Gaba 100% works for me. I take it to ease the intensity of my tinnitus, which is worsened by elevated anxiety. I dont take it to manage my anxiety, however, as it's not that bad. But I can absolutely say that I feel it kick in within minutes, helps keep my tinnitus at a level that is tolerable, and makes me feel cool as a cucumber at the same time. This guy posts a video saying "it doesn't work, there I just saved you money," then goes on to say "use it if it works for you" in the comments. Then multiple people in the comments talk about how it does work for them. Hopefully he takes this misleading video down.
@gusthomas I have played around with GABA, Taurine, and L Theanine. I take all three but spread throughout the day. I've been very happy. It's not gone, but it's quiet enough to make me not feel the need to off myself on a daily basis.
I don't have any issue with people taking GABA if they feel like it works, the truth is there isn't much evidence to support it's use in any medical condition at this time
@@ShrinksInSneakersThere is your proof bud. There are many thousands of comments on youtube about how Gaba supplements are a total game changer for folks. The proof is in the pudding. Not the “scientific” research. Don’t be too caught up on “Gaba supplement doesn’t cross the blood brain barrier”.. it’s irrelevant in this case. Like in most cases. It doesn’t have to cross the blood brain barrier to work. Look into it before your next video
Dr. Daniel Amen, a renowned psychiatrist who has studied the brain extensively, recommends GABA, magnesium, citrate, and L theanine. This video sounds in genuine to me. Anyone who would push benzos over a natural remedy is suspect.
GABA is available as a dietary supplement. However, much of it might not be able to get into your brain. (Technically, this is called “crossing the blood-brain barrier.” The barrier is a unique membrane that only allows certain molecules to pass through it to and from your brain). So, it’s not known what effects - if any - taking dietary GABA supplements may have on your brain. So far, there isn’t any strong scientific evidence to support the use of a GABA supplement for treating medical conditions. More studies, in larger numbers of people, are needed.
@@ShrinksInSneakersNeither does Tylenol, or ibuprofen or SSRI’s or much anything else so…… what is your point? They still work as intended. Why?? Because crossing the blood brain barrier isn’t necessary. It’s not part of the equation.
@@ShrinksInSneakers it's not supposed to cross the blood-brain barrier. All of the research I've found online says it works through the gut. @@ShrinksInSneakersThen say that, that there is no "strong scientific evidence", but that is not what you say on the video. You just plainly say "it doesn't work", discouraging people to even try it believing in you, and your "saving them $20 dollars"... Very manipulative.
I take GABA and I love it. It’s made such a huge difference for me. it differently relaxes me and calms my nervous system… But then again, the nervous system can be affected by the gut as well not just the brain
Worked for me right away. Have a been suffering from a deficiency and have had severe anxiety and insomnia for over a year. Taking Gaba got rid of my anxiety and I am now sleeping through the night.
GABA is also used in the gut. What I recall is that the supplement goes to the gut, and this allows the GABA produced in the body to focus on the brain. Any thoughts appreciated.
did a little research and read that gaba helps the nervous system and prevents the nervous system from overreacting people who have low gaba or if their body isnt producing it people have increased anxiety
@majeedmohamed9523 might also be a b12 deficiency actually ask your Dr for a blood test... I had a bunch of anxiety and found out I had a b12 deficiency my dr told me to start eating more fish and red meat and take supplements if i can. B12 deficiency can cause sleep trouble and anxiety, aches and pains, confusion
Most oral GABA supplements are destroyed in digestion and never make it into the blood, and maybe may need to take higher amounts. I found that the GABA with L-theanine in a liposomal liquid formula made by Quicksilver Scientific works great for me. I would not take Gaba in capsule form for sure and I also think mixed with the L-theanine for enhanced effect works beautifully.
Chatgpt...why do some people feel calm when gaba doesn't cross the blood brain barrier? GABA supplements typically don't cross the blood-brain barrier in significant amounts, so their direct effect on the brain is limited. However, people who take GABA supplements often report feeling calmer or less anxious. There are a few possible explanations for this: 1. **Peripheral Effects**: GABA might have effects on the nervous system outside of the brain, such as in the gut or peripheral nervous system, where it could influence mood indirectly. The gut-brain connection, for example, is a well-studied area where changes in the gut can affect mental states. 2. **Placebo Effect**: Some of the effects people experience from GABA supplements could be due to the placebo effect. If someone believes that taking GABA will make them feel calmer, they might actually experience that feeling, even if the supplement isn't acting directly on the brain. 3. **Small Amounts Crossing**: There is some debate about whether tiny amounts of GABA might cross the blood-brain barrier or affect the brain indirectly through other mechanisms. Even small changes in GABA levels could potentially have some impact on brain function, though this is not well understood. 4. **Modulation of Gut-Brain Axis**: Some researchers suggest that GABA might influence the gut-brain axis, where the gut communicates with the brain through the vagus nerve and other pathways. Changes in the gut environment could influence the central nervous system indirectly. In summary, while GABA supplements may not directly cross the blood-brain barrier, they might still have an impact through peripheral effects, indirect pathways, or even psychological factors like the placebo effect.
U r right in "some way" if it works for some people it means they have leaky gut or leaky brain " those who feel disoriented after simple workout, and might get sick if they workout too hard " yes it would work for them beautifully, if didn't , then your gut is fine so you have to take vitamin b6 and l theanin, THERE YOU HAVE IT
