I laughed out loud as soon as I read the title. The sheer irony of that fear given how he died😂
Irrronic. He could save others from death but not himself
@@kurtschreiber8833Ironic, he could save others from meth, but not himself.
Plagueis was right to fear of sleeping. Because, Palpatine was the result.
Believe it or not, there's an actual phobia of sleep lol
also proves tenebrous did predicted plagueis demise and it was humorous as well with karma...you see palpatine have greater respect with teneborus than his murderous master that killed his master on the back that is cowardly to do and selfish since tenebourous did the hard work to created dead planets to have life again and creadted the twins with witches guidance, and creator of anakin but that was all part of his plan that neither palpatine or plagueis know about how vergence of the force works ...
@@user78405 yeah I agree, Plagueis kinda deserved it..but then again the rule of two would have eventually had him killed anyway.
The vergence in the force says that if you retain your chi properly, your medicklorian count rises substantially.
Fascinating. Sidious openly stating who he is, is a total power move. If anyone escaped that would have been bad. But he knew no one would.
I like how many art pieces of plagues makes him look totally different but still captures he's essence
The Force Repulsion Bellow that vaporized 6 dudes was terrifying and so impressive
ive learned so much from this channel lol
He trained himself to not depend on sleep. Instead he used the force to revitalize himself.
That’s hard
Exactly. It’s not ideal. I’m sure it made him more powerful, like purely in a raw power sense because he was likely suffering as a result of this, so as a “reward” for that suffering, the dark side would boost him.
BUT, and this is important, I bet it did a number on his mental state. He was probably practically insane from this, even if he was stronger. Add on top of that his obsessive experimentation and his compulsion to completely solve death-he was probably raving mad. This madness was a huge problem for him because ofc he wasn’t thinking right. It likely led him to believe that he was untouchable, so he didn’t have the proper wariness of Palpatine when the time came.
As a bit of an aside, it’s no wonder Palpatine had to wait until Plagueis slept to finish him off-imagine fighting a mad Sith Lord who never sleeps and is powered entirely by the dark side. It would be like fighting an emperor who’s also a rabid wild animal-just something you REally don’t wanna tangle with lol. He probably had dark side power rolling off him in huge waves given that awful lifestyle he was living. Probably Vader-esque
@@pIayingwithmahwii It is even more ironic, for what Sheev saw as the side effects of using the force to avoid sleep, and how it was not the best solution, he did the same thing, never sleeping.
What timing, I just listened to an audiobook reading of this very chapter
“It’s ironic, he could cheat others from death, but not himself”
I love this channel, I’ve been listening to it every night for the whole summer. It’s the last thing I hear before I fall asleep. Thank you for working hard to keep putting out content.
Same
These are so great. Thanks.
When I first read the Darth Plagueis Novel I was in my surprised by and in some more horribified by the scene when I heard audiobook narrator Daniel Davis thanks to have a voice that was best suited for the book itself. Prefect mixture of mad scientist, powerful wizard and shadowy mobster
What we need is a series to explain the sith Lords, and we need to see them as they are meant to be
a proper series starting with teneborus and ending with plagueis being killed by palpatine leading up to the events of episode one needs to be made!!!
Plagueis' favorite rapper? ... Nas ... "I never sleep because sleep is the cousin of death."
Yo that line is so relatable to me. I greatly fear sleep for that Exact reason. Sleep just feels so similar to what death would be, it’s horrifying
Bars
😂well done
Keep that crap out of Star Wars
I am so interested in learning more about the Canted circle. Would also like to know more about Maladian Assassin, and my boy Sate Pestage! What a gangster 😂Great Video, SW!
Noted!
I’ll admit while Darth Plagueis is a must read, it missed a very crucial moment in Plagueis’s life, his death. Sideous’s speech to his Master is one of the best moments in Star Wars (I even hope Ian McDiarmid reads the speech at a Star Wars celebration one day before he dies). That being said we never get to see what Plagueis is thinking in his last moments. His greatest fear is death, so unfortunately we can only imagine what he was going through in the end. Really really really wish we could’ve his seen last thoughts as Sideous was killing him. Other than that the book was well done.
No wonder he feared sleep! His lightsaber nightlight was temporarily broken!
That one pic of him makes the "Grinch" song in my head.
Do a video when darth plagueis kills the king of naboo by literally telling he's cells to leave he's body. That was truly scary
No problem with getting drunk though! 😅
Only when he was, was it the last time he was...
A treacherous apprentice took full advantage of that
His major mistake was that he truly respected and thus trusted his apprentice. Plagueis wished only to rule together with Palpy by his side as equals, he believed that Palpy wanted the same, he was deathly mistaken. Plagueis ended up choking on his ambitions.
