Obama's ACTUAL get out the vote effort is actually an entire Netflix show called The G Word. Its an awesome show that shows the good and bad things government can and does do and also some things that ONLY the government can do because the job is too big for the private sector. It is also kind of a recruitment effort since it shows many difficult government jobs in places like the FDA, NOAA, SEC, and DARPA.

Yeah, govt. entities like NOAA and NODC has had a hard time with recruiting newer blood mainly because the past administrations that have been republican had put a freeze on the hiring process, which did kept my late father working as the head data-wrangler oceanographic info (and accessable to the general public) nearly 30 years, but he was getting sick to the back teeth of Mango Mussolini's massive BS dump that he retired in 2018-2019. IDK what the current status is with NOAA/NODC, but it'd be WONDERFUL if they can hire a new workforce to carry on some of my father's contributions.

This is one of the best monologues in a long time! I had to watch it twice to catch all the comedy gold emanating from Stephen's mouth! Absolutely brilliant writing and execution. Speaking of execution, Stephen's upper-class British boor was spot on. I almost died laughing when he just casually threw in the bit about shooting peasants with crossbows. Scary because that really is the attitude of the rich towards the non-rich... of the bunker-builders towards the rest of humanity... yikes! But somehow Stephen manages to make us laugh about the horrors of our time. Keep it coming, Stephen! And don't lock us out of your bunker when the day comes. ;-)

I'm a weed smoker in California, and I will say there have been a couple of times I thought the weed I bought at one of the local dispensaries was lower in THC than the label indicated. But for the most part, it's killer weed. All the weed I've bought that was listed at over 30% THC convinced me it was accurate. Head-popper herb that is WAY better than the stuff we got in the 1970's. Remember those 5 finger lids we got for ten bucks that were full of seeds and stems that had to be cleaned out using a Frisbee and a matchbook cover? Oh yeah, science has been busy since then.

@@elisabethvalade9866 Depends what you mean by "smart decisions"; he'll likely stabilise the markets (though Truss managed to do that at least a little just by resigning so it's not exactly saying much), but as far as anything else is concerned, like actually making life better for the people of the UK in any meaningful way...I wouldn't bet on it. Sunak publicly admitted not long ago that he had intentions of essentially channelling funds from the poorest areas of the UK right into the pockets of him and all his rich Tory buddies and personally I doubt those plans have gone away. The choices for his cabinet don't exactly bode well either.

I think Stephen is generally more negative about the UK than his audience. He often takes the piss out of British culture which isn't warranted.
He does so with US culture as well, of course, so maybe he feels it's also self deprecating where the UK is concerned too.
