"We don't want to encourage people to take supplements because theoretically anything that increases GABA, Glutamate, Serotonin etc because that system is so delicate that even small changes make a difference in the way our body functions and can easily throw the system even further out of whack so it's better to look at what's causing the imbalances Eg. Chronic stress etc." Replace supplements with antidepressants and after 31 years of chemical intervention and dependency, I would show that statement to anyone thinking of using a chemical crutch first. So, patients of ALS, have the problem of NOT enough GABA, or too MUCH Glutamate, and therefore, the nerve cell are always in a condition of "exitment" till they get destroied, which causes that the muscles don't get the message from the brain to function. I was wondering why not take GABA supplements and solve the problem? But appatently, it does not go through the brain barier, and the liver destroys the "extra" GABA in the body. Also, the medication that ALS patients receive, is to decrease part of the Glutamate. But, I am wondering, if GABA is made from Gutamate, then destroing the Glutamate, is it not causing the body to produce even less GABA? Then the medication, not only does not help, but causing damage. Am I wrong?

GABA is readily available in health food stores in USA. I was suffering from depression earlier this year and started taking GABA with L- theanine from my health food store. My research showed it takes 2 weeks for the full effect to kick in. Sure enough 14 days later I woke up feeling so much better. I was approved by my Dr. to qualify for counseling from a MFC licensed professional who was also a female and the two combo therapy and supplements got me back on track. It takes 2 full weeks for the supplements to build up in your system but it’s much better than prescription medication which I’ve been on going through a divorce after a 40 year marriage. I highly recommend going through the supplement route VS the prescriptions. Gentler on your system and not addictive as some prescribed medications can be.

Well it depends what your dealing with but fish oil and taurine/b6 are probably the most important supplements for a healthy brain anyone can benefit from them.
Vitamin B3 probably wouldn't do much for Glutamate as Glutamate dehydrogenenase only really makes Glutamate when ammonia levels are too high. Most Glutamate is produced from glutamine through the enzyme Glutaminase.

Nice video, at 16:03 Magnesium, is a macro mineral, not a vitamin. It is not found in sufficient levels particularly with people consuming a Group 4, UPF diet. I have had great success with hundreds using both Mg. GABA and also key amino acids, also HTMA to find tissue levels are affordable and put the power back in my client's hands. Cacao is less processed than cocoa.
None. I've just finished a diazepam taper. I had to reinstate after seven months of hell. Then a seven month taper from 20 mg of diazepam. There is a list of herbal products and medications to avoid. You can obtain the list online. It's quite extensive and traumatic..

@@garysimone4977 I would stay on that dose of diazepam for at least two weeks then jump. I handled the 1 mg drops from 8mg down to 2mg then I went half mg drops every two weeks. Every is different though. You've made it though and we'll done. You're through the worst. I do advise any surgical procedures need to be analysed. Like any thing that acts on gaba. Which is most things. I need dental surgery in the near future gases like propofol and midazolam will act on gaba and other gases. Just warning people that need general anesthesia beware. Fermentation is hugely important & missing from the modern diet both in the foods we eat & the gut. Traditional diets fermented or sprouted grains & legumes before eating. Hominy instead of plain corn. Legumes can chelate essential minerals from the body. Gut bacteria are destroyed by many things in the modern world: chlorine in water, pasteurized foods, antibiotics. Just a clean diet . There is a list online tells you what to avoid. Herbals and medicinals. Just eat clean. Your receptors are downregulated they don't need gaba supplements they need to unregulate naturally. You could introduce some products down the line but not recommend at the early stages.
Gabapentin after some times taking it causes long term memory lapses like PIN for ATMs. This is disturbing & be prepared. Not only this happened to me but also to my doctor of 35 years. I had to stop Gabapentin .....