@@0errab0 *aspirations
Plagueis is in my top 5 Sith Lords. I can listen the novel over and over again and still find it interesting.
3:35 Squidward's house be like.
What if Plagueis truly mastered essense transfer and midichlorian manipulation before meeting Dooku And Palpatine?
Needs to be a WHAT IF series
After reading the book, I'm convinced he did, and didn't die when Palpatine "killed" him
I mean, he did secretly pretty much and ep 7 was supposed to prove that smh, “snoke” was going to be plaguis! Until Ryan Johnson screwed it all up
This is amazing story! Incredible what happened. Sith officially revealing themselves. This is very good holocron. I agree,Palpatine took on the plan,he became so powerful, rich and influential. He should have left. But that's his mistake. I would like to know more. May the Force be with you too😊
We know so much of Palpatine , Plagueis on the big screen would be very welcome sight.
Considering what Netflix does to everything it gets its grubby paws on? No, thanks.
Turned out he actually had the right idea fearing sleep.
It's a bit ironic that most of these dark lords could have a kind of immortality in the living force if they were followers of the light.
It’s like poetry
@@eugenef0zzycame here for this
I think they would lose the drive. What made them seek immortality was their inherent hubris and fear--all darkside traits-- on the light side I think they would've been more accepting of their mortality.
@@afcomics7184 perhaps although I think in general the light siders don't seek living force merger it just happens.
@@OwenLeBlanc-l7h Right. Like with Yoda and Obi-Wan.
I realized Hego Damask sounds like "he got a mask"
Plagueis was mocking the senate...
This is what I need to see in a movie
No doubt.
This was great !!
Plagueis has feats that even Sidious wished he achieved
Darth Plagueis another Sith Chad who did not see his own downfall coming.
Turns out, his fear was not unfounded!
Star Wars:
Shadow Born
Title crawl about the explanation of where we are currently within the story so far. The last films have taken place, we reminisce about the tale told to Anakin during the opera, about Darth Plagueis the Wise. The story about creating life through the force, manipulating the force on even a microscopic scale, and the tale of his demise from Palpatine echoes...and then silence.
(Open on a medium sized egg shaped space station beyond the Outer Rim, in Unknown Space)
We see the station, sitting amongst the stars, stillborn, and quiet.
Then we see a subtle greenish, seemingly sentient, fog creep towards the station and cling to it slowly. All it touches corrodes slightly, with the paint curling and flaking into the void. The fog invades the station as if phasing through the materials and metal.
Once inside, the fog seeks what looks like some Sith sigiled tomb, connected to hoses and wires. The tomb lights up as if recognizing the visitor, and a hiss of some sort of steam let's loose throughout the station, the tomb begins to open.
Large, grey skinned, long fingered, hands grasp the sides of its technological coffin, pulling itself upwards and into view. It is cowled and cloaked, in trapping of the Sith, echoing of Sith Sorcery and Sith Alchemical materials.
Plagueis, has arisen....
(To summarize, It becomes known that Plagueis' story, of where he had allowed himself to become drunk and vulnerable to his apprentice, was a test. He was not in his own original body, but a Force Clone, created via his own mastery of Sith Science, and old mastery of Sith Sorcery and Sith Alchemy, in the form of a space station hidden beyond the Outer Rim. His original body, sealed inside the Sith Temple Tomb, and the dark side machinery utilizing his force powers and mastery to manifest and occupy a complete clone made purely of the force. Plagueis was testing the limits of the clone, the vulnerabilities, and with nobody more dangerous and treacherous as his Apprentice, Sheev Palpatine.
It worked miraculously well, except for the unforeseen result of his disembodied Sith Spirit having to crawl through space back to his body. This took an amount of time not accounted for, straining upon his focus, and nearly disincorporating him in his ephemeral state as he was buffeted about crossing the perils of space. Plagueis took each and every opportunity to feed upon the life of every individual he happened upon amongst the shipping lanes to strengthen his bond with the dark side of the force, and hold his ethereal state together long enough to reach the station containing his infernal contraption as it lie like a stab wound in the deeper space, unbeknownst to others.
Now that he is awake, he learns of Palpatines end, his plans and his failures. He determines to take a new Apprentice...someone looked over with potential..he does not have the luxury of time to raise one up...he browses the information traffic of the worlds and happens upon a name..Fin.
He knows this individual, as a child he had him taken from his father to entice a challenger to Palpatine as an Apprentice in the form of Mace Windu...this must be Fin Windu, his lost child *predicated that Windu did survive his failure against Palpatine and went into hiding, finding someone to love and having a child, which the Sith Spirit of Plagueis set forth the seed to steal away Fin into the First Order*. Perfect for for his Rebirth and Rise to power. He now must devise a plan to attract the young man to him....to sharpen the man into a weapon and wield against the galaxy.
