Canadian here and yep the crap from social media and all the insanity in the US especially politics does not and can not be stopped at the longest "undefended " border, unfortunately. I might point out though that DePape has been living in the states for over 20 years having left Canada around 14 yoa. So he didn't really get crazy until after he left Canada.
And it's not just the misinformation and conspiracy theories on social media that cross the border; almost every bad thing in the US finds a way to spill over into Canada. Canada's biggest problem is its terrible neighbour.

I wish I still felt this way. I miss commenting with the old ladies and other POC about how great Obama is. Now I realize they were all brainwashed and I made a horrible mistake by joining into their narritave. If they get their way, people will go to jail for hurting other people's feelings online, my kids will be filled with weird sexual ideas in school, I can't have a gas powered car, etc. I was onboard but they get emotional, stop thinking, and take everything way too far.

I used to be you, I used to tell people they were wrong and none of that is happening.
