    If we want to get into his potential, Plagueis was on the verge of Godhood:
    Plagueis was litterally said to be capable of any power during-
    Chapter 24 pg 283
    Of the Darth Plagueis novel.
    And following nearby context they directly list, Flight, becoming invisible, and Teleportation acrost space and time just beforehand (when Plagueis was a student of Vanamis before realizing Vanamis was wrong and he was capable of anything) indicating he is capable of these things.
    Which alongside further context of things like-
    Chapter 5 pg 61-62
    And
    Chapter 13 Pg 164
    Directly indicates he became capable of "any power" even with knowledge of the ancient sith "Force supernova" that could destroy entire stars, and Nihilus consuming entire planets. 😂
    And this is all backed up by him legit reaching out to impact all beings in existence at once using his power, and scaring away the force itself with them describing it "-as if it was in flight from him." during Darth Plagueis Novel Chapter 24 pg 283-284
    ^
    Which is comparable in scope to stuff Abeloth did (as in primarily Plagueis and Abeloth are the only ones who were said to have sent the force running from my knowledge LOL).
    And this is the same Novel that indicates the celestials merged with the force btw as seen in Chapter 15 pg 184.
    So Plagueis being capable of this without the Force Dyad, BY HIMSELF is insane In scope and almost “force celestial”-like.
    And in the Darth Plagueis Novel Prologue they'd describe his death as shaking the stars themselves across the galaxy further backing up these levels of power.
    In fact… Across the Novel in Chapter 29 title and events. Aswell as the Dark-Side beckoning Sidious to slay his master in the Darth Plagueis Novel Prologue (where his death is shown), just to “annoint” Sidious afterwards as if Sidious did something good.
    Suggests the Force itself, who is in a sense God for this verse, had to step in itself to finish Plagueis off. Which in this context included the Dark-Side stepping in to convince Palpatine to murder Plagueis.
    _________________
    Conclusion:
    It seems Plagueis was on the verge of Godhood via bruteforce.
    So the Force itself orchestrated his murder.
    Bro got DM banned by the Force. 😂
    And Plagueis is the only instance of this occurring IIRC.
    Plagueis: *Exists and terrifies the force*
    The Force: “Fuck that guy in particular”
    Soon after: *The Force makes Anakin to counter Palpatine, and then steps in to orchestrate Plagueis's murder*

      Random Sidenote:
      If we count Extended Legends Canon such as "Star Wars: Supernatural Encounters".
      Then I guess Näkäsh the Father of Shadows is the closest other instance of this occurring.
      Bassically... Before the Celestials Merged into the Force (making up a majority of its powers nowadays in the process) they turned on this Father of Shadow Näkäsh to eliminate him.
      Very similar to how the Force Post Collective-Celestial Merger turned on Plagueis to eliminate him.
      That's as far as the comparisons go though and it's a bit of a stretch given vast time depths.
      And Honestly similar comparisons with Näkäsh can be made with Darth Nihilus, Dark Underlord, Corrupted Dande Sin, and Abeloth respectively (when including Extended Legends Lore ofc).

      @eds1942 Месяц назад

      I believe you are reading into some of this too literally or convoluting somethings with others.
      In chapter 13, for instance; he is telling Palpatine was making himself desirable to lesser beings and once he has them, he will have any power he needs over them. And later, brings up ancient Sith Lords that were transformed into hideous images of their former selves by taking the “Lightning into themselves” and well as something about powerful Force imbued star ships (though I think that he was taking a Rakatan super weapons and Sith Meditation spheres and how such things were inferior to the true power of the Darkside). But, the ancient ship that was used to cause a stellar cluster to go nova, was enhanced with ancient Sith Force imbued devices which employed an array of Kyber crystals.
      But, Plagueis like many Sith, was arrogant and over confident. Which not only led to his demise, and that of Palpatine’s, but also cut Anakin’s potential in half, just as he was near about to surpass some of the most powerful Jedi of his time (which he eventually did anyway, but that was still less than half of what it could have been).

