@@colinbutler5676 You're entitled to your opinion, but this isn't a "gimmick". It's the first acoustic guitar with all these built in features. I can use the sound effects and the looper to practice without having to use a pedal, cables, or amp. Yes, I already have those things, and I rarely use them because getting everything set up in the spot where I normally play is a real PIA. I can take just the guitar with me to friend's house, my favorite park, another room in the house, anywhere I choose---and be able to do a lot more than I can with a regular acoustic guitar.
Yamaha is inciting violence, and I don’t feel safe. 😏 I have owned my LS-TA Trans-acoustic since 2019, and I still love it. This looks cool. I’ve tried the LAG version, and I hated it. I bet Yamaha kills it with this one.
I just got my natural TAG3C today. I am shocked how good a guitar it is. Flawless construction and tone dang close to a $4000 FG9 I tried out. The effects are top notch, no need for anything external. I just need to get it setup from my luthier. I prefer butter close action. Out of box is probably fine for most people.
Awesome delay and backing tracks was my wish for the older models yamaha listened Now to get this in the fs9 and classical with a foot switch control pedal. and a diferent version built for revstsrs and Pacifica electric guitars one for classical and with a pedal.

Super cool. Love guitar innovation and love Yamaha acoustics. This level of new innovation intimidates me. I'm the guy who needs individual pedals verses navigating through a single multi-effects pedal display for everything. But, I do acknowledge its simply a matter of acclimation and acceptance. My only concern with this level built-in technology would be there is potentially more to break and require support. Does this require an authorized shop to service or can the owner obtain parts and do it themselves?
Ok, so I'm a straight up beginner, still learning progressions. I am confident I will continue with my pursuit to learn to play. I am 60 and can afford this guitar but not sure in reality how practical it will be for me. Would it be possible to integrate online lessons with the Bluetooth feature? Other than the price... is there any reason a beginner shouldn't purchase this Yamaha? Again, right now, most of the cool features are useless to me. But maybe??? Just maybe, one day? Thanks for the share. 👴 Not that 60 has anything to do with affording it, but you know what I mean.
Enjoy your guitar journey and invest in a quality and playable guitar. if you're interested in looping and effects, there are more inexpensive ways to go (amps & Pedals).
So the TAG3C contains a Lithium Ion battery, which has a limited life. So what happens when it doesn't take the full charge anymore? Is the battery easily accessible to replace? The other Trans-Acoustic models have easily replaceable AA batteries....this seems like a backward step with the TAG3C?
I still don’t know what to think of it. I know the quality will be good enough to use in a serious setting, yet I wouldn’t use all the extras onstage. There’s a reason why I’ve spent time to do my research to buy a nice amp that I use as my personal monitor system, why I have everything I think I need to make my guitar sound as naturally as it can possibly be, why I included some beautiful reverbs, eq, boosts, compression, DI, pickup systems etcetera… So, the only reason why I would absolutely like to own a guitar like this is because I am too lazy to plug into a small amp (and if I want to a little TC Electronic looper) that I have next to my couch anyway. Having a guitar like this means I can lay my lazy body down and play, while hearing a bit of reverb AND it will be a fun thing to take with me to a friend or a group of friends or band mates and play something that sounds better with reverb than it does without. In other words, for people like me, even though it’s a fun thing, I think I have other things to spend my money on (the new LR Baggs HiFi Duet is coming out soon, it won’t be cheap, but that would be MUCH MORE interesting to me - please Cooper and Chris, demo that one when you get them in!). Of course not everyone is like me, but then I doubt for who this might be interesting. It’s still an expensive guitar for people who are passed the beginners phase. Let’s say you bought a nice Guild or a Mexican made Martin and by now you know you are serious, then this new Yamaha is probably not going to be your next purchase. So…. the only group of people that I can think of who would be interested is the group of people who have more than enough money to spend and already own 4 to 7 high end guitars, two or three cheaper guitars to try stuff out with and are just as excited to experience playing one of those guitars as I am. I’m probably wrong, I might have forgotten a specific group of people, or my brain just functions completely different from anyone else’s. ❗️❗️❗️In fact, I would LOVE to hear from someone who is seriously considering buying one of these new Yamahas and the reasoning behind it. I promise I won’t try to talk you into something else, I won’t try to make you look silly, I’m NOT a troll, I am dead serious. In all honesty, I’m even a bit jealous, because I would LOVE to have a guitar like this. I really hope someone is willing to answer me. 😊
Jeez... I've been lusting after a Taylor for while... But this sounded great just as the standard acoustic... Add the bells and whistles, and bring it in under 2k... What's not to like.
Haven’t found a video of anyone actually taking advantage of percussive capabilities of this guitar yet…can we see some top slapping / drum beats built into the looper? This would be amazing for covering Hermanos Gutierrez / Jose Gonzalez, etc.
I wonder what will happen to this technology in fee years down the line: the battery life will (can will the be able to b replaced, how about the charger/,why it is not usb etc, what about the app support.I played the previous gen of the transacoustic series guitar and I loved it, but than I thought if it would be resaleble in the future etc (also thinking about the electronics etc) I like the guitar but there a many things I'm not sure about. I could get a nice eastman etc, but the looper and effects are so enticing and hassle free due to zero set up. What do you think?
Mahogany back and sides is ok I guess, rosewood would have made it a guitar I would absolutely buy. Put this on a Jumbo guitar with rosewood back and sides and I will have to buy it. It's very cool and I agree this would be a great option to have on other guitars in their line up.
