In all seriousness, it’s amazing the kinds of things people overlook in a relationship. I think there is some kind of optimism that maybe partners will change or they are not as bad as they seem. However, when we look at ourselves and see how hard it is to change undesirable traits within us, it gives a glimpse of the difficulty of seeing change in others, especially if there is no insight nor desire to do so.

A male serial offender of fairly average intelligence gets caught maybe 1% of the time. For every time they get caught there is probably 100 to 1,000 times they didn't get caught, fell through the cracks, got away etc.

Aired in 1955, "The Broderick Matter" from the "Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar" follows a woman named Lorraine Broderick. It includes a relationship with a wealthy lawyer, multiple aliases, even her attempted suicide.

Dutra, like some people, only need a catalyst, or reason to become cruel. Like, if Dutra coalesced all her moral judgments to Sims there is no accounting for the level of cruelty Dutra could have done. Just like in cults, the cult leader is not the most important, it's the first follower, the first true believer in the idea that is the most strident. Just like a seemingly moral person willing to do the most cruel only because that person coalesces her decisions to an older, more experienced friend.
