just the general broad strokes. (Like there are many things about me that are the same from 10 years ago but there are also many things that are different, such as realising that I'm a lesbian. There are some things that are fundamentally different about me now than a decade ago, like I forgive a lot less easily now.) Steve and Peggy both wish they could have gotten together in the 40s and so now they do because they have to try it. The writers fucked over Steve's character because they needed to get rid of him without killing him (I don't think they wanted to kill half of the original six Avengers in one movie?) and they needed to go it in a "happy" way... cue Peggy, Steggy, and the dance they never got because it's a movie filled with wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff and that's an out on a silver platter. PS, I do actually like Peggy and Steggy (it's obviously one of the top 3 hetero couples of the MCU) I just think this was a shit way to end Steve's arc and was disrespectful, to both of them and Bucky. (Bucky deserves better damnit!) In the words of the great and wise Ian Malcom, "[Steggy] had their shot and nature selected them for extinction... your [writers] were too busy thinking whether or not they could they didn't stop to think if they should."
Also, it just doesn't make sense that he would just hop out of this timeline right when half of the original Avengers just got out of commission. I get it that they think things are probably going to be OK for the next couple years (which I have no clue why would they think that as they just messed with the space-time continuum), but overall it seems terribly irresponsible and very out of character to just leave it to the other heroes to deal with all the issues after most of them were essentially dead for 5 years.
I also think Bucky should have been captain America. He's another super soldier with similar abilities. Sam doesn't fight with physical strength. Making the guy who uses drones and wings (I do love falcon though), the soldier who uses a shield like a boomerang just doesn't make sense. The mantle just makes more sense for Bucky in my opinion. Sam is already the Falcon. Bucky still has to be the Winter solider? A mantle that represents being a brainwashed terrorist? Why would he keep the name?
This ship was the first fanfiction I ever read, and it brought me my first ever girlfriend. We met at a costume party, she as Cap, me as Bucky... it was meant to be... it's just too real :D
We live in a world where had Bucky been a woman, people would be lauding Steve as this romantic hero; defying all odds to protect the woman he loves and the woman whose life experiences he shares. But because Bucky is a man, he's automatically dismissed as a potential love interest to Captain America simply because our society can't fathom the idea that two men could ever share such a profound and intense romantic love for each other.
Exactly, if Bucky was a woman and Steve was still a man or if Steve was a woman and Bucky was still a man, more people would be saying that they were meant to be together instead of saying that they are just friends. Why is it that when someone brings up that they ship Stucky, someone says that you can't because they are just friends, it is getting pretty tiring.
Yes, and there are always tons of unnecessary and not convincing demonstrations of hetero relationship, like Steve and Sharon. Now imagine if something like that happens with a same sex couple. It's 21th century already, Marvel/Hollywood should start turning off this "censorship".
Maybe, but why can't we honestly just have two men with an intense love that isn't romantic? Sometimes this is neat to see but wishing it on every pair of best friends who fight together in movies is just silly. Like Chibs and Jax from sons of anarchy, chibs loved Jax and would have done anything for him, but he didn't want to bed him. I'm just saying I haven't seen anything in these movies that makes me believe that they are IN love. To me, a true bond that doesn't involve any romance is more powerful because there is a stronger sense of loyalty. It is a love that transcends common understanding, a love that says "I will go to hell with you, and pull you out with me"
DEADEND165 "go to hell with you, and pull you out with me" is that a Destiel reference? Also on the asexual side of my life I'm okay with this. On the other hand it's like can't we have this for M/F friendships. Like the amount of society shipping that happens with M & F pairs is so exhausting & uncomfortable. So while my gender non-conforming ideals want this to possibly happen with M/M & F/F relationships too, my values of consent make me think like that needs to stop regardless of gendering because it's disrespectful to people in real life. However, in stories where relationship evolution is the plotline I'd prefer destroying double standards. Meaning M & F can be friends, M/M & F/F can be lovers. I'd also like partners to be diversified beyond sexuality & possibly healthy polyamory representation. (Meaning like Stucky & some woman depending on the era.) So basically if we have a romance plotline I'd prefer Steve with Bucky or Peggy because they have more history & stuff than just Sharon because of sex I'd be okay with Sharon/Steve if it was presented as just aromantic. I'd also prefer Sharon have more character development before I ship her with someone. I like the actress who plays her, so I would like her character to get developed further, but I need that before I ship her with anyone, and it'd be disappointing if she's only significantly defined as like "with this man". Thanks, Peace & Love
Did anyone notice the lyrics of the song Howling Commandos were singing when Stucky and peggy were together in cap 1 movie? "He left me for a damsel dark, damsel dark,"
You missed the scene, in the civil war where Bucky tries to escape with the helicopter and Steve is holding it with his bare hands and our boy bucky is so shameless checking his Buffy arms out and smirking. That was very gay! The whole thing reminds me of stormpilot in star wars, Finn and Poe had some spark in the first move but in the second they put rose with him without much development.
@@kevinfrancisco11 I haven't seen the movie but thanks to Tumblr I know what happened and welp, I'm disappointed as well. Stucky deserved to be endgame :(
When you look at the Captain America trilogy AS A WHOLE, the entire plot is driven by Steve and Bucky's relationship, every single time, in all three movies. Their relationship is even driving force of the MCU as a whole, and then Endgame had to come along and shred it all to pieces, destroying Steve's development (and Peggy's too, but that's a different rant) all for a lazy heterosexual romance.

