Hey just finished watch this video and I also watched is poe and Finn gay and I couldn't help but notice on that video you kept saying forced while showing Anakin and padme, so my question is this are you calling it forced cuz you are secretly shipping Anakin with Obi-Wan or something else. Cuz for me I know in the legend the novels of Star Wars that it explains Anakin and padme's love more clearly however in the prequels movie I will admit is kind of shocking for a teenage girl to fall in love with a nine-year-old boy. So are you going to make a video of Anakin and Obi-Wan: are they gay? I'll be very interested in checking it out, cause I go on wattpad to read Anakin x Obi-Wan.

I understand that you’re coming from a good place, and yes, male friendship is good representation. So although i also agree and think its important to represent all relationships equally, i would say that there are many movies and shows that do show two males in a close non-romantic bond, as the 'why cant two guys just be friends' arguement is an arguement i see very often when people discuss the many m/m relationships in media (not saying you've used the arguement obviously, im just mentioning it as it is a point brought up often to shoot down people headcanoning m/m relationships as gay). So while I agree that romance is oversaturated in media and much outweighs good representations of friendships, i think it is much more applicable in heterosexual relationships - as the examples of two women or two men being in close 'non-romantic' friendships much outweigh the number of actually canon lesbian/gay couples in media. This is pretty close to what Official Mouse said but I thought I'd also chime in.

Third, they are FICTIONAL CHARACTERS, they don't exist, we can ship them with whoever we want, whether its with the same sex or different. It's our wish and our opinion. You don't have to hate or try to bash anyone because of it.

I didn’t expect Sam or Bucky to end up together and I certainly don’t ship Sambucky but even I saw the homoerotic subtext and was like “people are gonna be mad” and I was kinda upset too. With as much energy they put into thoughtful storytelling about racial identity, you would think they would know better than to queerbait.
I’m all for shows giving straight guys a friendship that isn’t insecure about their sexuality - I actually want more of it because god knows that I’ve had it with the toxic masculinity. But I think they did Sam and Bucky all wrong and it’s a huge example of why we need more queer representation in Marvel. We’re left shipping the canonically straight MCU characters that have homoerotic subtext in their writing. What did they expect us to do when they sent them to fucking couples therapy?

@@Thed538dhsk You know, I don’t get your need to have Bucky be hetero and Sam be gay. Because according to your way of thinking there’s honestly nothing showing Sam being fundamentally gay - just because his previous military partner was Riley and his death hurt Sam that apparently makes him gay? Just because he hasn’t had a (female, of course) love interest that makes him gay?
In universe, Bucky has probably only flirted with women because he was born in 1917. Real world, Disney just doesn’t want to lose the money and dealings it has with countries that don’t support LGBT+ and money from homophobic people/households in America. That’s a lot of revenue gone and bridges burned in business for something many of them don’t really give a shit about anyway. That’s why they had Steve act out of character in Endgame and go back to Peggy. Evans’ contract was up and they were not going to have Steve “Captain America” Rogers be a queer no sir. Obligatory het romance that makes no sense coming right up.
Bucky has been coded as Bi for years now and Sam has had his own moments since his introduction (literal meet cute with Steve lol), and then they were smooshed together with very obvious romance tropes being used throughout the show. I don’t get your aversion to seeing both of them as queer just because Bucky flirts with girls. You’re being deliberately obtuse in regards to the character, the age he grew up in and how he was literally repressed for 70 years and how Hollywood works - they only care about money and it’s full of homophobes and homophobic opinions due to the Hays Code.

@@Thed538dhsk In regards to the MCU the comics don’t matter - it’s an adaptation. Things have changed from the original material and that can be okay. Thor and Loki are brothers, Hela is not Loki’s daughter. Steve and Bucky are the same age (Bucky is older) and are childhood friends, they made the decision to keep Steve’s origin story in the 40s but brought him into the present to fit with everyone else. Tony wasn’t captured in Afghanistan in 2008 in the comics but they modernized it for the movie.
MCU Bucky is a amalgamation of comic book Bucky Barnes and comic book Arnie Roth… a character that was gay. In fact his backstory of being Steve’s best friend, being bigger and stronger than Steve, protecting him from bullies is Roth’s backstory. So MCU Bucky being Bi would actually make sense if he’s a combination of Roth, Steve’s gay childhood friend, and Barnes/The Winter Soldier, Steve’s straight sidekick. It totally evens out lol. Just using the comics as a basis.

I am honestly so, so tired of the constant queerbaiting in all Disney productions - is it too much to ask for a hero:ine with their own story arc (that has nothing to do with the struggle of being gay (I'm also really tired of that trope)) who save the world together with their beloved person (I also accept and love enemies to lovers) and happens to be LGBT+?
I just want one high production sci fi/ fantasy/ action movie with a queer main character who is not only coded, but *shown* and *acknowledged* to be queer. Deadpool is a great start, but it would be even better if he had a male love interest at some part - for that it can be made canon and his pansexuality is not only present in jokes.
And no, I don't accept any movies like Raya, where all the clues are there, quite obviously, but is only gay in subcontext, out of fear that confirming might lead to dropping views in certain countries. Stop being cowards.

@@Lisa_Flowers I get where you're going with this but let me say, Sam being Bucky's mental health support is NOT A GOOD THING. Sam is not a therapist and is certainly not Bucky's therapist. This is a callout for the Bucky stans in general, stop making Sam the good "bro" if we want to ship them, one character shouldn't be always in the position of being the other's "emotional support" and especially not the black character. Sam has enough trauma of his own to deal with he doesn't need Bucky's on top of that. Sorry this isn't directed to you specifically but we really have to stop this idea that Sam is support for the white characters, the man is CAPTAIN AMERICA.

This video should have been titled Stucky 2.0, he barely mentioned Sam and when he did deign to do so it was only to twist his arc about being a black man taking on the Captain America mantle into a statement about queerbaiting/homophobia. Not to say the show doesn't have that, but those scenes were about race and the effect it would have on a hero like Sam and he just completely discarded that and its importance. In fact, he just discarded Sam entirely to talk about everyone's white favourites for the 1000th time 🙄

I swear I got Destiel "ptsd" flashbacks from this show. Like don't get me wrong I love it way more than it probably deserves but some episodes in I texted my friend that at that point I wouldn't be suprised if the show ended with one of them making confessions and then immediately dieing... After episode five I told them that this was actually worse. At least Destiel was so far out of reach you felt like you knew you were just looking for breadcrumbs. With this show it's not even subtext you have to look for. If either of the two (probably Sam if I had to pick) had been a woman we had absolutely gotten a kiss at the end. Like the whole meeting the family and fixing the boat thing and then playing with the children and looking into the sunset at the end literally looks like a romcom. Shame marvel has no spine cause this would actually be fantastic representation wise.

    • @Thed538dhsk

      1) I don’t think so. Clint and Nat never were romantically involved and seemed to be a positive representation of a female/male friendship. To me it reminded me more of Forest Gump.
      2) What do you mean they have no spine? If the characters aren’t 🏳️‍🌈 in the comics they won’t be in the mcu period. Sam and Bucky aren’t 🏳️‍🌈 in the comics I think. I’m not too familiar with comic book sam being more of a Spidey fan than cap in the comics. Once a 🏳️‍🌈 marvel character is on screen then look for representation because it’d make no sense from the source material to have heterosexual characters be 🏳️‍🌈🤷🏾‍♂️
