    Great video! Only thing I'd suggest different is using "the right stuff," gasket maker. I use the 90 minute stuff because I always feel in a rush with the 5 or 1 minute stuff. Best thing about this gasket maker is, it's ready to be ran after 90 minutes, at most. Traditional gasket maker requires 12 hours or more.

    Also, The Fel-pro 1205 gasket come with cork china wall gaskets. Not that it matters, still throw them away. I prefer the 1205 because the heat crossover is less likely to leak, even when blocking them off on the heads. Printa seal also just gives me warm fuzzys. Sure the ms90314-2 is adequate for 90% of street or mild builds.

  • @EthanE3
    @EthanE3 10 месяцев назад +1

    Solid advice. I thought the heat crossover was for deicing on cold start up. My 76c10 has a valve on the left exhaust that is closed when cold to force exhaust through the crossover and out the right manifold. Once warm, the valve opens and backpressure reduces. I'd like to block it off anyway....

      Switch them out and put a dab of rtv on the threads.

      @@SquarebodyStuff thank you for that. Is there a spot on the bolt where I should put it? Like on the end or the middle or up towards the bolt head? And how far down into the block do the bolts actually stick? I don't want to take the chance of getting any RTV down in the oil galley or anything like that. And should I get rid of the split lock washer? I have read pros and cons.

      It wouldn't hurt to put a thin coat on all the threads.

      @@SquarebodyStuff the threaded hole on the intake? It’s ran to a small black cylinder in the back left side of engine compartment. My brake booster is ran behind the carb but was wondering what that specific vacuum is for. Thanks

      They don't go into a water jacket, so I usually don't. It won't hurt anything if you do.

    The video was detailed, but… you are one messy engine rebuilder/installer…. You painted the valve springs white? More like over sprayed it?? Also, license plates to cover up the two holes Under the manifolds? . Who has that laying around? Good thing you didn’t say a piece of metal only found on the titanic.