It then started making her suicidal as each dose wears off so it's extremely difficult for her to discontinue use even with tapering down. She's tried antidepressants without any success, this makes me hopeful that ketmine may assist her in discontinuation.
High levels of glutamate can cause epilepsy seizure, that is why Lamotrygine (epi drug) blocks the overdose of glutamate level that could enter neurons (also ions of Calcium), and modulate sodium channels to balance the neurotransmission... So direct influence of GABA on neurons is not enough to prevent the seizures... sorry but the authority of doctors are questionable and it is good to address it in every suplement/drug recommendation. Xanax is the real dangerous killer if doctors prescribe and recommend it frequently it shows their lack of knowledge or ignorance... sorry but this is a fact. I recommend lamotrigine the best drug that was developed so far for EPI.... Gabapentin is not enough ....
Low Glutamate and GABA together could have a negligible effect on blood pressure. I would look at other potential causes rather than focus specifically on the Glutamatergic cycle here, unless you have other evidence to suggest severe issues with your Glutamatergic cycle.
Hey, I was wondering if I could ask you a question: I feel like my glutamate and or GABA system is very, very out of balance as I don’t feel right, and I also can’t feel the psychoactive effects of drugs *whatsoever* and I’m talking prescriptions or recreational drugs regardless of dose. The only drugs that work are other GABA drugs, and partially some of the physical side effects of others, but no mental effect at all. This issue occurred after taking phenibut daily for 3 years (3G a day). phenibut is a VGCC blocker, and a GABA-B agonist. Think of it as essentially gabapentin combined with baclofen. I tapered off phenibut verrrrry slowly to 500MG, then swapped to 300MG of gabapentin, and I’ve now been on the gabapentin for a year, and it’s nearly impossible for me to taper off it. If I try to reduce the dose I become very depressed, lethargic, sleep in all day long, feel sick, just really awful. My thought here is that my glutamate system was inhibited for far too long, and that’s why other prescriptions or psychoactive drugs have no effect on me. The only drugs that work are other GABA drugs, however that’s it. I cannot feel any of the psychoactive effects of any other drugs, and I believe the same reason that is occurring is also why I don’t feel good. You could give me 50MG of morphine or 100MG of adderall and I wouldn’t feel any mental effects from it despite having no tolerance. I might feel some physical effects / side effects, but nothing mentally. Do you have any idea why taking phenibut would cause this problem? I’ve never heard of anyone else experiencing this. Can you lead me in the right direction for where I could learn more about how this could be occurring? I’ve done countless hours trying to learn more, but I can’t find anything. I’m thinking about getting on the keto diet as I hear it can significantly help regulate the GABA system, and hopefully that will help me get off gabapentin as I assume it’s the gabapentin that’s screwing me up. It appears the gabapentin is almost giving me a paradoxical effect. I feel kind of OK when taking it, but if I were to take any more than 300MG it will make me feel worst.

How 'bout this: At the age of 24 - not 23, not 25 - I NEVER saw them again! Also when visiting The Netherlands I spoke with a Probation Officer. She told me that their information that was that the brain only stopped growing at the age of 24. I was surprised but it matched my experience. So very gratifying to hear that again. What if you see addiction in your direct family as well as previous generations, and anxiety disorders in siblings and generation above? You'd have to know that your levels of glutamine are fine, which as she said they probably are. In which case, there may be a mutation preventing natural production of Glutaminase, the enzyme responsible for converting glutamine into Glutamate. Adding additional glutamine to such a system could have some effect, but I've found amphetamines (legally prescribed as part of ADHD treatment) work well for boosting natural production of Glutamate. Unfortunately, due to the blood-brain barrier, there really aren't any supplemental options for Glutamate, if your body just doesn't produce the glutaminase.

