      I didn't like Starks as a Bulls fan back in the 90's, but that changed through out the years I have nothing but respect for him he never back down even if you were NBA icon, Starks was a scrapper he had to fight for everything he got, he went from bagging groceries to the NBA guarding the greatest athlete in Michael Jordan and he never backed down or was in aw of him. Michael Jordan respected that, imagine if the Bulls had Starks along side Rodman.

    • @doubleanetwork
      @doubleanetwork 4 года назад +6

      @Ulysses432 Ehh ... that 'snapping' you're referring to was more media driven than anything. Starks was ALWAYS a good dude and an even GREATER competitor.
      And I'll always believe that if the moment wasn't too big for him in that Game Seven of the '94 Finals vs Houston, he'd be immortalized in NY.

    • @doubleanetwork
      @doubleanetwork 4 года назад +1

      @Ulysses432 Too bad there isn't an eye-roll emjoi on this thing ...
      This isn't politics I'm talking about so chill with your 'ignorant' talk. Sports media DO spin things (just like regular media) and YOU'RE saying that he was 'prone to snapping' which is what everybody wanted to label on the guy. The Reggie Miller incident was as dumb as he got ... and that's about it, is all I was saying.
      The point I was making is that Starks always WAS a good dude and a great competitor. Period.

    • @kramermile114
      @kramermile114 4 года назад +2

      kayzehn enas he did that with a lot of players but it might have been more with John Starks. To me I think it’s because Starks was full of heart and energy and everyone fed off of it. Even when saying his name after he hits a 3. It always seemed extra special when HE did it. I remember it was one announcer, maybe Trautwig who even admitted that. It’s even a fun name to say lol.

      @@kramermile114 IMO, you're 100% right about everything you have said. Plus, his first and last name does have an extra "spark" saying it..especially Madison Square Garden's PA announcer in the 90's, Mike Walczewski.

    I’m from Chicago, grew up watching the Bulls and was able to experience the Bulls winning championships during my college years. We hated the Knicks and especially Starks. But honestly would have loved to have had him on the Bulls. He worked harder than anyone and was a bas a**. You only hated him cause he was such a fighter and not on our side. All this last dance coverage brings back such great memories. In fact the more i think about it, that 90’s Knick’s squad could probably beat our Bears if they put some pads on.

    When Starks went to the bench, he was still a very important part of the Knick's success. Starks was able to handle the pressure that Allan Houston could not. Starks often came through when it mostly counted. This particular Knicks team was probably going to win it all that year.....but then they got into that fight against the Heat in the playoffs......and then everything changed.