      @eds1942 That chapter was just listed to show his knowledge of the beings mentioned.
      Your interpretation is completely valid, though technically.
      After all... It's up to the readers to do the interpretating.
      You are correct that Plagueis is certainly arrogant, though. Just "how" arrogant, aka how much is litteral, and how much is his ego speaking is where the interpretation comes in.

    Somethings people need to get straight: 1) Sidious didn't plan on killing Plagueis that night. He didn't get him drunk on purpose. They were actually celebrating. Sidious in fact, was leaving the apartment, grabbing his cloak when a shiver ran down his spine as the Dark Side spoke to him. Only then, without planning did he resolve to kill him. 2) This mirrors Plagueis' own assassination of his master Tenebrous. He had not planned to kill him. But the gas explosion in the cavern offered him a chance and he took it. 3) At the time of TPM when Sidious killed Plagueis he was certainly not more powerful than his master. At the time Plagueis reckoned Dooku was as powerful as Sidious, and a better duelist. It is only after Sidious kills Plagueis that he grows in power considerably. However, by ROTS Sidious was more powerful than Plagueis had been, though not as knowledgeable. 4) Vader crippled as he was, was not at Plagueis' level, though was probably a better duelist.

    When talking about Darth Plagus, I see him being a character closer to that of Vitiate than Sidious. Plagus and Vitiate after a point were poor Sith, in terms of their ideology, but regardless were among the pinnacle of Dark Side users when it came to power. And they are both prime examples of how you don't need to be or think like a Sith to achieve true greatness in the Dark Side!

      Honestly if they do make a second season then that could be the case. Often the first season of a series can be lacking as the world building is established. Look at the animation quality of the first season of TCW and even stories when compared with later seasons. I’m hoping it’s going to be a similar situation with the Acolyte. We’ve got the foundations of what the world is like during this era and several characters are now established to be better explored, just as we get with later seasons of other Star Wars shows.

      @DanyTheMe Месяц назад +1

      The Plagueis novel is legends, so it's a very minor thing if they changed the age a little bit from that. It's not a retcon as it wasn't canon to begin with.
      The ki adi mundi thing is even sillier. People acting like the lore was broken cuz they altered the age from the back of his trading card as if that was somehow canon or in anyway relevant to any star wars story.

      Facts. Plageuis was Tenebrous's apprentice for around 70 years and started when he was young. Tenebrous knew Plageuis since he was born actually. Plageuis would maybe be born at the time of the Acolyte but definitely not grown and a Sith lord yet.

    I feel like Plagueis' appearance in the Acolyte was added in post due to the backlash they were getting. He is clearly all CGI and it just seems like a tacked on scene. Don't get me wrong, I like that we see him in live action finally, but I don't think he was suppose to make an appearance in the Acolyte story yet (probably figuring Disney might not get more seasons which is cause for hi earlier appearance).

    • @DanyTheMe
      @DanyTheMe Месяц назад

      Hard disagree. The show's themes are literally The Sith, The slow downfall of the jedi's golden era, and the ability of the force to create life.
      Thematically it seems pretty obvious that his inclusion was always intended.
      Not only did the promotional material hint at an important sith lord, but the show's first season makes a point to introduce so much EU stuff that hadn't been shown on screen yet, you'd be crazy to say the writers weren't interested in canonizing legends content from the start.
      By showing him for just one scene towards the end you don't have him derail Osha and Sol's story last minute while still letting the audience know he's been playing a secret hand in all of this.
      It also gives casual viewers the time in between seasons to learn about him and his significance to the expanded universe so that by the time he plays a bigger role in the next season casual fans can still appreciate the weight of the character.

    Vader’s failure on Mustafaar is the catalyst for Plagueis to begin his contingency plan in which the newly formed galactic empire will meet its end, as well as Vader, so that he can start back at square one.

    Most impressive. Arguably, Plagueis' only weakness was the lack of guile, which ultimately allowed Sidious to overthrow him - and which is still kind of surprising given that Plagueis was a top-tier banker and had almost the entirety of the Rule of Two lineage behind him.
    What brought him down was probably the characteristic Sith over-confidence - imagine how much of that must have a Sith Lord of Plagueis' caliber had..
