@@KouriPrays Testing the spirits is being able to access if a person is of God. You’ll be able to do that by reading his word and getting closer to him. If someone actively lives a life and does things that God doesn’t condone then they aren’t of God. Well God is against sorcery/ witchcraft and mediums (psychics) so don’t get advice from them and don’t treat anything they say as law.

I recently became friends from someone I knew from high school and claims she has this gift of reading eyes. My gut tells me to not listen but I gave in to the excitement alittle. Freaky
So crazy. Literally about 5 days ago God blessed me with the realization that I hear His voice by remembering what He says in the bible. When anything Im wondering about pops in my mind, it usually takes me to a verse I read in His book. Thats part of hearing God

I was just taking a walk. I took my headphones out so I could hear God. I heard him through the birds. I felt him through the wind. I see him in people. Well certain people 😂 but yes 🙌🏿 it’s so amazing to have the privilege to hear God! Amen 🙏🏿
Hearing someone and understanding them are two totally different things. There is scriptural reference to drive this point home. Really dangerous to talk like this. You wouldn't need to take off headphones to hear him with natural hearing. That is all that is needed to see what you saying don't sound right.
I grew up in the Pentecostal church. My entire moms side is Pentecostal and honestly they are the most hateful people I’ve ever had the reluctancy of being around. It never sat with me how they chose to speak to people and instill fear into them in such a way that left a bad taste… this summed up 12 long years of my life in that place and cleared up the confusion I had. The unnecessary amount of chaos and show off preaching (who can preach the loudest or scare the crowd the most) was ridiculous and as a 7 year old I watched my family fall prey to this kind of teaching. I got so much lack for leaving this standard and the reason why is I asked God to speak to me how he would. He told me to read his word. So I did. And that’s where I found the most gentle and loving way that MADE ME want to put my sins aside. Not those shakey hand accusers. Thank you for this great display of words. And it made me laugh.
Wow, you summed up my whole life. I was baptized last year on the Fourth of July and my mom ended up leaving the church and didn’t stay because it was not Pentecostal. I went into baptism in tears but knowing I would find the Lord.

i've always attended the pentecostal churches so i can attest to that behaviour at time but to generalize an entire group of people like tha and speak about your fellow brothers and sisters with such vitriol suggests u still have some healing to do, if it's possible try changing the environment by demonstraing the attitudes u wish to see , however it's not working out don't talk down on em , i know a lot of pentecostals who aren't like that so all i'm saying is make sure you're not speaking out of a place of hurt but rather joy at the fact that you're not like the environment u came from

In this context I was speaking specifically about that group of people and that church. I have been to many other churches and denominations as well as a different Pentecostal church where the people were lovely. Apologies if that got lost in the message. I can only speak from my personal experience. Unfortunately, I do have many friends that came from other Pentecostal church’s that felt the same way though if that’s any consolation. The people including myself at a young age were taught to judge others and not much about the actual love of Jesus. I have no hatred in my heart and I’ve done a good bit of healing the past decade of my life. But I do believe in transparency and honesty and I was speaking from that place. Also I was raised in a way not to sugar coat things so maybe that’s why it felt a little tough to read. Anyways hope you have an awesome weekend and I hope this clarifies my intention. I had a prophet try and tear me down in front of a congregation early on in my walk with God. I was told I was lazy, didn’t have a job, and some other things, even though I was getting off work and driving an hour each way to this conference over 5 days. I’m glad I realized what was going on and didn’t allow the experience to turn me away from God.
I hate false prophets I grew up in that mess. And now because I have had experience hearing the voice of God in my life, if you are not already confirming what I’m hearing then you’re getting tuned out
What about Isaiah, Ezekiel and Jeremiah's prophecies. They were harsh, sounded mean and would sound 'unloving' but they were the word of God. People would have been confused, since they didn't have the Bible as reference back then... These prophets were meant to denounce and sometimes, denouncing doesn't sounds good... So they had to tell important prophecies that didn't reassure the people, unlike some other prophets who were telling "lies' just to be 'well received". Jesus didn't tell it 'nice' sometimes... And we have to be prepared for some annointings as such. Sometimes, God sends out prophets to tell it like it is, and it could come off very harsh. We can't put God in a box. He's very unconventional... I hope I make sense.
To nonbelievers and lukewarm Christian’s, the truth does come off sounding ugly and being judgemental to them bc they are living in sin and don’t know his Word to know it’s not being judgemental.. it is us trying to make them realize that sin is wrong which in reality is correcting them in Christ.

