What I like about Dagan's reviews is that he's not afraid to go balls deep and turn up the gain. There were about 20 different reviews for the new yamaha's dropped on the same day. All of them were people playing super clean chimey tones. Dagan is like, fuck it, if we want to see what it can do lets turn it up to 11!
Rupert Neve died in 2021. Although this collaboration with Yamaha and the Neve company pre-dates this, there is a video from Yamaha giving the backstory and how it is based on the work of an employee of Neve's who was working on pickups on his own time.
My first Yamhaha was the RD350 Lc in '82, then '84 RZ 350, & current '85 RZ 500 LC since '84. 1st guitar Yamaha Pacifica, then Revstar Standard. ...need one of the Standard plus now! Great products!
Looking at the cost of the hardware used and with the stainless frets which I haven't seen on a guitar in this price range, these seem like really good value.
Just bought it as a first electric guitar for my daughter. I replaced stock strings with new 009 set. May be overkill, but guitar plays nice and pickups are out of this World.
I've always had my eyes on the Pacifica. Great upgrades and glad their still in the game. I'll be going online to get all details, hopefully they didn't shun us lefties ✌️
Tonally it sounds a lil' similar to 112VM, maybe it has differences on Build quality, hardwares, wood quality, electronics, playability, and ofc, PRICE!!!😂
for 2000 I take a Strandberg Boden NX6 over any day or a ormsby or a caparison or FGN ,Yahaha is dreaming and price will drop very fast the next month...
Yamaha started making musical instruments in the late 1800s, and only branched out in motor bikes in the 1950s, a decade after their first guitar (IIRC) :)
If you are familiar with the Revstar line it makes perfect sense. It also implies that eventually the 611/612 will be named the Standard (no plus) and that we'll see a Revstar Standard+ that sits between the current Revstar Standard and the Revstar Pro. In the future, think before commenting please.
You can’t go wrong with a Yamaha Grand Piano, Motorcycle, acoustic or electric guitar.
You also forgot outboard motor!
and Drums!
and Basses!
and Boats!
(honestly it's easier to name things they DON'T do 😂)
Their digital pianos are great too.
Also lexus LFAs engine is built bu yamaha
Also Hatsune Miku is made by Yamaha

Does it chug is always the question
Balls deep. Shaft all in

It’s interesting how they moved the truss rod adjustment to increase the mass of the headstock. Such great tone from these!
Thanks Dagan. These are some of the best guitars in this range.
Buying these over a fender players strat is a no brainer. Specs are insane

How does it compare to an Ibanez AZ for feel and sound?
Love the new shape
Shell pink maple good
It looks so good

Guitar of the year…
The clean sounds are amazing, great spank sound as well great playing as always
Would you recommend this as a first electric for someone who knoes the basics, or is it too much guitar for now?

Yamaha Pacifica's, awesome guitars, punching well above their weight irrespective as to which one in the range you get!
I hear a lefty model calling my name! Thanks for the video!

Nice
love my revstar
Me too, still at 8 lbs it's a bit on the heavy side. I prefer a lighter guitar 6.9 lbs to 7.3-7.8 lbs. This Pacifica fits the bill, I want one.
man this thing is sick
Anyone A/B these necks vs. the older PAC612 series?
PAC612 has Seymour Duncan pickups. They sound a bit different. I guess it is a matter of personal preference.

It’s way lower than $2000.
$1500😅
I like Yamaha but it kinda throws me off that they also make bikes and other stuff like that
But I think that's what makes them awesome, and in any case, they started out with musical instruments, hence their logo - three tuning forks.

@@JacobMoen your right and I have tried a bunch of Yamahas and they are all really good. I’m not saying that are bad guitars.
I have a Mk1 XSR900
They are separate companies lol
What the hell is "Standard Plus"? Is it Standard or is it Plus? Marketing BS at its finest.
It’s a name that differentiates this from the “Professional” line(Yes! Another name). Just a name. Nothing to get upset about.

Where's the standard?
@@maJastoL 612
@@bostonbesteats364Revstar with two Rupert Neve humbuckers would be awesome.
