@@Allopientubefish2 I think honestly like every defensive coordinator has probably thought about something LIKE a bounty program before, whether they actually implemented it or not is the difference. If you are a defensive coordinator or defensive head coach or whatever, you are in a leadership position. One of the most effective leadership strategies is incentivization. This is why like, commission is so powerful in sales groups because it introduces a competitive element to everything that encourages people to DO more because they know they will GET more. That being said, in this context they were offering people like tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of dollars to not just injure people, but like... potentially ruin their careers altogether. It's inherently evil. BUT like I said, I seriously doubt they were the only ones doing it. The NFL and football itself are incredibly dangerous career choices. Nobody disputes this. It's basically like chess with humans, it's just that especially nowadays we aren't really supposed to like seeing the pieces fall. BUT the strategic advantage of either being injured or faking injury in the context of such a game cannot be underestimated. I think the fact of the matter is that selective injury may be part of the strategy of football, whether people like to admit that or not. It's just the Saints not only took it a little farther by giving under the table financial incentives, they did it and they got caught. I think a lot of teams quietly shelved their own bounty programs or similar in the aftermath of that and crossed their fingers they wouldn't get caught, too.
Knowing plays and wanting to take a shot at the QB to take them out are two different things. I know the Eagles had Smash for Cash, similar to what the Saints had
Yes, I remember but OBJ is kinda known to make excuses if he doesn’t have a big game. Maybe that’s why the NFL didn’t take what he said seriously. Althgh, i cant see OBJ making up something like that.

You gotta remember, these saints are a completely different team. They are an amazing team. I can’t say the same for the other guys though. But just remember that.
Cheating by taking out other players because they were not good enough to win otherwise , dose not make them amazing . They haven't been back since they got busted !
@@44xxggaaj none of the players from the defense ten years ago are still on this team. I am talking about the present day saints. I think what the 2010 saints defense did was horrible
@@44xxggaaj the 2009 Saints team was the best team in the NFL the whole season. They had the #1 seed in the NFC locked up, rested players for the last few weeks, had an amazing offense, and a defense that forced a tremendous amount of turnovers. The bounty scandal was complete nonsense made up by Roger Goodell and no evidence was ever provided by Goodell or the NFL. It's an overblown false narrative and a joke. The 2009 Saints team was amazing and the best in the NFL. During the "bounty" years they were well below the league average in injuries caused. Its just utterly false that they were turned into some demonized team that was considered to have caused injuries week in and week out.
I didnt realize how much hot water the NFL found themselves in during 2012-13. The Referee Lockout, Junior Seau's suicide (which led to more talks on CTE), the Bountygate scandal, the Ray Rice situation, the Adrian Peterson situation, Aaron Hernandez charged with murder, Dolphins bullying scandal, my goodness...
Fact Favre came from the 90s and was built different than any QB in league history (true Iron Man even at age 40), was why he finished that game. Dude at 40 probably had the body of a 65 year old given what he went through his entire career of punishments and injuries and still never missing a game. Took BountyGate to start the retirement process for Favre. Fact he retired at 42 was a miracle
At this point from the things Greg said he isn’t just someone playing dirty in football and a terrible person he is also a man who needs mental help cause the things he said in that audio sounded very seductive and evil
Think that's psychotic? listen to interviews of hardnosed tackles and linebackers from the United Football League, Global Football League, and 60s-70s football . Short famous clips: Csonka: so I fienged a duck and drove my shoulders upwards, fist and shoulders up and the beautiful sound of his head snapping back... I was going to get him for what he did to me and my team mate" (only full back to get a 2,000 dollar fine, and a 15 yard penalty for playing to hard)
Being from New Orleans (an extremely corrupt city) and knowing about the dark side of sports ...this was not surprising at all when it all went down..I'm sure many teams were doing this type of under handed locker room incentivizing. Enjoying watching the older Mikerophone videos and seeing the production differences, watched the Deflate Gate one on this channel last night. I guess every team has their cross to bear at some point lol.
Every team has or has had a bounty system of sorts most likely. But none of them even begin to compare to the size, sustainability, longevity, cruelty, and sheer evil of Bountygate.
As much as I loved a lot of the players on them saints teams this was some down right scummy shit and some of them absolutely should have been suspended indefinitely. If smoking pot can get you Perma banned then this shouldn't even have been a maybe
That’s because Oakland is a franchise that has been known for shooting themselves in their own foot since the 90’s. They get penalties because they’re dumb not because there is a bounty for them to hurt players. Unlike the Saints. Get over it. Your favorite team and HC are all POS losers.
That entire organization got off scot-free I'm not a Vikings fan on my eagles fan and I'll tell you right now they rob Brett favre of his last super bowl
The thing about bountygate is the saints defense at the time caused fewer injuries per game than the league average, also it’s been proven that the saints were not the only team to have a bounty program.
Is this a try from you to wash that shit that happened clean with some nice words with also finger pointing on other teams? What happened was shit and gets hopefully not forgotten.
I was at the game when Vilma came off of his suspension. It was against the Giants and the Giants beat the hell out of the Saints that day. And trust me, the officials were watching the Saints very carefully to make sure there was no more Bountygate going on.
The coaching statements referring to "kill the head" is way out of context. The coach was talking about a snake, " kill the head, and the body will die". He wanted to make Gore run sideways, not north and south as he did successfully that season. Make him turn sideways, kill the head. Just a few coaching cliches, not an order to hurt someone. Play the tape without explaining it, and it sounds terrible. Not the case.
"I want his head turned sideways before y'all get off the pile" ... He was ordering possible life changing injuries. You can deny it all you want, FTS.