It’s not the words, it’s the heart behind the words.. A lot of times people who are preaching fire and brimstone are not loving. Are you telling people about things because you actually care or from a place of superiority or control..
This is good stuff. Spending time with God helps to hear his voice more clearly, as well as fasting. I’ve also experience spontaneous thoughts…as one preacher described it. There have been times where ive been confused on a particular topic that I’ve taken to God, and the answer just pops in head. He’s even answered questions I’ve had through vivid dreams. His voice is not easily explained, but when you hear it you know it 🙂

No pun intended, but I HEARD God tell me stop on this video. Mainly because I do question if I’m truly hearing God when He speaks or if it’s just pure coincidence. After watching this, I gained confirmation that it’s me listening to God. The timeliness of this video could not have come at a better time. Sometimes “strengthening” can be to strengthen someone spiritually, morally, and etc. if someone is trying to strengthen or edify you, they are trying to make you stronger which is better. Sometimes building “muscles “ doesn’t feel good until you realize you won the battle. That’s why discerning spirits is so important. We’ll think that someone is trying to “ talk down on us “ or hurt is when they’re actually trying to correct us because truthfully at that moment we know we may not be all the way there and they can see that. Know God and know yourself .

to discern good and evil comes from reading his word, and obeying the guidance of the Holy Spirit.if he tells you to pray, do so, if he tells you to stop talking to someone do so. When you ask for discernment it may come like a feeling of distrust, an uneasy feeling, a tightness in your chest, or stomach even a headache. The Holy Spirit will not overturn your will but he will gently nudgE you towards wisdom.
God sent the Prophet Isaiah to warn King Hezekiah and it was not comforting. And when the Prophet Nathan went to King David after what he had done to Uriah. These were not comforting prophetic words. We must not box God. Especially as He chastises those He loves.

You are not to be preaching to him in the first place. You don't have soiritual authority to do so. You need a man of God filled with Holy Ghost to do that.
This is true what he says about the prophets because even when Isaiah was prophesying with the warnings of the city getting destroyed by Babylon, he also gave them strength, encouragement, and comfort afterwards by letting them know that they’ll be a King (Jesus) that will come from the loins of David that’ll come and save them! There’s a office of a prophet that throughout scripture said hard things (famine, struggle, sickness, death) There are few prophets but they do exist Then theres just prophesying And then there’s a word of wisdom/knowledge Their each different

This is very true. I remember telling someone this. That God sounds like his word and whatever he says to you can be found in his word. He will never confirm anything to you that can’t be found in his word, and he swears by none other than himself!! I gotta be able to trace it back to scripture for it to be sound.

Well hold on there, I have received the Word through hard (mean) preaching. The style of preaching showed the severity of my sin. It encouraged me to turn away. It strenghtened me to go against the sin. It comforted me to hear to the truth of what Yah has said.

I have always heard His direction to do certain things. Lately, He has been speaking to me after I go where He leads me in the Bible. Recently, He led me to Revelation 3:14-22. He began speaking to me as I wrote it down as best I could. Unknown to me, He used Jeremiah 29:12-13 and 19 in this spoken word. It was so heavy and full of scripture. I decided to take a break and do our Sunday school lesson. 1)It was on Jeremiah 29. When I read it, I was shook. I had asked for confirmation. Then, 2)my daughter said she was praying over me and the Lord led her to Jeremiah. Then, 3)my friend said the night before she went to Tubi and watched some movie about the life of Jeremiah. These spoken words are always for strengthening and encouragement, but do contain His truth. His truth can be convicting, but He is not about condemnation at all.
One of my brothers "prophesied" to me and my sister saying that God isn't pleased with us, the way we're living and if we don't repent, we will die the following Tuesday. He'd told this to us maybe on a Wednesday. My sister was soooo scared to go to work that one time she was almost hit by a car. She was scared that she would die and the fear crippled her. I told her that prophecy wasn't coming from the Father and I said if the Lord isn't pleased with how we live then we will repent and seek his face. Never this thing if death and all that. There were just sooo many things wrong with that message, how it was delivered and the fear it had raised from my sister. Last year, same brother shared a "prophecy" to my sister and the way my sister was shattered she didn't even tell me the prophecy coz she knew I was going to confront him

