Yes they would have. Even if she had denied that she had started having periods. HCG is always one of the first tests done on any woman/girl who could be of reproductive age.
Cuddy just wants to fight with him about everything & prevent him from doing his job. I like this show, but the only thing preventing me from loving it is her. Every single time he tries to do something, & 99.99% of the time he's right, she stalls him to argue about personal bs. Its a fucking hospital! House: this patient is dying he needs help! Cuddy: No.
That’s the whole point of her character though. She’s meant to be unlikable, he’s meant to be a super genius who always knows what to do. His character is based on Sherlock Holmes, except she (as a hospital administrator) is meant to reign him back in, put up the red tape. I wouldn’t be surprised if his romance with her started as some sort of long game to get her wrapped around his finger so she would always say yes, despite the obvious sexual tension and emotional connection. The writing and character development in this show was immaculate, I really wish Hugh Laurie was in more shows. He’s a great lead.
I feel like if anybody was in Cuddys position they would likely due the same thing even if he’s almost always right. Some of the tets they do are really dangerous and can kill or leave long lasting permanent damage so you want to be really sure before approving of those types ofbb by procedures.
House is a huge legal liability for the hospital. Someone needs to keep him in check. We love House and he's almost always right but Cuddy is the one who makes him justify what he is doing based on medical science and legal reasoning, instead of letting him operate under pure impulse.
I grow tired (me working as a PI in my spare time) of how underpaid and underrated Penelope Garcia (Criminal Minds) is, that this was just a fanfiction episode of Criminal Minds brought to you by what actually happened with Spencer Reid (Criminal Minds) and why he did not alter reality on time that Greg House took over for the missing terms about unwarranted tween pregnancy (which is also known by intuition if not for the guard on her parents (who did this to her if known how) became an actual problem to Greg irl (missing daughter, like you can tell)
I think the actress in this episode is Lindsay Pulsipher, credited as Teammate #1. The actress in Skin Deep episode was Cameron Richardson. They both do look similar.
"Under New Jersey law, you're the boss." Wow. Yup, your average 12 yr. old is definitely qualified to handle an unplanned pregnancy and an abortion, without her parents' help, decision making, or support.
And the elephant in the room everyone is overlooking. WTH is wrong with the state of NJ that they passed laws preventing Dr.'s from discussing a minors pregnancy with the parents? That is messed up.
Because some father figures end up being the father of the minor's baby, others will retaliate against the girl, and yet others will force her to birth it against her will.
Forcing transparency with the parent can lead to what the person above me said and also prevent the child from being honest with their doctor when they need to be.
I dont think it was a great idea to hide this, kids always think they ‘know’ what they are doing only to realize years later that they didnt. What if she was groomed by a pedophile?
100% agree When you are a young teen you feel like you are mature and able to make decisions. Well not at all ! I was groomed by several men during my teenage years and ended up doing cams for them. But I really thought I was doing something mature with nice and trustworthy guys (lol no) So yeah, kids need to be aware of these kinds of situations
Kids won't always be honest with their doctors about things like this if they're afraid they'll tell their parents. Not every pregnancy will result in extensive tests like this, but without proper care a pregnancy or STD can kill you. It's far more important that they're honest with their doctors if they won't be honest with their parents.
State laws can be different. Also imagine if the parents were pro "life" and wanted her to keep the baby. There are pro birth people who think like that. Sometimes it may not be safe for the parents to know.
Also sometimes that fear kids have of telling their parents can prevent them being honest with their doctors. Doctors being required to tell the parents could get kids killed.
@@cutecats532 Just because the babies are not born yet doesn’t mean you should kill them. It’s sad that in today’s world we get away with killing people who are the weakest and need to be protected. They are all wonderful creations of God.
@ But again they are kids. They still depend on their parents for everything. They can’t get to the doctor without an adult driving them. The parents are older and can sometimes make a wiser decision.
@Thefantasier A living human being with hopes and dreams should always take priority over an organism that could be considered a parasite and hasn't even breathed air. Even more so the case if the person doesn't even want the baby (underage or not). If a parent tells a 12 year old child to keep the baby then they should are not a good parent especially if the child doesn't want it
This episode irritated me so much because any post-pubescent woman who goes to the doctor for any reason will be asked to give a urine sample. Pregnancy is one of the things they check for because people lie or simply might not know they're pregnant. It's important to make sure a woman is not pregnant before starting any treatment in case she was unaware and wants to keep the pregnancy - most drugs plus something like an x-ray could really screw up fetal development, if not killing it outright. My point is, there is no way this girl would've gotten so far into treatment without anyone realizing she was pregnant. I know medical dramas aren't real world accurate, but I know this just from being a woman who has been to the doctor. Other than that it was a great episode; I had a hunch there was going to be some plot twist where the older male coach was a creep.

Yes they would have. Even if she had denied that she had started having periods. HCG is always one of the first tests done on any woman/girl who could be of reproductive age.

Pregnant at twelve. A man who would do that is unconscionable.

Yeah. Only a man, and she herself - not?