This is where our story begins...)
Yes, but did he have a pair of exquisite pajamas? I'd imagine so. Perhaps even nicer than Dooku's considering how much wealth Demask Holdings controlled.
It's natural for him to have a fear of sleep, since he had a fear of death, since sleep is the cousin of death.
Dealth comes for us all Urokousaki, but when you die, it will be without honor
Day 546 of asking for a part 3 of what if anakin was trained by qui gon
Ahhh, so this universe has Freddy Krueger too I see. 😂
He didn't want to dream and potentially see the events of The Acolyte
😂
😂
FR
Also true- head cannon. Nah f**k that it’s just cannon now 😂🫡💯
EXACTAMENTO
Has there ever been a Star Wars character that has been depicted in so many completely different ways?
Just a question. I saw a video you recently made about Palpatine giving a speech to Plaugeis as he died. That’s how he died in Legends right? But in cannon he gets killed while he was sleeping by Palpatine.
Just want to be sure. I don’t know that much about the lore in Star Wars
What is the soundtrack you use in your videos like this one? It sounds cool.
Dark Choir Music
@@TheLegendR9 you have a link?
We really need a plagues show… like WTF is the acolyte when there is cannon like this from the same time period
Disney doesn't care
They'd botch it for sure.
Remember; you can't be an assassin without ass.
😎 video
The problem wasn't that Plagueis was standing alone against the assassins, the problem was that Plagueis was seriously injured. If Plagueis didn't die fatally cut by bladed discs, assassins wouldn't stand a chance.
Wow, once again, the Xfinity universe of Star Wars is far greater than anything. Disney could do. I don’t want Disney to touch this with the 10 foot pole, leave it to the amazing book that already exist. One day, someone will buy Star Wars or create Star Wars content from this great Xfinity universe we have, and we will get to see these books and action for all the glory that they are.
I wonder how powerful was Darth Tenebrous master its said that Jedi and sith before were more powerful then they are now
No wonder he looks so tired and cranky in the acolyte dude hasn’t caught enough Z’s 😂
This is why I sleep all day
star wars needs a plagueis movie or mini series
Nah Disney will ruin it stop wishing
After Disney loses the copyrights to star wars...
Lol. Sidious was his apprentice. Wouldn't you?
Sleep is the cousin of death
In a philosophical sense when we sleep are we not dead?
Yes when we sleep we are not dead lol
Let’s be honest, This should’ve been The Acolyte plot
He literally slept on Sidious
So once upon a time, Palpatine actually cared about his master?
Bro just like me fr
I'm all but a technicality of his labored breathing Darth plagueis died that day. The assassins removed him as a political threat.
How does plagueis find palpatine before the Jedi?
Hi
Comment
NNNNNNOOOOOOO
Cause sleep is the cousin of death
I'd be shocked if it was something less
Ironic.
You Iove the acolyte huh?
lol
I know you’re trolling but with acolytes have always been a thing in Star Wars. The Acoshyte show is just garbage Disney made up in the high republic ( a time they created as well lol )
Exar kun was the greatest sorcerer in galaxy history he also could manipulate midchronian
I want to see Darth Plagueis in future of star wars but not by Disney
disney should allow the youtubers creative control
So when Elon gets fed up and buys it?
I really wanna see this scene in some show perhaps it can be in one of the tales of the sith episodes. That would me awsome
Nah Disney star wars is too lighthearted family friendly watered down censored pg and poorly written
No he didn’t! You missed the mark
Why was this idiot Jar-Jar said to be Plagueis reincarnated. But from your channel, I found out that Palpatine killed Plagueis in Revenge of the Sith, which would make it the 3rd film in the series, while Jar-Jar appeared in part one. So maybe those rumors are false.
Coincidentally I just finished reading this for the first time a few days ago. With all apprehensive talk surrounding the Acolyte possibly backdooring Plagueis into the show i figured i should read it before Lucas Films inevitably do ruin the storyline.
Oddly enough i kind of felt bad about Sidious killing him.

So very true what you say. This election will have world wide ramifications for the world if trump gets back in. As an Australian I am watching very closely because it is not just another election. Thank you for your courage in speaking out. It can’t be easy with some of the idiots supporting trump. Great job Jesse. Keep it up. America and the world need men of integrity like you 🇳🇿👍
Are ya'll ready for "plagueis was a woman"
"Fear of Death..." Right .. let's be real... He's scared of NyQuil.. one the big reasons for Palpatines ire an the Ancients' (Sith) Disgust of him...
I never sleep cause sleep is the cousin of death- darth Nas
Legends means nothing.