We have two strong cellular mechanisms: 1- is mithocondrial 2- lysosomal. Its interesting that you mention sex hormones at the beginning of this video. Male sex hormones are almost totally ignored when dealing with males and mental health issues. Actually many health organizations around the world seem to be pushing hard against any use of testosterone at all for man, when optimal testosterone levels in men have many health benefits not just in mood but also preventing diabetes, improving cardiovascular health to name just a few. Greatly overlooked in men but of great benefit. Too much ignorance and scare mongering when it comes to testosterone as its commonly believed but false that testosterone causes heart attacks, cancer, lowers immunity etc but if one digs into the research they will find the opposite. Out of all the treatments in reguards for neurotransmitters and hormones, testosterone should ne top of the list for many men and will help fix a multitude of problems before even considering many psychiatric drugs.

The increased rates of heart disease and cancer are in men with lower testosterone and increasing levels of estrodiol who are 40 yo or older. Their hormone levels drop and health issues increase. Similar to women, when they hit menopause their risks of heart disease increase. It would be safer for a man to going on TRT then not to put them on cholesterol meds, antidepressants, pain killers and sleep meds. So many health people confuse testosterone with steroid such as cortisone. Because cortisone decreases immunity doesnt mean testosterone replacement to a healthy level is immunosuppressive, if that was the case young men would have suppressed immune function and catching many infections. Increased Cholesterol is another myth about using physiological doses of testosterone. A smart cardiologist realises low testosterone is a big cardiac risk, increasing it to normal range is beneficial and cardio protective. Testosterone and anabolic steroids are what kept many hiv pts alive before anti retroviral drugs were available, they had very compromised immune system and theres research showing increased immune function after steroid treatment.
I couldn't agree more. In fact my own experience of depression stemmed from quite an extreme drop in T levels between 43 and 45 years of age, although i didn't know it and spent 2 anxiety and angst-ridden years trying to figure out what the hell happened to me. My mood and my sense of well-being went over a cliff! It almost wrecked my life. After many attempts to pyscho-analyse myself back to 'normality' i eventually read something about Testosterone and mood and went to have it checked with a good endocrinologist. However she said your T is about 350 so quite good for a man your age. I had no hypogonadism, so in her opinion it wasn't T deficiency. She was wrong. The range for men for normal T is approx 250 -1100 which is a very wide range and when I took some natural supplements and a couple of other key actions to boost T and reduce oestrogen also [which reduces your available T levels] like magic my mood, optimism, sense of vitality returned me to where I was before my two years of hell. And when I got my T measured three months later it was at 850. So all of this info is available elsewhere on RUclips, however my small addition to this gradually building folk knowledge, and which I haven't seen elsewhere is this: One of the major challenges in someone who was mentally [relatively] healthy all their life and is suddenly in deep anxiety and depression is the huge shock that the change causes which in turn can then lead to a vicious cycle downwards. So it's not just the descent, it's the speed and strength of the decent, that can really traumatise us. In short, 'normal' levels of T are different for everyone and mine was clearly around 850 approx [as at 850 i feel exactly the same as I did at 42 years old - not stronger, not more positive - just the same] so then a drop to 250 would've been huge and had a huge impact on my psyche and sense of self, much more than if it had gradually gone down by the expected average of 1-2% per year. Why it went down by so much and so quickly is another story for another time, but it went over a cliff and almost brought me over the cliff with it. It's not testosterone that's being downplayed by the medical profession. Its hgh. Essentially everything has to be in balance. But you can't pill pop your way to a healthy life. Glutamic acid in foods is important for everyone to eat it does not cause excess glutamate in the brain as it does not cross the blood brain barrier and the body regulates how much glutamate it needs the rest is excreted. To Make GABA we need to eat foods HIGH in gluatamates so bring on the proteins, parmesan cheese, mushrooms and everything high in glutamic acid.
Doesn't food high in gluten excite the brain? Ice recently tapered off diazepam and had a pizza the other day and my sleep was non existent. My gaba receptors are still downregulated therefore any foods high in gluten would affect the upregulation of my gaba receptors..
In my subjective experience, if your nervous system leans more to glutamatergic firing rather than GABA, I’d be very observant in regard to norepinephrine and dopamine re-uptake in SNRI medication. NE and DA promote more glutamatergic firing.