There are alot of people in the bible that heard God before the bible was even written. I think its more of the feeling of God than just hearing him and to me the feeling is undeniable.
This is so good! Also, this may be of encouragement: Deut. 11:2. People want the glory, but not live the story. It’s like praying for patience. You know it’s the Heart, but you smart for it for a little while.
It’s in the feeling basically. If it feels like a prophecy u will feel motivated and encourage. If it doesn’t feel like one, you’ll feel shame and sadness, and unmoved. Love your heart for the word bro. Simple. Practical. Tactical...and Difficult to do in the flesh. Sounds about right! The inability to "hear" God is akin to what's called "competing priorities" in business. Basically, using your resources to pursue what you want to do instead of making progress towards what you're called or required to do. Let that sink in.
Gods words & correction aren’t always comforting or easy to hear in the moment. Especially if the spirit is weak & the flesh is strong. That’s where conviction & reproof come into play. Just like when our parents chastise us as children, it hurt in that moment/season, but in the long run, if we take heed of the message & CHANGE then that bitter becomes sweet. Pride comes before the fall, a lot of people will allow their pride to get in the way of truly hearing the most high. He will not be sounding all sweet & gentle when he’s telling people “I never knew you, depart from me ye that work of iniquity.” & that’s one small reason why a lot of people will miss the mark & won’t know him, because they misinterpret his voice & think it’s sunshine & rainbows. No, sometimes it hurts- especially operating in the flesh. But if we push the pride to the side then it will become a moment of grace & edification.
The reason this is still a question is that people for whatever the reason, I think it’s laziness won’t read the Bible. They just won’t do it. The go to a conference, call pastor, look at a video etc…. This is the same reason why they don’t know there purpose. It’s in the word! There’s an old adage, if you don’t want someone to know something, put it in a book!

I have been to many other churches and denominations as well as a different Pentecostal church where the people were lovely. Apologies if that got lost in the message. I can only speak from my personal experience. Unfortunately, I do have many friends that came from other Pentecostal church’s that felt the same way though if that’s any consolation. The people including myself at a young age were taught to judge others and not much about the actual love of Jesus. I have no hatred in my heart and I’ve done a good bit of healing the past decade of my life. But I do believe in transparency and honesty and I was speaking from that place. Also I was raised in a way not to sugar coat things so maybe that’s why it felt a little tough to read. Anyways hope you have an awesome weekend and I hope this clarifies my intention. I had a prophet try and tear me down in front of a congregation early on in my walk with God. I was told I was lazy, didn’t have a job, and some other things, even though I was getting off work and driving an hour each way to this conference over 5 days. I’m glad I realized what was going on and didn’t allow the experience to turn me away from God.

What about Isaiah, Ezekiel and Jeremiah's prophecies. They were harsh, sounded mean and would sound 'unloving' but they were the word of God. People would have been confused, since they didn't have the Bible as reference back then... These prophets were meant to denounce and sometimes, denouncing doesn't sounds good... So they had to tell important prophecies that didn't reassure the people, unlike some other prophets who were telling "lies' just to be 'well received". Jesus didn't tell it 'nice' sometimes... And we have to be prepared for some annointings as such. Sometimes, God sends out prophets to tell it like it is, and it could come off very harsh. We can't put God in a box. He's very unconventional... I hope I make sense.

It’s not the words, it’s the heart behind the words.. A lot of times people who are preaching fire and brimstone are not loving. Are you telling people about things because you actually care or from a place of superiority or control..

This is good stuff. Spending time with God helps to hear his voice more clearly, as well as fasting.
I’ve also experience spontaneous thoughts…as one preacher described it. There have been times where ive been confused on a particular topic that I’ve taken to God, and the answer just pops in head. He’s even answered questions I’ve had through vivid dreams. His voice is not easily explained, but when you hear it you know it 🙂

No pun intended, but I HEARD God tell me stop on this video. Mainly because I do question if I’m truly hearing God when He speaks or if it’s just pure coincidence. After watching this, I gained confirmation that it’s me listening to God. The timeliness of this video could not have come at a better time. Sometimes “strengthening” can be to strengthen someone spiritually, morally, and etc. if someone is trying to strengthen or edify you, they are trying to make you stronger which is better. Sometimes building “muscles “ doesn’t feel good until you realize you won the battle. That’s why discerning spirits is so important. We’ll think that someone is trying to “ talk down on us “ or hurt is when they’re actually trying to correct us because truthfully at that moment we know we may not be all the way there and they can see that. Know God and know yourself .

