I'm an Apple engineer on the MacOS team, 4:00 this is not necessary, your Macbook is already designed to manage battery health. It is recommended that you do not install 3rd party apps as it might interfere with the solutions we've already built into the OS.
Why would limiting how much % my battery gets charged be a bad thing, compared to what apple programed? Also, what does apple program to preserve battery life and what is the difference? To my knowledge, my mac charges my battery up to 80%, then it will predict when I will use my laptop next and charge it up to 100% when that time is close. Is that correct? If yes, I think this is good, but i'd also like to manually control my battery to be only charged up to 80%. I'd love to hear your reply as a macos engineer!

There is no real harm in keeping your MacBook Pro connected to the charger when it's just sitting on your desk. Just use and enjoy your Mac as intended. Don't babysit it.

The finder rename function is exactly like the app. Multiple select files, right click, choose rename and voilà. To get the date on the menu bar just go to settings. Mac OS already manages the battery charging. Most of those apps are for, sorry to say, pple that doesn’t know how to use macOS.
How did you get that arrow on the top menu bar which collapses the running apps? Looks really clean. Plus I hate how the notch cuts off the icons for running apps.

Thanks for the video! especially for the xnip and aldente. any free app recommendation for simulating middle click/three-finger click on macbook trackpad to open new tab for instance. recently switching from windows and thats the only feature I desperately need and miss form windows.
Yes! As they have built in menu bar date, heic to jpg, pdf merging and bulk renaming… Zs are getting dumber. If a function requires minimum thinking or if it’s not flashing in front of them they won’t find it.
This is great but Macs have had built in file conversion for a bit, you just right click file, go to quick actions and you can convert heir to job or whatever built into the OS. I'm trying som of these other suggestions. Thanks!

Very much appreciated this video and went to try out some of the apps. Several of them are not actually free. They either have free trials or are significantly hampered without paying. (A watermark on a screenshot app? What?) Hazeover doesn't even have a trial - it's just $5.

MacOS has build in feature for image and HEIC conversion. Right click - Quick Actions - Convert Image
For Auto File Namer, if you select multiple files in Finder, you can already rename all of them at once...
MacOS has the ability to convert images to JPEG or PNG directly, you just need to right click > Quick action > Convert image

Excellent compliation of useful apps. For HEIC converter why an app required when native apple rightclick gives an option of Quick Convert?
There is no need for an HEIC converter. If you drag your photos from the Photos app to the desktop, they will automatically convert to JPEG.
