I'm a pagan. For the first time in my life I've been harassed about it starting in 2018. It's 2022 and I still get it now. My next door neighbor is Egyptian and Muslim marrying into a Catholic family. My neighbors families have no issues with this. But in 28 years of being here, my neighbor is having issues now with people. To me, his wedding is everything I love about America. Two of his four groomsmen are Jewish, third I'm pagan, and fourth is his youngest brother (also Muslim). My mom is a bridesmaid (evangelical Christian). And to me, that's everything I love about this stupid beautiful fucked up country. It's all of us coming together and celebrating all for all and cheering each other on. Whatever deity you believe in, bless the United States, bless the world, and let's see an end to violent and hateful division. My Mom and I agree on almost nothing, but I still see her almost every day and we enjoy the time together.

Can we talk about the reason he believes that he's done so much for religion, which is that a large percentage of his base sincerely believes that he was appointed by God as a prophet king, because that's what their preachers told them. I'm glad there are Christians like Stephen Colbert, and some speaking out in the comments, to prove that they're not all like that.
Yeah the problem is the intelligent Christians like Stephen are extremely rare and few and far between. I’ve just finally started seeing more books getting released by Christians against Christian Nationalism but the silence of moderate Christians is what led to the problem we are in.

As a Christian, I’d say he’s done nothing but divide the church. I haven’t gone back since the pandemic because people in my church refuse to get the V-word because of him. His politics have also brought a lot of ugliness out of people and I don’t want to voluntarily put myself through that.

Stephen has been incredibly helpful to me. I’ve been in a depressive episode all year and it’s really been bad in the last month. I’m at a low point right now.
