This was the watercolor fix I needed - beautiful swatches, mixes, and color comparisons. I agree on the edge ring - not something I'd want showing up on my painting. Which goes to show that getting to know your paints through experiments - such as these - is so valuable. Good work!
Awww thank you, I’ve been trying to make the swatches more interesting by varying the camera angles so I’m pleased that you enjoyed it. I agree, through doing these videos I’ve definitely learned the differences between my paints and how to appreciate them differences. The ring of pigment annoys me so much 🤣, I know to expect that now so can either avoid it or work around it. 😊
@@TammyNewmanArt I noticed the different angles and love how close you were able to get to the action. 👍
Aww thank you, I use my iPad to film so it wasn’t that difficult to get close to the action 😊
@@TammyNewmanArt Greetings, I just finished a painting with QoR and had absolutely no problem with rings. So please do try them they are so so beautiful.
Very helpful review! I also can’t stand the ring around the border that you got on the Qor. I now know not to purchase these, so thanks!
I’m glad you found it helpful 😊
I would also say I do really like the QoR watercolours, I’m just mindful of how I use them
hmm I thought I would like to buy the Qor, but like you i dont like that stain on the out side of the wet wash, so useless for skies. Loads of people recently have been ravving on how great they are, but I am not so sure. I think out of this comparison I prefer Holbein. Holbein as a general rule do not granulate as they are illustration paints. I havent noticed Daniel Smith creating a ring around washes so I will be wary of that , thanks for saying this happens.
They are different, but I have both and like both