So direct influence of GABA on neurons is not enough to prevent the seizures... sorry but the authority of doctors are questionable but it is good to address it in every suplement/drug recommendation. I wish it was that simple to me. Find simplicity like this. I started GABA today. My wife felt asleep from it. i stayed up all night worrying. Glutamate sending signals and GABA shuts em down. Got my blood work today. It was a shock. In one year. My thurood gone 250% up. Never had a problem. My liver gone up 100% in enzymes. I dont drink or smoke. Take 40 vitamins aday. I know I will die. I got hold of Bromantane and NSI-189 plus 9MBC. Took some. My kidney is better. So is my cholesterol and triglyceride bit my liver and thyroid suddenly falling. Found out old doctor lied. Had inflammation for 3 years. From what? Cancer or liver. I started MK-677 recently and its a HGH and I know it can decrease T4 and increase T3 ("controversial) wjt eoild that destroy liver. My glucose is fine. 34mol A1C and 5.7 average glucose. My father was psychologist. Died from Parkinsons on my birthday. I feel the pain in my brain last 3 years are coming from somewhere. I took 750 mg gaba. 37 mg B6 while taking B6 in strongest B complex there exist to buy from Germany. Look into the shutdown of Choline when people take devils breath like scorpolamin. It drcresses choline and explains the infant behavior. Know a guy who got robbed. Suffered still brain damage and memory problems. There is a link there in memory with devils breath and choline.
Funny how vomitory medicin shuts down Choline also. No one thoight of this. I experimented with most medicines. I taken up to 20 x 10 mg zolpidem at once. I csn still stay awake for days naturally. What kind of a doctor would you see to find these brains levels?

So, patients of ALS, have the problem of NOT enough GABA, or too MUCH Glutamate, and therefore, the nerve cell are always in a condition of "exitment" till they get destroied, which causes that the muscles don't get the message from the brain to function. I was wondering why not take GABA supplements and solve the problem? But appatently, it does not go through the brain barier, and the liver destroys the "extra" GABA in the body.
Also, the medication that ALS patients receive, is to decrease part of the Glutamate. But, I am wondering, if GABA is made from Gutamate, then destroing the Glutamate, is it not causing the body to produce even less GABA? Then the medication, not only does not help, but causing damage. Am I wrong?

I heard that as neurons are destroyed the contents of the neuron (glutamate) “spill” into the area which destroys more neurons that in turn spill their contents which destroy more neurons and do the cycle continues. If correct that would mean there are chronically elevated levels of glutamate creating an environment of excitotoxicity and this neuro inflammation causes oxidation

GABA is readily available in health food stores in USA. I was suffering from depression earlier this year and started taking GABA with L- theanine from my health food store. My research showed it takes 2 weeks for the full effect to kick in. Sure enough 14 days later I woke up feeling so much better. I was approved by my Dr. to qualify for counseling from a MFC licensed professional who was also a female and the two combo therapy and supplements got me back on track. It takes 2 full weeks for the supplements to build up in your system but it’s much better than prescription medication which I’ve been on going through a divorce after a 40 year marriage. I highly recommend going through the supplement route VS the prescriptions. Gentler on your system and not addictive as some prescribed medications can be.

Vitamin B3 probably wouldn't do much for Glutamate as Glutamate dehydrogenenase only really makes Glutamate when ammonia levels are too high. Most Glutamate is produced from glutamine through the enzyme Glutaminase.

Nice video, at 16:03 Magnesium, is a macro mineral, not a vitamin. It is not found in sufficient levels particularly with people consuming a Group 4, UPF diet. I have had great success with hundreds using both Mg. GABA and also key amino acids, also HTMA to find tissue levels are affordable and put the power back in my client's hands. Cacao is less processed than cocoa.