I wonder what existing guitar this is based on... The LL-TA was based on the LL series. The FG-TA was based on the FG. The base instrument look neither of those. I wonder if this is a new line....
I had a Martin with a computer that ate batteries in 4 hrs. And it kept burning out the processor the fixed it 3 time and replaced it 4 times in two years. The guitar also started coming apart. So I traded it for a PA system. So the older guitars battery lasted one year so keep your computer made guitars. My Alvarez and Takamine are 30 plus years old and my 12 string is 50 years old so I’ll stay with those type.

That actually what I have been waiting for, in the Smart Piano's from Yamaha, being able to use the Piano as a BlueTooth speaker.
I expect Yamaha will release more guitars with TA v2 tech, and after buying/playing both an FGX5 and CSF-TA, if they make a concert size, all-solid version- bonus if it's a cutaway- i'll have to buy one for sure.
Cooper you rock!! The Yamaha is pretty cool too
I have the LL-TA, it is all solid wood not laminate. This is interesting, thanks for the review.
Amazing guitar
this in OOO body shape will be insane
Could be but it seems the more space for the transducers to work their magic like in a dreadnought the better the sound will be. It does sound great! The effects keep you playing. I was lucky to get one early.
I’m going to San Antonio in May. How likely is it that y’all might have these on the floor available to try out? Haha
I'm still leaning towards an AC3R since I prefer a concert body, but this is intriguing for sure.
Nice...now I want one of these. Already have the FSX5 Red Label, though.
My nxt guitar fosho!😉👍
Waiting for the FS shape version already… Yamaha
O yes! 🧡
I'd really love to see a flamenco version or at least a nylon one. It's very tempting to get it as is.
Wow. This changes e'erthing!! I almost bought the original transacoustic but this one is a must have! And the price isn't what I thought it would be. All that for $1800? It's worth every penny.
Just another gimmick dude
I have owned my LS-TA Trans-acoustic since 2019, and I still love it.
Awesome delay and backing tracks was my wish for the older models yamaha listened
Now to get this in the fs9 and classical with a foot switch control pedal.
and a diferent version built for revstsrs and Pacifica electric guitars one for classical and with a pedal.
You can add those to the instrument out.
Hi there, thanks for a brilliant review, do you think this would good for Busking ect and doing a small Gig? Many Thanks Ian
it's a cool idea for even playing in a small room fill up with sound .. question how long does the battery last? 10 years or what? good question...
There is a company in France called Lag, that makes a bluetooth guitar called the Hyvibe. It was launched in 2019. It’s not as advanced as the Tag but close. It’s also less expensive.
They don t sound as good I’m afraid
@@EerieProductions1 they lag behind tag.
The LLTAand LSTA are also solid wood. And dang, this Tag3 looks/sounds like fun. Not for everyone, but for many!
They need to offer an upgrade package for those with the first gen TA to be able to upgrade to the 2nd gen TA
@@jonflores5832why? Which other guitar companies do that when they bring a new model guitar out??
@@paulneedham9885 LAG guitars with the hyvibe system. You can purchase just the Hyvibe system if you aren’t a fan of LAG guitars.
AND
Taylor also offers upgrade packages for guitar owners with the Expression system gen 1 so they can retrofit the expression system 2 to an older Taylor guitar.
So many magical things happening in japan 🙂
Yes!! This is very cool
I like the oasis joke 😂
Now they need distortion and fuzz and maybe a DTuna and a Floyd.
Cool, really cool
When will these be available in the UK?
Clever. Why not
That is one cool guitar, great for a multitude of things. Next is, you won't even have play the next one it will play itself. Take that
Martin
So the TAG3C contains a Lithium Ion battery, which has a limited life. So what happens when it doesn't take the full charge anymore?
Is the battery easily accessible to replace?
The other Trans-Acoustic models have easily replaceable AA batteries....this seems like a backward step with the TAG3C?
I have the older FGC-TA in the all black CW. And love it but now dammmit I m going to get me a Tag3 thats freaking cool.
I still don’t know what to think of it. I know the quality will be good enough to use in a serious setting, yet I wouldn’t use all the extras onstage. There’s a reason why I’ve spent time to do my research to buy a nice amp that I use as my personal monitor system, why I have everything I think I need to make my guitar sound as naturally as it can possibly be, why I included some beautiful reverbs, eq, boosts, compression, DI, pickup systems etcetera…
So, the only reason why I would absolutely like to own a guitar like this is because I am too lazy to plug into a small amp (and if I want to a little TC Electronic looper) that I have next to my couch anyway.
Wow are you ok?
Jeez... I've been lusting after a Taylor for while... But this sounded great just as the standard acoustic... Add the bells and whistles, and bring it in under 2k... What's not to like.
I wonder if they are going to do other woods other than mahogany?
Do you think they will drop a concert sized body?
I'm dreaming of a full mahogany concert of this guitar, man it'd be amazing
Best hard travel case for this under $300 ?
Is the battery replaceable as u will wear this one out in no time😮?
That is crazyyyy
I wonder what existing guitar this is based on... The LL-TA was based on the LL series. The FG-TA was based on the FG. The base instrument look neither of those. I wonder if this is a new line....
Cooper buys his shirts where Sydney Sweeney shops
Wow!
Yamaha guitars are awesome
Woah, sick.
When somebody rings your phone, do you answer over through the guitar? just curious.
I love my fs-ta. from japan.
