It is incredible that a person says to someone "if anything happens to me look at my wife"!! WHY would you continue to live with someone, if you cannot trust them and believe they COULD and MIGHT kill you??? This should be a wake up call that you need to move out!! It baffles me, that a person would continue living with their soon to be killer!!

This is a good example of just how devoid of logic and self preservation a victim of abuse becomes. The damage isnt only physical. Her gambling played a huge part in this. I think more so than some psychosis theory, which really hasn't been proven. Gambling is an addiction and addicts will often do what seems like psychotic behavior, but it is only the drive to keep gambling. So many of her actions before and after the murders centered around the availability to gamble. In fact all of them pointed to her ability to continue to gamble! The addiction was so strong that she was willing to kill for it. I feel Dr Grande should have addressed the gambling more than the alluded to, but not concretely proven, mental health issues. Because someone is addicted to gambling does not necessarily mean they have severe mental health problems.

There's no way Dave handed the woman he was afraid of a loaded pistol. This was obviously Lois's pitiful attempt to gain sympathy.
Addiction doesn't make someone a murderer. It's a stressor and it can be the trigger for already bad people to do bad things. The primary cause here was Lois's lack of empathy and I'm glad your analysis aligns with this because too many people are prepared to blame addiction for violent behaviour. I've known many addicts who, though far from perfect, owned their addiction and their suffering and maintained an ethical line past which they wouldn't go.

I'm not perfect and I've messed up many times. However, I'm also back in school and in my senior year. I'm applying to grad school to get my masters in social work. I'm getting married in October. I say this with 100% honesty… I am near certain that there actually is some wacky sci-if film about killer worms. I feel as if I stumbled upon it on the sci-fi network years ago - it was so odd, I questioned whether I’d been inadvertently drugged to be seeing such an odd plot. Whether or not they were wax worms. That I cannot tell you.

Look at all the abused wives that endure beatings and verbal abuse and all they try to do is leave and their crazy husbands stalk them and try to kill them. This murderous grandma had an easy life, she was just selfish and greedy and used the idea of mental pain to justify her crimes.

There are several casinos in Northern Ca.near me.

“Thank you for your donation” ( wink)
If some only realize, casinos are there to generate revenue for the tribe...not so much for the players, also take note, you won’t see any tribal members, or Native Americans gambling.
Why a woman like she could not have looked at her own family, considered them before donating her money & others life’s & money the way that she did?
I don’t know about this addiction, seems mighty powerful though!