to discern good and evil comes from reading his word, and obeying the guidance of the Holy Spirit.if he tells you to pray, do so, if he tells you to stop talking to someone do so. When you ask for discernment it may come like a feeling of distrust, an uneasy feeling, a tightness in your chest, or stomach even a headache. The Holy Spirit will not overturn your will but he will gently nudgE you towards wisdom.
God sent the Prophet Isaiah to warn King Hezekiah and it was not comforting. And when the Prophet Nathan went to King David after what he had done to Uriah. These were not comforting prophetic words. We must not box God. Especially as He chastises those He loves.
I’d argue that’s strengthening. It was a refining of his character. But that’s different than prophetic shame that is often used in the church.

This is very true. I remember telling someone this. That God sounds like his word and whatever he says to you can be found in his word. He will never confirm anything to you that can’t be found in his word, and he swears by none other than himself!! I gotta be able to trace it back to scripture for it to be sound.

Well hold on there, I have received the Word through hard (mean) preaching. The style of preaching showed the severity of my sin. It encouraged me to turn away. It strenghtened me to go against the sin. It comforted me to hear to the truth of what Yah has said.

Sometimes these words come to me. Completely out of nowhere, very sudden and clear. They hit like lightning and I know without a doubt it's him.
I have always heard His direction to do certain things. Lately, He has been speaking to me after I go where He leads me in the Bible. Recently, He led me to Revelation 3:14-22. He began speaking to me as I wrote it down as best I could. Unknown to me, He used Jeremiah 29:12-13 and 19 in this spoken word. It was so heavy and full of scripture. I decided to take a break and do our Sunday school lesson. 1)It was on Jeremiah 29. When I read it, I was shook. I had asked for confirmation. Then, 2)my daughter said she was praying over me and the Lord led her to Jeremiah. Then, 3)my friend said the night before she went to Tubi and watched some movie about the life of Jeremiah. These spoken words are always for strengthening and encouragement, but do contain His truth. His truth can be convicting, but He is not about condemnation at all.

One of my brothers "prophesied" to me and my sister saying that God isn't pleased with us, the way we're living and if we don't repent, we will die the following Tuesday. He'd told this to us maybe on a Wednesday. My sister was soooo scared to go to work that one time she was almost hit by a car. She was scared that she would die and the fear crippled her. I told her that prophecy wasn't coming from the Father and I said if the Lord isn't pleased with how we live then we will repent and seek his face. Never this thing if death and all that. There were just sooo many things wrong with that message, how it was delivered and the fear it had raised from my sister. Last year, same brother shared a "prophecy" to my sister and the way my sister was shattered she didn't even tell me the prophecy coz she knew I was going to confront him

This makes sense, I would have to say also though that Since God cant be boxed then he can speak to anyone at any time you just need to be connected wth the holy spirit to hear. There are alot of people in the bible that heard God before the bible was even written. I think its more of the feeling of God than just hearing him and to me the feeling is undeniable.

Love your heart for the word bro. Simple. Practical. Tactical...and Difficult to do in the flesh. Sounds about right! The inability to "hear" God is akin to what's called "competing priorities" in business. Basically, using your resources to pursue what you want to do instead of making progress towards what you're called or required to do. Let that sink in.

Gods words & correction aren’t
always comforting or easy to hear in the moment. Especially if the spirit is weak & the flesh is strong. That’s where conviction & reproof come into play. Just like when our parents chastise us as children, it hurt in that moment/season, but in the long run, if we take heed of the message & CHANGE then that bitter becomes sweet. Pride comes before the fall, a lot of people will allow their pride to get in the way of truly hearing the most high. He will not be sounding all sweet & gentle when he’s telling people “I never knew you, depart from me ye that work of iniquity.” & that’s one small reason why a lot of people will miss the mark & won’t know him, because they misinterpret his voice & think it’s sunshine & rainbows. No, sometimes it hurts- especially operating in the flesh. But if we push the pride to the side then it will become a moment of grace & edification.
The reason this is still a question is that people for whatever the reason, I think it’s laziness won’t read the Bible. They just won’t do it. The go to a conference, call pastor, look at a video etc…. This is the same reason why they don’t know there purpose. It’s in the word! There’s an old adage, if you don’t want someone to know something, put it in a book!
