Great video thanks. I struggled with the fuel line connectors, but here's a great tip that worked for me and made it SO easy... I used an open ended spanner that was wider than the fuel line, but small enough that the head of the spanner was touching most of the 'collar'. I then just levered it gently (against the elbow/fuel line) to apply upwards pressure to the collar and hey presto, the combination of effectively pushing up & down at the same time caused it to just pop straight out. Tried it again on the other connector and it worked perfectly
Fantastic video my friend. I swear you could make a channel where you just build Legos and I would watch every video. Also - the scrambler is such a beautiful bike.
@@AlbesADV hey Albe. Are the over flow and breather lines left and right? Or they are both just straight out hoses? I can’t remember which one is which
Sincerely I don't remember, on mine the hoses came up from different sides of the engine and couldn't be misplaced without obviously crossing them, I hope this helps
It was very complicated?! Italian engineers makers have a different way to think like Germany's one. By other side, my Scrambler is full of emotion like Latin's peoples are?! Tks for the video. Forza!
hello, albe, one question, that may can answer. the tank offers two connections, one for the overflow and another for vent. ccould you help and tell me, which one (left, right) should connect to the overflow and which to the vent line? thanks in advance.
Hi, it's hard to say without looking at it, on mine each line came from a different side of the bike but right now I can't remember which one is which, try to follow them and see where they go, the overflow should go to the bottom of the bike while the vent SHOULD go to the charcoal canister
Greetings, I own a Ducati Scrambler. My motorcycle leaks gas when I start it in cold weather in the morning. What do you think is the reason? Plss help me.
Hi Albe, thanks for posting this video. It’s a great help. I bought a used fuel tank but it doesn’t have the collar clips for the fuel injector hoses, as mentioned in your video (around 9 mins) its possible to secure it with cable ties instead. Do I simply run the cable tie through the holes on the collar and over the L elbows? Much thanks
Hi, it might hold but I wouldn't recommend it, any mistake and if the lock valve fails, you will end up having fuel leaking on top of a hot engine. I understand in a pinch you have to do what you have to do, just be careful
Thank you. Very helpful. Good video and good close ups with good lighting and a steady camera. Well done! Now, can we track down the Ducati designers that made the tank a PITA to remove?
LOLOLOLOL, if you track them down tell them to call me and I'll give them a piece of my mind in Italian. I swear much better in Italian than English 😂😂
i hv ducati scrambler base model .I HAD STARTED MY BIKE AFTR FOUR MONTH AND FACING SOME PROBLEM WHILE IDLE SPEED....Whn i starts my bike then Rpm getting down and bike getting off so pls SUGGEST what SHOULD i do for idling speed...
If the bike was working fine 4 months ago, the problem is something that happened when the bike wasn’t used. The very first thing I would do in empty the fuel tank and put in fresh new fuel, if that doesn’t work, next step would be to clean the injector and the spark plugs, start from the easy things and work your way to the more difficult, good luck 👍
Hi Albe and thanks for the video! As you show in the video there are 2 different fuel line, is important to remember which one we have to plug on the left and the one on the right? thanks in advance
Hi Daniele, It's only important because there is not much room under the tank and if you cross them, the tank might not sit properly, also the lines are pretty short
Hi Albe, Excellent video… Just a question: Need to replace my right front Tuning LED Index light on a Desert Sled 2019. To access the connectors box I need to go underneath the fuel tank. Do I need to remove it completely or will it be sufficient to lift it with the wooden tool you used :-) Thanks for your answer Goran
Hi Goran, if the desert sled is the same as the classic, you should be able to do it by lifting the tank using the “super-sophisticated wooden tool” 😆👍
Hi Albe, Just wanted to let you know that I was able to change the front index light with the fantastic tool you showed 😅😅 The cable routing of the Desert Sled is really tight and there wasn’t a lot of room. Finally - with a second pair of helping hands from a friend I lifted the tank and he was able to catch the right cable .. Next time perhaps will check how difficult it is to remove the tank … All the best and always good ride Goran
Albe do you have a recommendation to open a stuck gas cap lock on the scrambler. I've been away during lockdown for 8 months and cannot get the key to turn no matter how much I try. Also i was advised to push down near the front of the cap as there could be a pressure pushing up causing the problem. Any recommendation is welcome!
Thank you for excellent video tutorial. Is there a way to drain the tank without removing it? Can the two fuel lines be disconnected from where they deliver the petrol, I am guessing the injectors?
@@AlbesADV Thanks for the swift reply. 👍 I filled my cafe racer with diesel last week 🤯 and paid £120 to watch some kid simply suck the diesel out into a tank in his van that he will sell on. That was it. He didn't even put some injection cleaner in to flush the diesel through the system, just left me to refill it with petrol. I was not familiar with the under tank connections, but if I am stupid enough to ever do that again, I will - as you suggest - simply buy a hose and siphon it out. I was surprised at the location of the fuel lines/fuel pump in your video......I thought Ducati would have put these towards the back of the tank where the fuel tank lowest point is, but they are in the middle. Love the Tuono, btw.
Is the scrambler still in operation? Ducati maintenance in Korea is very expensive and parts are difficult to supply. What parts have you replaced while operating the scrambler? I want to pre-order parts.
Albe, I need your help! I have snapped the two back bolts (seat side). Any idea how best to remove these so I can replace them? Also my Ducati is a 2018 icon and the bolts also have nuts underneath which I believe I’ll have to remove the battery to get to.
Oh no! However you look at it is going to be a giant pain. How far down did they break, any portion of sticking out? There shouldn't be nuts at the bottom at least not removable ones. There are a few techniques to remove snapped bolts it all depends on how much remaining bolt you have access to and it's hard to explain over a message
@@AlbesADV there’s a few CM to play with underneath but even with the battery out everything is getting in the way 🤦♂️ and yes my mistake there are no nuts. I’ve tried a few things I’ve seen on RUclips but I’ve just ruined the shape of the bolt now lol
Removing the muffler will not damage the engine, but the bike will not run right and that not running right will eventually have adverse effects on your engine. If you mean baffle as DB killer, then no you will be fine, most likely, you won't even need a tune.
Oh Man, you saved my life. Mostly. As expected (you warned in your video, that they break easily), i broke one of the two l-shaped tubes, that run into the fuel pump. You mentioned, that they are cheap replacements. But, where could i order them? Do you have a part number available for these tube ends? That would be highly appreciated.
Hi, unfortunately I don't, I went to the Ducati dealer and told them "I need the L shaped thingy between the fuel pump and the hose. I bought 2 by the way, just in case.
