If you have repented of sin, put your trust in Jesus Christ, and been baptized according to ACTS 2:38 you HAVE received the promised gift of the Holy Spirit.
The very fact that you BELIEVE in Jesus is WITNESS that you have heard the CALLING of The Spirit of God leading you to repentance in the first place.
That still small voice that stirs your heart toward prayer and makes you hungry to read the word IS the Holy Spirit.
Those moments were you SUDDENLY have an inspiring thought or hopeful thought about JESUS CHRIST, Yeshua the Messiah, is THE HOLY SPIRIT speaking to your heart just like Jesus said He would speak and instruct believers ABOUT Jesus after He ascended to The Father.
The desire to do anything that is pleasing to God at all is from THE HOLY SPIRIT inside of you leading you.
Jesus said MY SHEEP know my voice and the voice of a stranger they will not follow.
You are HIS sheep, and you DO know His voice if you have believed in Jesus and made Him the Lord of your life.
I can't tell you how many people need this right now and I'm one of them

I needed to hear this. I have been living fearfully, that I am not christian enough. God's awesomness, and my awareness of my shortcomings/sins scare me most the time. 😱
I understand exactly what you are feeling. I’ve been having the same struggles. What helps me is to ask Father God to send me his love. Just putting your trust in him solely is all you need to do. There is no one that exists who is the perfect Christian. Being a Christ follower is all about remembering we can’t do it on our own and that Jesus has done it all for us. His perfect love will cast out all fear.
Reject lies from the enemy! God sees your caring heart ! Gods love never changes!