@EDP445 this shit is over. the horse has been dead 5 years. no where near mad bro, just a shame that people think they actually got away with it. The ones who got away with it were the 31 other teams that did the same thing in some form of fashion

You guys realize that this happened and definitely still does to a point all the time in NFL locker rooms? I distinctly remember being 10 years old and watching Brett Favre et. al get absolutely demolished by hits in the championship game. The whole story is incredible, and was really well told throughout this video. What I think is surprising is how many of them are still involved in the game in some aspect to this day, Payton and Williams are still somehow coaching, and Jonathan Vilma is doing pregame shows for NFL Network. If i were involved in any of these teams/ networks I feel as though I would want to distance myself and my organization from any part of this scandal.
Minnesota had one in the same season lmao
It’s like patriots filming other teams ... th got caught ... as simple as that 😉
Knowing plays and wanting to take a shot at the QB to take them out are two different things. I know the Eagles had Smash for Cash, similar to what the Saints had
“Now that we got all that out of the way BREAK” (Ad comes on)
Does anyone remember OBJ sayin something about Gregg Williams last year he said his defense tried to hurt him
Yeah i remember
Yes, I remember but OBJ is kinda known to make excuses if he doesn’t have a big game. Maybe that’s why the NFL didn’t take what he said seriously. Althgh, i cant see OBJ making up something like that.
im sure some teams do it still, they just dont get paid for it or something more secret.

Even as a Vikings fan I never thought to compare this to the Astros World Series win. I should have a while ago.
My rb coach in middle school had something similar, but instead of 50 grand we got some stickers for our helmet and a big mac.
Dumb thing to say
possibly the dumbest thing I have ever read
well the Astros didn't try to kill anyone like the Saints did
I don’t think Gregg Williams still has a bounty system. I do think the jets probably need one 😂😂

This sorta stuff sucks, but to think it only happens in the saints organization is crazy. Glad you pointed that out, but not surprised. Another great video man!! Keep it up!!
You gotta remember, these saints are a completely different team. They are an amazing team. I can’t say the same for the other guys though. But just remember that.
Back then they weren't bud
jolbox 2 did you not see me say, I can’t say that for the other guys.
Not sure why Payton is mad at the NFL, they gift wrapped that super bowl win for them and the city after Katrina. That’s the real scam Sean.
I like how everyone acts like this is the only team that has ever done this, or it stopped with them lol
Well they're the idiots who got caught.
Thats the problem with getting caught. Is YOU got caught lol.
This still happens across the league. That's why Williams is still coaching. The NFL/Goodell wanted to make an example of the Saints.
Romanowski is probably low key a billionaire from bounties paid for his "dirty work"!😄
Get it right" Mr. Dirty Work". When people speak of Bill, former players start looking over their shoulders even now.