Absolutely no reason a 12 year old should be pregnant. Absolutely disgusting.

its so sad, shes just a child :( its disgusting to think this happens in real life
That teaser in the first few minutes is very misleading.
that dive was smoooooooth
Too bad no one saw it 😔
House does the vocal fry like the Kardashians.
How tf is house legally not compelled to tell the parents? Shes a minor.

@PfEMP Being a child star tends to shorten your life span, in some cases quite significantly. RIP.
This is one of the only episodes that made me genuinely furious.
what was with the dude with blood in his ears at the beginning?
Meningitis.
RIP Bartusiak gone too soon
I grow tired (me working as a PI in my spare time) of how underpaid and underrated Penelope Garcia (Criminal Minds) is, that this was just a fanfiction episode of Criminal Minds brought to you by what actually happened with Spencer Reid (Criminal Minds) and why he did not alter reality on time that Greg House took over for the missing terms about unwarranted tween pregnancy (which is also known by intuition if not for the guard on her parents (who did this to her if known how) became an actual problem to Greg irl (missing daughter, like you can tell)

It's so sad the young girl actress died in 2014 from a seizure. Skye McCole Bartusiak at 21 years old.
Drug overdose
@@natashaharrison5128 A bit of both they said. But either way its sad so young.
2:59 aint that the model girl that was sleeping with her dad or whatever n they thought she was both genders somehow?
I think the actress in this episode is Lindsay Pulsipher, credited as Teammate #1. The actress in Skin Deep episode was Cameron Richardson. They both do look similar.
She is 12!! Underage, someonee needs to know!! Parents first!! 13 years old is a child!!
" rock paper scissors"😭
What a crazy place to do, a spinal, one mistep, or shove and the kid is paralyzed.
What was that start of the clip? What happened to that old guy and why did she get taken to the hospital?
I thought 12yrs old was considered a minor and a felony, no matter what?
"Under New Jersey law, you're the boss." Wow. Yup, your average 12 yr. old is definitely qualified to handle an unplanned pregnancy and an abortion, without her parents' help, decision making, or support.
She shouldn't be a mother. That's for sure.
There are parents who would force her to keep the pregnancy, even if it was killing her.
You have uploaded this way too many times..more of new seasons and what happens after Amber dies!
They ran out of clips a while ago. Best they can do is reupload and milk it for as long as they can.
Forcing transparency with the parent can lead to what the person above me said and also prevent the child from being honest with their doctor when they need to be.
rest in peace so sorry ops
What happened with the dead guy in the beginning?
This beautiful actress died so young
seeing house in the thumbnail made me pregnant too
I’m dying rn you just made my day with this comment 😂 the dude is very good looking.
House is so hot
Twelve. That dude needs to be in prison.
An LP in the hallway?
I dont think it was a great idea to hide this, kids always think they ‘know’ what they are doing only to realize years later that they didnt. What if she was groomed by a pedophile?
100% agree
When you are a young teen you feel like you are mature and able to make decisions. Well not at all ! I was groomed by several men during my teenage years and ended up doing cams for them. But I really thought I was doing something mature with nice and trustworthy guys (lol no)
So yeah, kids need to be aware of these kinds of situations
Kids won't always be honest with their doctors about things like this if they're afraid they'll tell their parents. Not every pregnancy will result in extensive tests like this, but without proper care a pregnancy or STD can kill you. It's far more important that they're honest with their doctors if they won't be honest with their parents.
I hate how vulgar and rude the doctor was to her, she's just a child. It's not his place to be judgemental and mean.
Apparently you don’t know what blunt means, he was blunt and straight to the point, no sugar coding
Child or not, somethimes xou have to vulgar that she realised she is not right and what she did is not mature at all.
You must be new here. Judgemental and Mean are House's middle names. It just means he cares, though.
Im assuming you havent seen any of the other episodes?
God people like you are too soft lol he was being blunt and honest not mean. You must be a liberal
It makes no sense for it to be illegal to tell the parents. She’s 12 for crying out loud.
Other than that it was a great episode; I had a hunch there was going to be some plot twist where the older male coach was a creep.
so what did the old dude collasping have to do with any of that ?
Where do I know that actor who plays the coach?
It’s Eddie McClintock from Warehouse 13 according to the comments
It kills me that for a high viewing medical show they can't get the basics right - like a STERILE FIELD for a lumbar puncture
very interesting to see a case where the mothers life is in objectively danger
Can anyone tell me what happened afterwards does she actually tell her parents? Do they arrest the coach?
General protocol for females for females who've had a period is a pregnancy test with any medical abnormality. It took that long...?
Hugh Laurie From Stuart Little
the girl is Megan Matheson from 24 season 2
I'm so good I never forget a face she's from the movie called love comes Softly the little girl
Me, seeing the actor from Warehouse 13- "NO!!! Pete Latimer is a groomer?"
That actress died at 21

Oh wow I looked it up

Why was there blood coming out of the man ear?
Why didn't he tell the parents?
The law in the state means that he cant without the girl's permission.