None. I've just finished a diazepam taper. I had to reinstate after seven months of hell. Then a seven month taper from 20 mg of diazepam. There is a list of herbal products and medications to avoid. You can obtain the list online. It's quite extensive and traumatic..

@@garysimone4977 I would stay on that dose of diazepam for at least two weeks then jump. I handled the 1 mg drops from 8mg down to 2mg then I went half mg drops every two weeks. Every is different though. You've made it though and we'll done. You're through the worst. I do advise any surgical procedures need to be analysed. Like any thing that acts on gaba. Which is most things. I need dental surgery in the near future gases like propofol and midazolam will act on gaba and other gases. Just warning people that need general anesthesia beware. Do your homework and seek professional advice from an anesthetist.

Just a clean diet . There is a list online tells you what to avoid. Herbals and medicinals. Just eat clean. Your receptors are downregulated they don't need gaba supplements they need to unregulate naturally. You could introduce some products down the line but not recommend at the early stages.
Then mixing Gaba with Tramadol is not a good combination?
I also take Gabapentin. I'm scheduled to see a neurologist.
Gabapentin after some times taking it causes long term memory lapses like PIN for ATMs. This is disturbing & be prepared.
Not only this happened to me but also to my doctor of 35 years. I had to stop Gabapentin .....

This is an amazing video, thank you so much! My sister was taking gabapentin for many years. It then started making her suicidal as each dose wears off so it's extremely difficult for her to discontinue use even with tapering down. She's tried antidepressants without any success, this makes me hopeful that ketmine may assist her in discontinuation.

High levels of glutamate can cause epilepsy seizure, that is why Lamotrygine (epi drug) blocks the overdose of glutamate level that could enter neurons (also ions of Calcium), and modulate sodium channels to balance the neurotransmission... So direct influence of GABA on neurons is not enough to prevent the seizures... sorry but the authority of doctors are questionable and it is good to address it in every suplement/drug recommendation. Xanax is the real dangerous killer if doctors prescribe and recommend it frequently it shows their lack of knowledge or ignorance... sorry but this is a fact. I recommend lamotrigine the best drug that was developed so far for EPI.... Gabapentin is not enough ....

Low Glutamate and GABA together could have a negligible effect on blood pressure. I would look at other potential causes rather than focus specifically on the Glutamatergic cycle here, unless you have other evidence to suggest severe issues with your Glutamatergic cycle.
Hey, I was wondering if I could ask you a question: I feel like my glutamate and or GABA system is very, very out of balance as I don’t feel right, and I also can’t feel the psychoactive effects of drugs *whatsoever* and I’m talking prescriptions or recreational drugs regardless of dose. The only drugs that work are other GABA drugs, and partially some of the physical side effects of others, but no mental effect at all.
This issue occurred after taking phenibut daily for 3 years (3G a day). phenibut is a VGCC blocker, and a GABA-B agonist. Think of it as essentially gabapentin combined with baclofen.
I tapered off phenibut verrrrry slowly to 500MG, then swapped to 300MG of gabapentin, and I’ve now been on the gabapentin for a year, and it’s nearly impossible for me to taper off it. If I try to reduce the dose I become very depressed, lethargic, sleep in all day long, feel sick, just really awful.
My thought here is that my glutamate system was inhibited for far too long, and that’s why other prescriptions or psychoactive drugs have no effect on me. The only drugs that work are other GABA drugs, however that’s it. I cannot feel any of the psychoactive effects of any other drugs, and I believe the same reason that is occurring is also why I don’t feel good. You could give me 50MG of morphine or 100MG of adderall and I wouldn’t feel any mental effects from it despite having no tolerance. I might feel some physical effects / side effects, but nothing mentally.
Do you have any idea why taking phenibut would cause this problem? I’ve never heard of anyone else experiencing this. Can you lead me in the right direction for where I could learn more about how this could be occurring? I’ve done countless hours trying to learn more, but I can’t find anything.
I’m thinking about getting on the keto diet as I hear it can significantly help regulate the GABA system, and hopefully that will help me get off gabapentin as I assume it’s the gabapentin that’s screwing me up.
It appears the gabapentin is almost giving me a paradoxical effect. I feel kind of OK when taking it, but if I were to take any more than 300MG it will make me feel worst.
Hello Doc. I was a defence counsel of 25 years experience. I had a lot of 'regulars' ie clients who would keep returning - repeatedly. How 'bout this: At the age of 24 - not 23, not 25 - I NEVER saw them again! Also when visiting The Netherlands I spoke with a Probation Officer. She told me that their information that was that the brain only stopped growing at the age of 24. I was surprised but it matched my experience. So very gratifying to hear that again.
As an aside I find it gratifying that you focus on the cause, rather than the symptom.