I agree totally like the saints were the only team to do dirty shit hey it's football this shit was going on in the 80's to
At this point from the things Greg said he isn’t just someone playing dirty in football and a terrible person he is also a man who needs mental help cause the things he said in that audio sounded very seductive and evil
Seductive? Sinister.
Yeah he needs to go to an asylum
Think that's psychotic? listen to interviews of hardnosed tackles and linebackers from the United Football League, Global Football League, and 60s-70s football . Short famous clips: Csonka: so I fienged a duck and drove my shoulders upwards, fist and shoulders up and the beautiful sound of his head snapping back... I was going to get him for what he did to me and my team mate" (only full back to get a 2,000 dollar fine, and a 15 yard penalty for playing to hard)
This video is going to be lit I can already tell
Dude just by the start
Being from New Orleans (an extremely corrupt city) and knowing about the dark side of sports ...this was not surprising at all when it all went down..I'm sure many teams were doing this type of under handed locker room incentivizing. Enjoying watching the older Mikerophone videos and seeing the production differences, watched the Deflate Gate one on this channel last night. I guess every team has their cross to bear at some point lol.
Every team has or has had a bounty system of sorts most likely. But none of them even begin to compare to the size, sustainability, longevity, cruelty, and sheer evil of Bountygate.
gregg williams got what he deserved earlier this week
My dad played linebacker for 13 years in the NFL. He said all the teams do it. Saints just got caught
Y’all ever heard of Jonathan Vilma?! pop!🤪😂
As much as I loved a lot of the players on them saints teams this was some down right scummy shit and some of them absolutely should have been suspended indefinitely. If smoking pot can get you Perma banned then this shouldn't even have been a maybe
Jadaveon clowney got that bounty on carson wentz in the wildcard round shit was so dirty
Who’s here after Gregg Williams is fired
They must’ve led the league in penalties for the 3 years that the bounty was going.🤔 wait that was Oakland 🤦🏼♂️
That’s because Oakland is a franchise that has been known for shooting themselves in their own foot since the 90’s. They get penalties because they’re dumb not because there is a bounty for them to hurt players. Unlike the Saints. Get over it. Your favorite team and HC are all POS losers.
@@topshotkyy9777 except Willie brown said they were getting bounties too back in the day raiders are the biggest p.o.s in the league foh

We need a good look at the 2006-07 super bowl and how it was rigged by the nfl 🙏
Lol what makes you think it was rigged?
Update: the jets defense is, in fact, NOT nasty.
Learning about this story back in 2012 made that 49ers playoff win even better
The thing about bountygate is the saints defense at the time caused fewer injuries per game than the league average, also it’s been proven that the saints were not the only team to have a bounty program.
Is this a try from you to wash that shit that happened clean with some nice words with also finger pointing on other teams? What happened was shit and gets hopefully not forgotten.
I was at the game when Vilma came off of his suspension. It was against the Giants and the Giants beat the hell out of the Saints that day. And trust me, the officials were watching the Saints very carefully to make sure there was no more Bountygate going on.
its always amazing to me that the NFLPA always protects the players even to the detriment of the game and other players.
This is exactly why ill hate the saints and root against them till Payton is gone. Ridiculous hes still in the NFL.
Yeah so ridiculous that he’s one of the best coaches in the NFL and runs one of the best offenses ever
"I want his head turned sideways before y'all get off the pile"
... He was ordering possible life changing injuries. You can deny it all you want, FTS.

You guys realize that this happened and definitely still does to a point all the time in NFL locker rooms?