So Bucky is the first and only person Steve has stopped fighting/ surrendered to while fighting

Why is he abandoning him? Bucky can basically choose where AND when to live and he still chooses 2023. Sure steve fought for him, for bucky to get his life back.
I KEEP asking that queation
I feel as though Marvels only reason for the kiss between Steve and Sharon was because she's Peggy's niece. That's kinda messed up
I was okay with Peggy and Steve too.
"he is confused so he punches him in the face out of sexual frustration"
Big mood right there
There is a slightly important part that you missed from the first movie.
Don’t forget the trouble cap goes through to protect Bucky in civil war
ehhhhh....honestly, could still be hella platonic. i have nothing against the ship, but from everything i've seen, it's just a guy protecting his best friend and swearing to avenge him. guys can be close friends and not be gay, same with a boy and a girl being close friends and not being a couple. as for civil war and protecting bucky, going after bucky etc., remember steve thought he was dead. he thought his best friend was gone and knowing he's alive and being falsely accused of crimes, he's willing to go to teh ends of the earth to clear his name and to ensure that bucky could possibly lead a "normal" life again. i feel like a lot of people mistake close friendship for love, and so far there hasn't been any sort of flirting or blatant attraction between them. they're willing to fight for each other cause they're besties, and i'm willing to fight for my besties. that's all it is atm
Reminds me of Achilles and Patroclus tbh
And not just platonic love, but familial kind of live. I mean the two grew up together, they're practically brothers. Which is why really die-hard Stucky fans (the ones who say there HAS to be romantic feelings) make me uncomfortable.

I just want them to make two seperate movies, one that has what would be a stucky romance moment and one brotherly moment (for places like china).
I will never be over how End Game completely retconed Peggy's message to Steve that "none of us can go back and sometimes the best thing to do is start over." Let's just throw all his character progression right out the window because Chris Evans is out of contracts, why not?
i will never move on. im so mad it makes no sense

That's from the comics, Peggy was never a major character until the movies. In the comics you know Sharon more then you ever know about Peggy

It also destroys all his character arc. He was a 40s decade man Who got stucked in the future and obviously cant go back.

Dav so we call fucking "skyping" now?
I knew the shield was an allegory..he was literally always dropping it for Bucky
Dolly Oliver "shield" = "pants"
+Rommism on the contrary, the problem here is that he _didn't_ drop his pants for Bucky.
Dolly Oliver - When he said he dropped his shield, his protection, my mind went to the gutter and condoms. LOL!

Unfortunately they're discussing the relationship between Bucky and Natasha, but if you scroll down a bit it shows Mark Waid, the writer of the Black Widow comic, saying that both Bucky and Nat had a crush on Steve
*about endgame...*
Bucky obviously knew Steve was going back to live in the past...that makes it better how exactly? If anything the fact he was still selfless is worse - he was 100% heartbroken and damn well deserved better. I love Peggy but having Steve mourn and pine over her *the entire movie* instead of Bucky came out of fucking nowhere tbh. Russos wtf happened?!?
Dark Humour
Seriously!
Except the people wrote most of steves character, so it seems like you were just projecting.
@@dawnmayflower4422 I love your comment so much
Also, it just doesn't make sense that he would just hop out of this timeline right when half of the original Avengers just got out of commission.
Wow, that's so cool!! 😄
Bro end game had me like “THERE IS A PERFECT BUCKY RIGHT THERE”
We live in a world where had Bucky been a woman, people would be lauding Steve as this romantic hero; defying all odds to protect the woman he loves and the woman whose life experiences he shares.
But because Bucky is a man, he's automatically dismissed as a potential love interest to Captain America simply because our society can't fathom the idea that two men could ever share such a profound and intense romantic love for each other.
Hephaestion Amyntoros gosh I've been saying these for ages
(Meaning like Stucky & some woman depending on the era.)
So basically if we have a romance plotline I'd prefer Steve with Bucky or Peggy because they have more history & stuff than just Sharon because of sex
I'd be okay with Sharon/Steve if it was presented as just aromantic. I'd also prefer Sharon have more character development before I ship her with someone. I like the actress who plays her, so I would like her character to get developed further, but I need that before I ship her with anyone, and it'd be disappointing if she's only significantly defined as like "with this man".
Thanks, Peace & Love
"They'd rather make Steve Rogers a goddamn nazi than bisexual" i laughed so hard at this because its sooo true
Did anyone notice the lyrics of the song Howling Commandos were singing when Stucky and peggy were together in cap 1 movie?

@@Chalk.... Let people ship, damn. Always gotta have that one person who's butting into people's enjoyments.