What if you see addiction in your direct family as well as previous generations, and anxiety disorders in siblings and generation above? There seems to be possibly neurotransmitter related issues in both my parents’ bloodlines including myself now. What kind of possible “leak” would there be in such a case?
I think it’s glutamate, a deficiency. Figuring this out now for myself and my addict family.
@@lexsea98I just picked up some glutamine and for the first time in my whole life, I’m alert 30m after waking. Typically I slowly woke up. About 11 it felt like I was fully awake. I’m shook, this is amazing.
You'd have to know that your levels of glutamine are fine, which as she said they probably are. In which case, there may be a mutation preventing natural production of Glutaminase, the enzyme responsible for converting glutamine into Glutamate. Adding additional glutamine to such a system could have some effect, but I've found amphetamines (legally prescribed as part of ADHD treatment) work well for boosting natural production of Glutamate. Unfortunately, due to the blood-brain barrier, there really aren't any supplemental options for Glutamate, if your body just doesn't produce the glutaminase.

We have two strong cellular mechanisms: 1- is mithocondrial 2- lysosomal. By applying Keto diets for ex (fat diets) you target fatty acids and those acids are used for lysosomal destruction (of bad stuff). Evolution will lower the shift from GABA to Glutamate eventually, but we still need to prevent auto-immune to corrupt GAD conversion to stay sane and safe. Good video but unsatisfactory ending.

