Yeah, for my part when I got mine, I smiled after the first G-chord... This is probably the best song writing or guitar learning tool! This is amazing from someone who actually got one at the moment!
Ii will order one of these to my countryhouse, image sitting on the patio and looking out to the sea in the summer breeze and having one of these guitars... It will be a good tune and that is what we are all after! Will buy it, no questions asked! Dagan , you convinced me!
Nice review. But one of the best features you didn't mention. The dot touch thing on the cutaway. Can be setup to be the loop stop. So instead of having to press the button on top on the 1, to set the end of your phrase, you can tap the dot. Much easier to get the timing right.
My LL-TA is an incredible guitar, with or without the TA features. Everyone that picks it up is in love. And that's before I even turn on the effects haha! I may have to treat myself to another....
Love my LL-TA too. Looking forward to playing one of these. I'm interested in how good it sounds on its own, I don't think it has the A.R.E. top, wonder if the sound will be as good? Or will it be more like fg/fs range? It does have solid back and sides tho
I've played these at GC, and you have to spend twice as much on a Taylor or Martin to find one that's as nice to play. That's before you account for the effects.
I love the idea of this guitar. I owned a Hyvibe a couple years ago that I ended up returning because it had bugs in it, and plugged in sounded terrible. I like Yamahas, I had a 12 string I played for years and it was great! But for me right now this tag3c is a lot of money, and the one thing that bothers me about all the reviews I’ve seen is no one has plugged it into an amp or pa. My main reason for buying this would be to play it live plugged in. So until I see some reviews with it plugged in, and hear how it sounds, or they have it available at a music store in my area to demo. I won’t be rushing out to buy it. Sounds great unplugged, but I have a couple acoustics that sound great unplugged, but sound terrible when plugged in.
I have a FG5X on my wishlist with some gear. Now I just think about „just“ getting this guitar. This looks like a dream guitar for me. Just need for the release here! 😂 The built in looping function looks awesome! That sold it to me! I like that the loop can be stopped with the touch pad on top of the guitar.
Thanks Dagan - Always the best guitar demo's on RUclips- I have one the original transacoustic guitars & it's always the acoustic guitar I grab even though I have more expensive options - 200% getting this TAG3-C - One problem - what finish ? Both amazing!

I have 2 Yamaha acoustic guitars. One is the first guitar I owned and was bought by my mother for me. It’s a FG-160, 1971 model I think. My parents friends who played music every weekend called it a “poor man’s Martin”. Awesome guitar. My other is an acoustic electric cutaway that I bought 5 or 6 years ago. Can’t remember the model but it sounds and plays great. Needless to say, I’m a big fan of Yamaha.
I'm holding my Yamaha FG-TA right now, and I can't stop smiling after hearing 3:30 😆❤.... Can't afford this TAG3 but I like to imagine mine is just as luxurious😂.
I like everything about it except the rechargeable battery. It’s convenient until 10 years from now when it no longer holds a charge and you can’t find a replacement.
It wouldn't surprise me if it was just a pack made from a couple of 18350 cells or something as pretty much everything else is these days if it doesn't have to fit inside a compact device. I suppose the absolute worst case is that you can't find a replacement and in a decade or so you're left with a superb sounding all solid wood acoustic, so not the worst thing that can happen!
The designer of the guitar said they needed the extra power from the rechargeable battery in order to improve the actuator performance compared to the older model.
It should be a few 21700s that can be swapped in the middle of a show. The flashlight community has so many examples of this being effective for high power consumption devices.
A question please. Does it actually amplifies as well?? I ask this because I’m 50% deaf and I need an amp to amplify my acoustic guitar to hear it properly. This would be a great solution if it did.
@@nelisv7218with the effects turned on you can hear a volume level difference in the video against when he switches it off, and he says it has speakers in the guitar body. How much extra volume it might produce is not clear, you could maybe ask the question to Yamaha .. or better still wait until these are in the shops and go try one to see. Otherwise as Ethan says it has an output jack so you can also plug it into an amplifier but having everything built in for convenience is really its strong selling point.
Yes, this guitar sound great. But at the same time - it's very impractical: in studio session - all inbuild effects (echo, delay, chorus) can be made by studio tools with much better quality. You can't use this guitar in pub, or club gigs because of acoustic feedback. Maybe it is possible to use this instrument in small and very quiet premises, i.e. at home. But to buy guitar by 1700 Euros for home purpose only - IMHO delusional.
Big problem with this guitar - what happens when you lose the bespoke charging cable (future expense)? Why haven't you used USB C for the cable so its easy to charge? The Battery that comes with it built in so you cant replace yourself, what happens when that fails (more cost)? but more importantly if you've got a gig planned and it hasn't charged you cant replace the batteries like with the original TA guitars. Great idea for a guitar but with stupid electrical implementation.
Shame Yamaha. No left hand model again. The best guitar I have ever owned is a Yamaha FG1200J - bought new right hand 1978 I replaced the bridge to make it a lefty, play it every day - sounds better than any Martin.
Yes, they sound a lot better when used with restraint. I have the original LS-TA, and the thing is that you, as the player, don’t notice the effect as much, as when you listen to someone else play it, so you tend to turn them up a bit too much. That’s my personal experience at least.
It sounds ok, a bit too tinny and jangly, no real warmth or character, just a clinical typical Japanese acoustic sound. I'll stick to my Lowden thanks.
The key is to use the effects with restraint. I have the LS-TA, and the effects on that one sound very natural. I haven’t heard this one in person, but I would imagine it’s even better.
If that’s true then Taylors need a lot of bells and whistles. Taylors far from making the best sounding guitars. Only good guitars Taylor can compete with is their small guitars. Big baby taylors and such.
@@sircusboy351 i respectfully disagree my Taylor 214-ce just keeps getting better with age,had it for 10+ years now and the top is already starting to naturally torrify and the guitar sounds way better and more articulate and has a better tone than the day when I first got it, and it’s not even one of their American made ones and I would put it up against any Martin or Gibson acoustic out there

They are very beautiful though and work for some people. i only recommend them as live guitars.
I have the LL-TA, the 1st gen transacoustic. I bought it looking for a taylor/martin, wishing for a gibson. Never thought of Yamaha, but the guy at the shop suggested it to me, and I was blown away by the feel and sound for the price, and that was without the effects. They are super guitars. Solid spruce, with rosewood back and sides, the equivalent taylor would be the 400 series setting you back 3k. Will be interested to see if these are as high quality, it looks like they have sacrificed a few features for the extra tech. The LL-TA has a torrified top, chamfered binding on the neck and maple binding on the body.
What a joke! The technology inside will be obsolete in 3 years. A guitar should last for decades. Not this one. It will be unsaleable on the used market in 5 years.

The touchpad also stops the loop recording so you don’t need to reach all the way on top to finish your foundation loop.