Its interesting that you mention sex hormones at the beginning of this video. Male sex hormones are almost totally ignored when dealing with males and mental health issues. Actually many health organizations around the world seem to be pushing hard against any use of testosterone at all for man, when optimal testosterone levels in men have many health benefits not just in mood but also preventing diabetes, improving cardiovascular health to name just a few. Greatly overlooked in men but of great benefit. Too much ignorance and scare mongering when it comes to testosterone as its commonly believed but false that testosterone causes heart attacks, cancer, lowers immunity etc but if one digs into the research they will find the opposite.
Out of all the treatments in reguards for neurotransmitters and hormones, testosterone should ne top of the list for many men and will help fix a multitude of problems before even considering many psychiatric drugs.
An integrative approach is essential. So many people on psychotropics when the real cause is an imbalance somewhere in the physical system.
@@StardropSmoothie if testosterone is bad for a mans health why isnt there high rates of heart disease and cancer in younger males with high testosterone levels. The increased rates of heart disease and cancer are in men with lower testosterone and increasing levels of estrodiol who are 40 yo or older. Their hormone levels drop and health issues increase. Similar to women, when they hit menopause their risks of heart disease increase.
It would be safer for a man to going on TRT then not to put them on cholesterol meds, antidepressants, pain killers and sleep meds. So many health people confuse testosterone with steroid such as cortisone. Because cortisone decreases immunity doesnt mean testosterone replacement to a healthy level is immunosuppressive, if that was the case young men would have suppressed immune function and catching many infections. Increased Cholesterol is another myth about using physiological doses of testosterone. A smart cardiologist realises low testosterone is a big cardiac risk, increasing it to normal range is beneficial and cardio protective.
Testosterone and anabolic steroids are what kept many hiv pts alive before anti retroviral drugs were available, they had very compromised immune system and theres research showing increased immune function after steroid treatment.
There is a political agenda to lower male testosterone.
I couldn't agree more. In fact my own experience of depression stemmed from quite an extreme drop in T levels between 43 and 45 years of age, although i didn't know it and spent 2 anxiety and angst-ridden years trying to figure out what the hell happened to me. My mood and my sense of well-being went over a cliff! It almost wrecked my life. After many attempts to pyscho-analyse myself back to 'normality' i eventually read something about Testosterone and mood and went to have it checked with a good endocrinologist. However she said your T is about 350 so quite good for a man your age. I had no hypogonadism, so in her opinion it wasn't T deficiency. She was wrong. The range for men for normal T is approx 250 -1100 which is a very wide range and when I took some natural supplements and a couple of other key actions to boost T and reduce oestrogen also [which reduces your available T levels] like magic my mood, optimism, sense of vitality returned me to where I was before my two years of hell. And when I got my T measured three months later it was at 850. So all of this info is available elsewhere on RUclips, however my small addition to this gradually building folk knowledge, and which I haven't seen elsewhere is this: One of the major challenges in someone who was mentally [relatively] healthy all their life and is suddenly in deep anxiety and depression is the huge shock that the change causes which in turn can then lead to a vicious cycle downwards. So it's not just the descent, it's the speed and strength of the decent, that can really traumatise us. In short, 'normal' levels of T are different for everyone and mine was clearly around 850 approx [as at 850 i feel exactly the same as I did at 42 years old - not stronger, not more positive - just the same] so then a drop to 250 would've been huge and had a huge impact on my psyche and sense of self, much more than if it had gradually gone down by the expected average of 1-2% per year. Why it went down by so much and so quickly is another story for another time, but it went over a cliff and almost brought me over the cliff with it. If this reply is for you I'm glad - if not, let it pass... PS. There is no conspiracy to lower T in males - in fact females need T also. Rather it is the oestrogen saturated environment we now live in, which at the same time has produced and stored more food so that more people can stay alive, which is depriving us of our essential T. To take one small step to counteract that, consider eating a lot of cauliflower and broccoli, or take a DIM supplement to help metylate estrogen and maintain a strong detoxed liver [even with alcohol consumption you can do that if you are careful] and watch what happens. Essentially everything has to be in balance. But you can't pill pop your way to a healthy life. I'm 36 now my experience is excercise and strengthening the body has a drastic positive impact on the body and mind. You increase testosterone naturally, especially with lower body excercises like squats. You don't need a gym membership or expensive equipment. I got ripped and healthy from my own home. Utilizing my own body weight. Nutrition and exercise is the foundation. Consistency the key. You'll soon notice you don't need half of these supplements that you THINK you need.

Glutamic acid in foods is important for everyone to eat it does not cause excess glutamate in the brain as it does not cross the blood brain barrier and the body regulates how much glutamate it needs the rest is excreted. To Make GABA we need to eat foods HIGH in gluatamates so bring on the proteins, parmesan cheese, mushrooms and everything high in glutamic acid.
Doesn't food high in gluten excite the brain? Ice recently tapered off diazepam and had a pizza the other day and my sleep was non existent. My gaba receptors are still downregulated therefore any foods high in gluten would affect the upregulation of my gaba receptors..

In my subjective experience, if your nervous system leans more to glutamatergic firing rather than GABA, I’d be very observant in regard to norepinephrine and dopamine re-uptake in SNRI medication. NE and DA promote more glutamatergic firing.

That said, my recommendation would be to taper down followed up with ketamine treatment and supplementation.

Question for the Gaba and taking amfetamines in before developing brain,24, as GABA is an excitatory chemical. 1. It still is produced from glutamate, but then what is the calming chemical that works to balance things out? I remember I was taking melatonin to fall asleep for many years
